Xenoblade . . . so good. Haven't enjoyed a game this much since SMG2 and an RPG this much since well Vagrant Story. Awesome game, love love love.

ActicEdge

I want that for my Wii (haven't played it in forever) but there are other games for it that I would get before it simply because of length. Plus I still don't have Mass Effect 3 and I REALLY want that haha.

Would you reccomend it to someone who usually doesn't play Japanese games?

Yeah, because it gets rid of a lot of typical JRPG conventions and makes it more streamlined for players.

lundy86_4

Oh man, I need to continue with that game. It was downright fantastic.

I got to Frontier Village (a little after). It relies too heavily on sidequests, but overall the game blew me away. Thanks for the reminder :P

Its not perfect by any means (though I don't feel its side quest heavy personally, I like doing tons of them becauseit fleshes out the locales in good ways) but I totally agree that there are some things about the game that need streamlining. (not a lot though) The game though is all sorts of awesome, the tone is well done, mechanics are balanced, everything clicks.

I was bummed with the back end of Xenoblade. :(. And once I had too many moving NPC locations to track.illmatic87

I would imagine it needs to get linear at some point. Games like Xenoblade can't stay open ended forever, it is just an excuse for terrible pacing, that said I'm only about half way through the game so I still have lots to see.

Its still pretty clearly a JRPG. I think that if you don't like JRPGs the story will be decent for you up until what I imagine is some ridiculous plot convention (right now its honestly not obnoxious enough yet so I know it has to be coming) like 50 hours in. The streamlining is good though. The game has a lot of good conventions though, like experience and points for exploration and experience based achievements. A lot of the streamlining is for the better and the pacing is good. The worst part about the game is that if you don't enjoy the combat you're not gonna like the game at all because they don't put anything like fun mini game distractions in there for you to flock too when you've had too much story/exploration.

You could play it if you weren't stubborn. No one feels sorry for you here, the system is 100 bucks with a bunch of decent RPGs and the game can be found cheap. Go invest if you wanna play it. Don't see why its sad that a system gets a good game :|

I think its pretty good. The gameplay itself is really good and the exploration will appeal to those with a more western taste in games. 40 hours in the story hasn't made me too vomit induced (well one part did but otherwise its actually decent).

My Vita library is actually an excellent compliment to what I already have.

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - I've never played a HSG game before, and this is the newest one and also exclusive to Vita.

Gravity Rush - Unlike any other game I own or have played, and it's also exclusive to Vita.

Mortal Kombat - I never played the console versions, and the Vita version has all of the content found on the Komplete Collection version on consoles plus extra 150+ bonus ladders exclusive to Vita.

Uncharted: Golden Abyss - One of my favorite gaming franchises, and an entry in the series that can only be played on Vita.

Unit 13 - This is actually my favorite Vita game. It's great pick up and play style gameplay, has great graphics, sound effects, and is the last game made by a really good developer in Zipper Interactive who just closed down.

WipEout 2048 - I've actually never played a WipEout game before in my life, and this game according to all the reviews is the most detailed and "alive" WipEout game ever released. They were showing comparison footage to WipEout HD on PS3, and HD is a lot more generic and simple.

I agree, the Wii is a great system. It's better to follow games than to follow systems.

I have pretty much every Wii game I want right now, except for The Last Story which comes out this month.

Have you actually played any of these games to completion? I ask because you have so many games, it seems hard for you to form a full opinion when you would be jumping around so much.

You've got a lot more games than me (though I'ved played most of the games you own plus a bunch you don't have on thee. Plus 1 for Zack and Wiki, that is a genius puzzle game. You still need Sonic Colours, Bit Trip Collection and Tatsunoko vs Capcom though.

Hey mang, you counting out games you never tried, only hater here is you :P

JRPGs these days are too much filler for me to get lost in them like I could 5 years ago. Age, time commitment, a disgust towards anime filled with immature cliches etc. Its weird how I can watch full metal alchemist and feel like the show is aimed at someone my age but never get that feeling from RPGs that the Japanese make outside of Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story and Parasite Eve.

Why did I go to a bar 'til 1.45 when I have to work an hour away (in Missuassaga, outside Toronto) at 7am? Lame :(

Now I can't sleep.

On the upside, my buddy's company, which I work for (moving) got a TV show from the guys who started Holmes on Homes and are currently doing The Heat with Mark McEwen :D

Spec Ops: The Line was great.

You'd say it's just another generic shooter,but it isn't.
Now I know what the "The Line" stood for.
