I don't follow sales very closely at all but wouldn't it be more reasonable to assume if you were to put numbers on it that out of 100 people less people own both consoles than people who own one console or the other? This is also suggesting that both the Xbox One and Playstation 4 audiences are equal in size, of course you said as much in your critique of it.
I might be missing something or misunderstanding a little bit but wow that just seems wrong in its perspective.
