Shows what you know, I don't even own the game.
Well now, you gotta work on changing that.
Persona 4 Golden was hard for Chaz.
What a filthy scrub.
But it wasn't :|
Tch, I must have read wrong.

**** that, Champ is one man army against the death of fun in video games. Aint taking Capcom or Nintendo's shit
I don't want a digital copy of FE, and gamestop had a limited amount of copies, what a joke, and I was too lazy to drive to a bestbuy or something. So I'm going to wait, but honestly I'm not really in a hurry to play it.
So, come this tax return, I might pick up a Wii U.
Also, I find out DSP will be LP'ing Twilight Princess, and as much as that's my least favorite Zelda game...
All 3.
And challenge accepted.
Out of curiosity, did you enjoy Awakening?
I did.
Well then, you really can't go wrong with Fates, especially if you're playing all three versions :P
Playing Hard + Classic on Conquest. Left a huge hole in my defense and got Elise killed (nothing of value was lost.) Restarted though cause I gotta get them support convos.
Bad Chubs. Best unit in the game, yo. :x
-
Elise's positioning game is tough to get your head around as she's the second-most fragile unit in the game (First is Azura). However, her personal skill turns units normally incapable of tanking capable of withstanding enough punishment for your next turn (or turns Effie into a nigh-unstoppable wall of superhuman strength) provided she's not Paired Up as a support unit. Her Lv. 10 Troubadour skill makes things a little easier for the men as they're just not Effie. Gets even better when she promotes to Strategist with more support skills along with tome usage to make use of her insane Mag and Spd -- greatest of all the Nohrian siblings by a significant margin.
But until that point, remember she came with a Freeze staff. Use the Freeze staff. Buy more when necessary. Being temporarily down one enemy can make a surprising amount of difference. Kinda like how you'd use the pre-promote of old games to bail your ass out, except this doesn't sap XP from other units. See? Best unit, yo. Can save your ass without sapping XP unlike Freddy-bear.
Man, Birthright's last third is excellent. The first third was kinda meh, the second third was good but it wasn't anything special, just serviceably good, but the final third has been excellent so far. I'm on Chapter 25 right now, and the last four or five chapters have all been excellent. If only this game had Awakening level awesome characters.
So, come this tax return, I might pick up a Wii U.

And all this time, I thought you had a Wii U but if you didn't bother to get one at this point, might as well wait for NX and I bet NX will have BC to play Wii U games, so you might as well just save that Tax money you have and invest it on NX.
For me, since I'm almost finishing up with my Taxes, I might use it to get Oculus Rift or MS HoloLens.
On the final chapter of Birthright.
Man, Chapter 26... I haven't cared much for the story or the writing in this game so far (been mediocre at best and atrocious at worst) but this chapter really had an impact on me. Not saying anything because of spoilers, but... wow.
So I decided to watch all of FE Fates' online due to it not being out here in the UK and well....yeah, I'll pass.

What can I say, I'm slow and prefer it that way after the Wii launch. Hell, I didn't get a 2DS until Christmas of last year. :P
Speaking of 2DS, I just got Dead or Alive: Dimensions in the mail. Played these characters in this order: Tina, Christie, Helena, Kasumi, and Ryu Hayabusa. Not sure who's my favorite yet. But thus far, Tina has to be the best wrestler in a fighting game I've ever played (far more than I could EVER say for the likes of Kings and Zangief, though that's also not counting Jaycee in Tekken Tag 2, due to her being another kind of character in Tekken canon).
Almost final thoughts on Fates: it sucks and I want my money back. Thankfully a friend is crazier than I am and she will buy the Special Edition off me. This far into the game I have concluded Intelligent Systems is run by clowns who can't tell their arse from their face. Bullets:
tl;dr game is worse than Awakening by a large margin and isn't worth suffering.

On weapons
Silver is not meant for tanking. It's meant either as a support weapon for the person assisting whoever's tanking (which makes it great on Ninjas and Maids/Butlers when you see it saps the enemy's Speed and Defenses btw) without taking the debuff for every use or for when you absolutely need the extra firepower to kill something and can ensure a pause to recover from the self-inflicted debuff.
Steel is actually an upgrade for some units. Some are slow enough to not give a crap about doubling. Others are so fast it's effectively an extra +6 damage. Kaze and Niles immediately comes to mind on that front. Oh, and the wording was poor, but it's not -3 Spd. It's -3 Spd for the purpose of doubling. On getting doubled it has no effect.
Though you didn't mention it, I'm sure you know about Throwing's nerf. I'm also sure you know why it got nerfed the way it did. Brave also got nerfed. I'm sure you know why.
Basically, all the weapons are now additional options; side-grades (in most cases) rather than upgrades.
Debuffing
Debuffing's fine. Learn to factor ninjas in your approaches just like you learned to factor archers and mages. Also learn how to factor your own units like the Lance Fighter. You -have- seen Seal Defense and Seal Speed in action, right?
Pair Up
Is a tool equally powerful in your hands as it is theirs. Learn your match-ups, think about your approaches, stare at the stats in case you aren't sure, and remember that Dual Attacks do not factor speed and only deal half damage. You can do some crazy things like killing enemies up-close from full health to none without taking damage if you know how to use it.
Also, learn to use Ninjas. Seriously.
Revamped classes
You clearly didn't upgrade your Item Shop to Lv. 3. You also haven't seen how skill acquisition -- the more important thing -- works this time around.
Don't want Fates at all, Awakening was total trash that as good as ruined Fire Emblem imo and Fates is doing nothing to fix that.
I'll pass.
After the trash heap that was Awakening I'm probably gonna stay clear of this one, the atrocious dialogue doesn't help either.
Oh and before people say "buy Conquest", I'm not interested in buying one third of the story.
So I decided to watch all of FE Fates' online due to it not being out here in the UK and well....yeah, I'll pass.
Awesome, we get it dude.

I know, doesn't mean I can't comment though.
sold the game. Rather have my $75 for DQ7/8 down the line than suffer a game I do not find fun in the least.
I ever want to play Fire Emblem again, I'll whip out 6/7/8.
Fair enough. Can't force you to play a game you aren't having fun with. Just know that I think you didn't have fun because I think you genuinely suck at Fire Emblem.
@Technoweirdo: if I did, I wouldn't have beaten 6/7/8/9 on Hard. And Awakening, for what it's worth.
I'm just not one to find constant soft resets "fun" anymore. And the plot is so bad I can't be arsed to play it on Normal to see it through, either.
But hey, don't let me rain on your parade. I'll wait for something more my cup of tea.
Bad Chubs. Best unit in the game, yo. :x
I don't care how old she technically is. Big brother is making her stay out of battle. I miscalculated how much movement a unit had and they were intended to move in front of Elise after I moved her up to heal someone. Did the same thing at the beginning of PoR with Soren (nothing of value was lost then either.)
isn't classic mode basically perma death mechanic in Fire Emblem? I'm not about to let people die because of an innocent mistake or the games inconsistent difficulty.
I'll play on any difficulty but classic. I actually want to see more storyline, not less.

Next time you play through those games, take a look at their Luck, Constitution, and what weapons they're using as you progress through the game. Then look at their hit rates from the beginning of the game compared to the late game. Also your crit rate and how often you double.

Permanent until you do a reset~
More a mark of pride, really. Can't tolerate the game openly mocking me for not doing the job perfectly.
@Technoweirdo: I'm certain there's a reason for this but given this bad experience I doubt I'll touch another Fire Emblem game for at least a year or two. If not a lot longer.
Suppose the next "major" release on my calendar now is Twilight Princess HD. So chances are I'll probably slink back into the shadows until then; 'fraid I'm not one for idle banter like I used to be.

Yes, there's a reason. Without telling you the reason up-front, let's take a look at a boss of all things.
There's this one guy: Riev, a Bishop, near the end of Sacred Stones. Guy's got 20 Speed and a Constitution of 7. His tome, Aura, has a Weight of 15 though. That means he takes an 8 Speed penalty, giving him an effective Speed of 12. To double him, you'd need a Speed of 16.
Now tell me: How horribly will this man die to a General armed with nothing but an small axe they got from your local hardware store?
Naughtyottsell is probably blabadon alt account. Or waltefmoney lol
Nah I just don't like the new Fire Emblem style, it's just incredibly unfun and annoying to me.
