@jg4xchamp: I think we have a fundamental disagreement regarding how these people should be treated on the internet. You seem to believe that they got what was coming and as long as they end up ok then it's all good. That's just the sense I've been getting from your posts. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Sure, they had it coming. If you say something bigoted, did something bigoted, or get outed as an offender, you deserve the public criticism. If a platform chooses they don't want to associate with you because of your shit heel conduct, that's on you. Maybe because I do a corporate america ass job in New York for a living, but we sign contracts that have shit like code of conduct and the stuff that allows the corporation, organization, firm, business, what ever to tell you to kick rocks for public image.
No one forced Pewds to say a slur, he did that himself.
No one took Milo out of context, in any context what he stated was transphobic
No one imagined the dumb shit homeboy Jordan Peterson said, the man is a fraud.

I find this culture of dogpiling and self righteousness absolutely reprehensible, regardless of how things end up. You can't know how things will end before you start going on a flaming escapade. Just because you're guilty of something, it doesn't mean you become a free target for whatever form of online abuse people feel like throwing at you.
I don't care for it in the sense that I think there is a massive gap between being petty n ignorant, which is a lot of people who are just annoyed at left leaning tactics, so out of like some idiotic fit of pettyness they decided **** that you can't tell me what to do dawg!, vs straight up being a bigot.
That said, there zero to 60 nature aside, that's still a massive fucking improvement over straight up dismissing shit, or saying inane shit like "omg they are pandering to x community, they never would do this for y, even tho 90% of fucking media has always been about y". Again I can deal with obnoxious, aint got no tolerance to be found for the stupid.

Anita is the embodiment of self righteousness. She is an opportunist that profits off controversy. I am not saying this to degrade her as a person, I'm making observations based off her actions and reputation.
None of which justifies her getting death threats or doxxed or any of that shit. I think it's funny that its okay criticize anita for shit she has done and her reputation, but then you idiots gotta fucking pearl clutch for other goobers getting outed for their bullshit.

You can actually have a discussion there without needing to steer clear of certain aspects of the community. Tally up the amount of controversies arising from both forums and I'd bet ERA comes out on top by far.
I can have plenty of discussions on Gaf2, I need to adapt how I conduct myself, but there is nothing inherently wrong with that. Generally when actually speaking to people we adapt to our present company. For instance on this forum I can just be a dick, I wouldn't exactly call my behavior not toxic lol.
It's just a simple premise one place at least acknowledges shit for what it is. The other forum I'm getting a whole lot of excuses for why they don't want to accept a spade isn't a club.

My original point in posting all this was to underline that it isn't just stupidity. There's a serious issue with how people are communicating online and feel like they have free reign to spill people's lives all over the floor. Both sides are guilty, but ERA is one of the absolute worst offenders among gaming communities. Heck you've got threads even on your own forum pointing this out, it's almost a miracle that they aren't locked (probably has to do with all the crap that went down last week).
But you didn't lead with that energy. Matter of fact yall need it constantly pointed it out what a shit barrel current gaf or the current opposing side is like. I aint pretending its some both sides shit. Because I'm all about pointing out one side is definitely dumber.
Aint giving no pass to stupid mirko types much less the goobers who love bitching about gaf2, when they stuck with gaf1 n Tyler.

@lundy86_4: Too many extremists on both sides and it seems to me that there’s people just liking and disliking stuff because they want to annoy or trigger the other side. It’s a pretty sad state of affairs in society in general these days.
Chapelle always been hit or miss as a stand up. He's a great story teller, but that's about the only thing he's particularly great at as a comedian. He had a legendary skit show, but no one has ever really ranked any of his stand up specials against any all timers for fairly obvious reasons.
He had some quality jokes in there, I chuckled at the alphabet people, the another one line, and "if you can kill this mother fucker than I can abandon him". But while I'm actually pretty fine with punch down comedy, I think people are reasonable when they criticize his trans jokes. They aint funny, there was nothing clever or anything about "chinese dude in a black man's body", like in terms of flow you couldn't really argue it had a unique starting point, build up, and then punch line. It was slap dash out the gate.
Otherwise, Rotten Tomatoes has 6 reviews, one of them is a top reviewer on that site for his stand up. Because the other sources are a bunch of fucking no-name shits so who gives a ****?
The one critic who was a top critic? She has a point, what the **** is anyone doing going "woah is the celebs" ....mother fuckers rich as shit, make more money in a day than your bum ass will make in a life time, but you butthurt over the fact that someone thinks its suspect that Chappelle's comedy show makes some wise crack defenses for a pedo in R. Kelly and whatever the **** that is Michael Jackson because you really like Thriller (Thriller's pretty fucking great).
I think there is room to argue that comedy should have some reign to go for broke, but acting like you can't criticize comedy is stupid as **** also goons.
