[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"]Get it on 3DS. The thing about Tales of the Abyss, is that people quit the game before a significant plot point that really turns the game around. Anyone who quit before then missed out on a great game.ÂI want to play it... tales of the Abyss has me heavily interested in the Tales series now. Wish it'd come to Xbox.
bbkkristian
I meant I wish Xillia would come to Xbox :P Â I already have around 40 hours on Abyss on my 3DS and yeah it's awesome so far, hence why it's gotten me interested in the rest of the series.
Haven't played it yet. I started playing Dragon's Crown first instead. I guess DC is kind of a RPG as well. Great game though. Got a 79 score on Metacritics, so that's not too bad.It has taken a while but finally a game surpasses xenoblade and graces f and ofcourse, persona 4 the golden

Yeah I really have to wonder how many JRPGs truly can match the ambition and execution of Xenoblade... It's one of the few JRPGs where I never thought "okay, let's get this rolling, this is getting slow" and I love JRPGs, and Xenoblade is also the longest JRPg I've ever played (clocked in at around 75 hours).

There were a couple slow parts toward the end. I wasn't too fond of the sword valley, Mechonis Field, or the Central Factory, but the game did an amazing job overall with not having a feeling of RPG fatigue.[QUOTE="Senor_Kami"]LO gets my vote by a long shot. One of the best RPGs this gen period.

No, Vesperia was great. Better than Xillia. Minishdriveby
Vesperia is down there with Eternal Sonata. Â Might be better than Xillia but that speaks more to how bad Xillia is than Vesperia being good.
Eternal Sonata was much better than Vesperia or Ni No Kuni. I don't know about that. I didn't play much of Eternal Sonata, but what I did play didn't seem better then Tales of Vesperia.Everyone here is appreciating Xenoblade, and I'm just sitting here, trying to find a copy under 60 dollars.SonicNextGen2
Shoulda bought it when it came out. Â Although I'd say it's worth 60 buckaroos.

Good luck with that lol. I feel so bad for all those in SW talking about best JRPG without playing Xenoblade. It is like going to Jack in the Box without getting the Tacos. Not cool.

Don't feel bad for most of them. Â People who disowned it because it was on the Wii clearly got owned, didn't they?

Hehe, it's fine man, I love my Wii despite System Wars being stupid on it, I own like 30 games including the other two oprainfall games. Hell, my favorite series of all times, Sakura Wars, got its first localization on the Wii :D The second X comes out, I don't care about the Wii U price, I am getting it and the console.[QUOTE="Sweenix"]

X looks... Well, incredible.  It's basically Xenoblade with FVCKING MECHS.  That's just... Orgasmic.
How was Pandora's Tower BTW? Â I played TLS, I enjoyed it, but not as much as XB. Â PT looked the most interesting as far as the concept goes, but I've heard it's the weakest of the three.

You know, perfectionists will hate Xenoblade, their pacing will be incredibly slow because of side-quests and Colony 6 reconstruction. And they will do it on their first run, which is the problem. For anyone, I would say enjoy the game first without sidequests asides from accepting the monster aids, and just let them complete while your advancing the plot. Then go for seconds with the Perfectionist route.[QUOTE="turtlethetaffer"][QUOTE="Minishdriveby"] There were a couple slow parts toward the end. Really want to get the extra Skill trees and Arts, as well as being able to take on some really high level enemies... And apparently there's an enemy you can only fight on New Game + which is cool, too.

It had a really cool battle system and character interaction and music were awesome, but the story was really bland and the twists were WTF-worthy, and it had some framrate issues. I'd give it an 8. Also yeah, X.........just looks perfect, I can seriously see myself getting a Wii U soon since the sequels and new IPs on that console look amazing. Hopefully a price drop/new model comes along soon because of all the Wii U Basic discontinuations. I can see Nintendo doing something soon, their price drop announcements usually happen between now and the end of September (3DS XL, Wii $200, and 3DS $170)Haven't played it. I have yet to play a Tales game. I will though, starting with Vesperia.freedomfreakVERY GOOD CHOICE

WHAT? You serious? I purposely started a new game without NG+ so I could reset the levels. Being level 80 with the enemies at seriously low levels was boring for me. But now that I know there's enemies exclusive to NG+, I'm going back!! :x
If you guys like XenoBlade so much you really need to play Baten Kaitos. I enjoyed those over the famed TOS on the GC. HarlockJC
Hm... I'm going to have to; Its made by Monolith Soft as well. :P it got some great reviews as well.

OO I love dat Baten Kaitos. But I will say sometimes my darn fruit cards (yes I said fruit cards) would spoil before I used them!!! It is part RPG part card game all amazing!!!

When Nintendo bought out Monolith, I wanted to know what the game was all about. I did not expect to fall in love with the game. It really is one of the best RPG. I played it. The cast for the most part is very boring with only 2 characters catching my attention. In the gameplay department though it is very well done with how it handels sidequest and combat. The overall story was good though I wouldint call it my most enjoyable. Heck I had a better experiance overall with the last story.Another thing that bugged me about xeno was the most usful skill for the sword wasint just obtained you had to get it from a sidemission you could miss. I would be fine with this is all the skills had worked this way but the fact they kept giving you the skills then just stoped right before you hit the most useful one was so stupid.

Grace is great fun if you dont mind some cheese. Though the child arc is a bit slow it picks up after that.
Am I the only one who's going to own up and admit I couldn't get through Xenoblade because of the graphics? I feel like some PlayStation 2 games looked better than Xenoblade did, and that's not OK -- even for Wii.
But who knows, maybe I'll feel differently if I give it another go.

Radiant Historia still stands as the best JRPG this gen for me. Granted, I'm only a few hours into Xillia.

If we are counting handhelds Fire emblem awaking deserves to be up there somewhere. I wasint even that into the gameplay that much but the story was very enjoyable and most importantly the characters and the realationships you could build with them was freaking just awesome. Im happy my avatar meant something.

Well it's not a JRPG but sure.
[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"] I'm playing it right now. I beg to differ.Xaero_GravityD:  My main problem with it is the frequent story interruptions. I know it's a JRPG and it's to be expected, but I'm not fond of watching a cutscene for 10 minutes, walking 5 steps and then watching another. The combat is unique but it's starting to get a little tedious as it hasn't really evolved in the 12 hours that I've played, except for the addition of the mana burst which is a good addition for rearranging the attack order. It sucks that I don't really have much control on who I take into battle (the majority of the time I only have Raynie, Marco and Stocke in the party) and when I do get new partners they're underleveled.
It's a good game, but I don't think it's god tier.

Yeah it is. Tactical or not. Its a JRPGThis seems unlikely, because it's a Tales game. Tales games are grindy as f*ck. That is not good game design.
