Yeah between the games on XBLA and PSN, the XBLA has a much better library then the PSN from what I seen. I would get a 360 just for XBLA.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
No doubt I've enjoyed XBLA titles more than PSN titles overall. The only ones I really enjoyed on PSN were Super Stardust HD and Flower, whereas titles like Geo Wars, Super Meat Boy and Limbo were all excellent. But still, I'd rather play the retail releases.
Wut? if you want to talk about what the console provides as exclusives no matter what then you have to include everything and not be arbitrarily nitpicky which is usually what lems do in this matters. Until of course the PS3 starts beating them in their own game and then they start changing the rules again.[QUOTE="kuraimen"][QUOTE="T-razor1"]
That's cute but for the purpose of this discussion is silly. I might as well go dig into the games on demand section for the 360. Too bad I'm not talking about old retail games that I can purchase in the digital space.
T-razor1
If any of those games were ever on an Xbox console they would've been placed in the "Games on Demand" section NOT the "arcade" section and thus I don't see the point of you listing those games. It's not the same thing.
And why would we use the 360 standard? it makes sense for PSN. You can count the Games on Demand section if you'll like.[QUOTE="T-razor1"][QUOTE="kuraimen"] Wut? if you want to talk about what the console provides as exclusives no matter what then you have to include everything and not be arbitrarily nitpicky which is usually what lems do in this matters. Torchlight isn't an exclusive.
Why is that always overlooked?
T-razor1
Here we go..
Look it's a console exclusive to the 360 meaning you won't find it on the ps3. Better? If you want to bring PCs into it have at it but for me I'm really just talking about the consoles.
Isn't this no longer "allowed" on System Wars? If not, it doesn't matter anyways; adding console in front of it doesn't make it exclusive.

Don't call it exclusive then, its not exclusive to 360 because you can play it on multiple platforms.

I'm glad Kevin-V enjoyed the game, but just remember that's just one fella's opinion. ;)
Edit:
Also, XBLA sure is full of quality content. I just wish I had the monies to dive into it all.

...and that's why I used the smilies :). I was just poking fun at another thread regarding C2 where some members here were holding onto his word like a god because he thought UC2 and KZ3 looked better even though his opinion was one of several others across the net that disagreed with him.
What makes games look good is not just graphics, its the combinations of animatinos, cinematics, physics, art and modelling. C2 may have better graphics but overall visuals pale compared to UC2. Thats what Kevin was alluding to but i guess fanobys are to narrrow minded to get it.
He didnt just enjoy it... he said it was his favorite game of 2011 thus far... more than kz3 lbp2 crysis2 etc....I'm glad Kevin-V enjoyed the game, but just remember that's just one fella's opinion. ;)

I don't understand the argument that downloadable games don't count. If its a price thing, then that's just stupid. It should count. Kevin V said Vampire Smiles was his favorite game this year, including retail titles. There are tons of great games on PSN and XBLA and I don't see why the exclusives shouldn't be counted.
well since xbox live cost $60 a year one would think it would destroy psn that is free

That $60 fee is for Facebook and Hulu, features the PS3 has for free through the Opera Web Browser.

I think you're extremely aware that the money for Live is primarily for online play. Now that it's getting the attention it deserves, will people start agreeing that The Dishwasher should be the 360s Mortal Kombat exclusive character? I'd love to see him as future DLC.

Well you clearly do realise, seeing as you highlighted that with Hulu and Facebook. I'm not even bothering to justify XBL, I pay for it because I want to.I don't really think it is fair to count the 360's XBLA lineup as full games. It isn't quite the same as a full retail game. What I don't understand is why PC is always brought up in these threads. Yes this is System Wars but when you are comparing 360 and PS3 exclusives then PC has no place in this thread. Cows brag all the time about their "amazing graphics" on their PS3 but at the same time those graphics are nothing compared to the PC.

[QUOTE="Solquid_Snake"][QUOTE="dvalo9"]Was expecting this thread with the recent dish water review, face it they don't count if thats the logic then explain MGS,FFVII and all the high rated ps1 games available on psn.kuraimen
Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII are bad examples because they can be played on PC.
And Torchlight, Super Meatboy, etc can also be played on PC. So in other words, you need a PC and a PS3 to equal a 360?Very interesting point. I would say some games should count as full games - there are games out there at retail with a 4-5hour singleplayer, something which is exceeded by many of these downloadable titles.I don't really think it is fair to count the 360's XBLA lineup as full games. I don't get this though. Many are just as good as full retail games, if not better. For example Kevin said Dishwasher: VS is his favourite game so far this year which includes games like:
Personally, I'm having much more fun with TD:VS than with any of the above (Haven't tried Yakuza 4, but I doubt I'd like it near as much). That doesn't just go for DS:VS either. Look at games like LIMBO, Braid, Castle Crashers, Dishwasher Dead Samurai & Super Meat Boy as well. I've had more fun with those than 80% of the retail games I've played in the last two years.
Here goes another one. His thread is strictly Xbox 360 vs PS3. Why are you bringing in the PC? In boxing matches, if a boxer doesn't have a left hook he's not allowed to have another fighter in the ring with him to make up for his flaws. I guess PS3 can't stand against Xbox 360 if people still need to bring up PC in a 360 vs PS3 thread.[QUOTE="Rican-Prodigy"][QUOTE="Solquid_Snake"]
It's funny- I don't own an Xbox 360 but can play it. Therefore it isn't exclusive.
JLF1
I have a backward-compadible PS3, can I bring up every PS1 and PS2 game when I compare PS3 vs 360?
As far as I'm concerned yes, absolutely. Although you should make sure and specify you have a backward compatible PS3 when you do so, since that actually accounts for a minority of PS3's whereas console exclusives can be played on all 360s. Just like X-Box originals, Indie Games, and the 400 or so X-Box games that are backward compatible, PSN PS1 downloadable titles, etc. shouldn't be forgotten when comparing the two. Why should any features or games that you can use your console to play, that the other console cannot play, be ignored when comparing the two?

SW... where 1 plus 1 = banana
Why are you people so obsessed over what Kevin like and says. :? I agree though, that Vampire game looks sick. millerlight89
Well this is System Wars where Gamespots word seems to be taken as Gospel. Usually we would just say Gamespot gave it a 9.0, but as Kevin has posted in this topic a few times we've just been saying Kevin instead. So basically, what you're saying is why are people obsessed with what Gamespot likes & says? I agree, but again, this is System Wars & it seems to be the only way to get through to most people here. I mean, would more people be interested in TD:VS if I said it was awesome, or if Gamespot did?

I have a gaming PC, do I have to negate that fact because it ruins your argument that you have to own a 360 for the novelty games?
If that is the case, address the PS1 library available on PSN/PS3 before we discuss anything else.... we cant count other systems like the PS1 or PC right?
As I'm sure your now seeing the obvious flaw in that argument, you can possible see why I would be moved to include an eye roll as SW accepted form of sarcastic punctuation.
Some of the exclusive arcade games and indie games on Xbox Live are better than some exclusive big budget 360 games like Gears of War 2 for example. On SW arcade and indie games don't mean much even if they are some of the best games on the xbox 360.

Big difference between acknowledging the system and hiding behind it. Which is something that both PS3 only and 360 only owners seem to do.

That makes no sense, functionally, they work the same.
I guess you just have to close your eye and pretend you are whisked away to XBL land where you have your own separate Internet network that takes over your ISP.
Look at Uncharted 2 and MGS4 and gears of war 2... then look at limbo and braid...campzorHeh, I had more fun with Braid then Gears of War 2. Imagine that? What exactly am I looking at here?

Their held on different merits due to production values. I remember when braid was still exclusive to the 360 and people were trying to compare it to fully multi-million dollar produced AAA games. You just really can't.[QUOTE="finalfantasy94"]

lol, there are ps3 titles that have no friends list support and even a few with no chat.dl speed on xbl is better.
there is not one single arcade or indie title that does not come with a demo.

Why would you do that? well because they are part of what makes the 360 what it is and is not on the PS3. Is not like if you don't count them they magically cease to exist. You are making a completely arbitrary judgement on which games to count and which don't just to serve your point. But if you want to be inclusive you might as well count ALL games that can be played on both consoles since in real life that's what counts. This is typical from lems to come up with arbitrary divisions and rules to suit their imaginary made up lists, I say the hell with made up dumb rules, lets see reality, lets see what both systems deliver in real life and not in system wars which was exactly what you were complaining about at the start of this thread.[QUOTE="FragTycoon"]
