[QUOTE="bufu21"][QUOTE="King_Dodongo"]Lol at the fanboys. Thinking the 7th gen won't end in a few hours is like waiting to be more butthurt than ever. yellonet

It ends when all companies release a new console.

Yep, but the new gen start when the first company releases a new console.

Yer new gen for Nintendo not x360 and ps3.

THE GOOD:-

- Rise of indy gaming - not that it did not exist before, but this gen brought it to the front

- Emergence of games which encourage unconventional mechanics like minecraft and recently, dayz ie games which have a refreshingly different challenge/reward system

- a substantial improvement in graphics for the consoles from last gen

- co-op

- more and more games are now based in an open world setting, rather than a standard level based, artificially limited design that used to be the case

THE BAD:-

- stagnation of tech due to lack of attention by money grubbing publishers, who are content to put out the same thing to audiences who don't know any better

- lack of good stories, not that it's ever been different

- rise of the cookie cutter fps -add 20% fps, 20% linear corridors, 10 % chest high walls, 5 % epic scenes, 5% bromeraderie and fill the rest with grittyness and brown poo

-Dumbing down of major franchises in order to sell them to a bigger audience - particularly with regards to previously pc-exclusive games

- slow death of 3d platformer, rts and other less prominent genres

THE UGLY:-

- Motion Controls

- Mandatory multiplayer component, and in the same note, an annoying push towards integrating your gaming and social lives

- 3d - or rather, this virtual cardboard diorama simulator we call 3d

- EPIC SCENES, any addition which makes the game 'cinematic'

- Call of Duty Modern Soldier Alien Massacre World Invasion Nuclear Apocalypse simulator

Biggest Disappointment: Brawl, most wii exclusives other than Mario Games and Donkey Kong Country Returns. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (words can't describe how much I hate that game). Resident Evil 5/6,

Biggest Surprise: That I actually grew to love WRPGs. Gears of War (sounded stupid, thought I was gonna hate it but ended up loving it)

Favorite Multiplayer Game: Halo 3

Best handheld game: Animal Crossing: Wild World

Best Racer: Forza 3

Best Fighter: Super Street Fighter IV

It was wonderful. No game cracked my top 3(re4, ninja gaiden black, and metroid prime), but it had plenty of great games. I'm ready for a new gen though, and I'm at that point where more of the same just doesn't cut it.
