Fugly for sure. But I never care about console looks in making a buy decision.

Its honestly hard to believe a console that is only like 9.2 teraflops needs to be this big. It even has 50 watt higher power consumption than the Series X. What could that thing possibly have inside of it that is using all of that power?

With how small Japanese houses/apartments are, i don't know how they're gonna fit this fat b*tch in their home. It might only take 1/3rd of the room just to fit the ps5. Might do poorly in Japan just for that reason.

thank god for no weird as ports. Any accessories should just be usb which means PC compatible.

Who designed this thing? It's hideous almost as bad as the X-Series X trunk.

Just speculating here but it could be an effort to stop the end user from cramming the PS5 into a spot that is just too small. If they put just the black bit into a space where it only just about fits it could really mess up the cooling. at least the shell will give it a bit more breathing room if someone is pushing their luck. At the bottom the white shell seems to extend very slightly beyond the black part for a little extra ventilation too.

it won't work of course. Some idiot is still going to remove the outer shell, slide the middle part in as small an area as possible then start complaining that their PS5 sounds like a lawnmower and randomly shuts down while playing games.

it'll be the same with the XSX. A dolt will have it placed horizontally in as small an area as possible then start complaining about the same issue.

Initially thought it was ugly, but thought it might grow on me. Nope, think it gets worse the more I see it.

Not at all a factor in whether or not I get a PS5, but it surely won't be openly displayed if I do. If hooked up to the TV, going behind it. If hooked up to the monitor, should blend in nicely next to the router/modem.

I was expecting more a positive response after seeing the actual system. 😅

I actually think it's an ugly console with extra, unneeded plastic in certain areas. It's also huge. I think the Series X, Series S and PS5 are all ugly, but I'm getting a Series X and PS5 anyways because I always buy the latest offerings from Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. But screw the Series S, what a joke that thing is.

Makes me wonder why its larger and heavier than the XSX when its massively less powerful in comparison. Are Sony engineers this incompetent?

Tumourstation 5 is already huge, and then they tack some warped plastic vanes on the sides which actually makes it bigger. The size of the tumour where the disc goes is actually laughable....and the whole design is plain gaudy. Not offering them in black is even worse.

The PS5 design is not based on temperature Buffoon, it drops frequency on power requirement from either component not on heat it was already confirmed by sony.
