Far Cry 3-Weed burning
KZ3- all of it
This topic is locked from further discussion.
The section just before the 2nd boss in Hard Reset.
Actually, I liked the Hospital level where the 2nd boss (shown) is.
and the Train Station:
Half Life 2 Ravenholm was pretty amazing to
walkingdream
Yeah this. Still probably my favourite level in a game.Â
Also some levels in Bioshock and the Mass Effect games come to mind.
That bit at the end of Half Life 2 when you get god like powers.
Early in Call of Duty 2 when you storm a fortifed building with all your Russian bros. That was the first time I had played games since the end of the sness/genesis era and mind was blown.
Â
Too many current gen games :P
Omaha Beach - Medal of Honor Allied Assault and Frontline
Stalingrad - Call of Duty
Blast Pit - Half Life
FPS this gen may have gotten more cinematic but these levels for their time really set a great atmosphere without using all these fancy graphical effects.
Yes. And a mech being clunky is kind of redundant, no? At least in my experience with them.[QUOTE="senses_fail_06"][QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"]
You serious? That level was horrible :? The mech was so clunky and the level design was poor.Â
The intro level was the best in KZ2. That or the train. When you tossed a grenade and watched the particles actually fly passed you because the train was moving, that was awesomeÂ

There's a difference in being clunky in real life and cumbersome to what a game should do. It shouldn't feel crap to walk around in a mech. Play hawken and then go back to KZ2 and you'll see what a mech should feel like. or at least a better rendition of what it should feel like.Â
Then again the controls in KZ2 were pretty crap all round anyway
The mech level wasn't horrible. Besides, the mechs in Hawken move around much faster than classic mechs, more like the japanese version of mechs.
Some Good LEvels sofar in this thread, Id like to throw in:
Lab 16 & 18 from Stalker SoC
No One lives forever (just the whole thing really)
If counted, Deus Ex - Hells Kitchen
Deus Ex HUman Revolution - ShangHai (I think it is shanghai? suddently unsure if it was an artificially built Island)
Doom 3 - The Mars Facility Comms facility
Duke Nukem 3d The entirety of 1st and 3rd act (The two places taking place on earth)
AVP 2 Human Campaign, the start of it before the Predators comes running.
RAGE RC toy factory level is awesome. So I beat both CoD 4 and Halo Reach (again) recently, both had some exceptional levels in them that inspired this thread
Here's some:
New Alexandria - Halo Reach
All Ghillied Up - Call of Duty 4
One Shot, One Kill - Call of Duty 4
The Silent Cartographer - Halo Combat Evolved
The Ark - Halo 3
Blabadon
played IGI and SOFII both were kickass.I can't point to a single level but I really liked the single-player campaigns in these shooters:

nice choices btw - i like it!
Â
ps- igi was sooo hard it was crazy. love that game!
Not really sure how this is relating to the topic, But some of the mutant levels in Far Cry scared the fcking sh1t out of me.Â
And of course how could I forget Black Lake Lodge from Condemned 2. One of the greatest levels in any game.
Modern Warfare 2-Cliffhanger. Probably my favorite.freedomfreak
this too. i think i spent more time on replaying that level than the multiplayer.

So what's your sig? Halo? Killzone? What is it?
Halo ofc. Can't you see master chief and the pelicans in the background?
I'm gonna be really honest with you....they're all just merging and meshing together that I am really having a hard time differentiating between all these different shooters.
Stalingrad - Call of Duty

Â
Yeah, Stalingrad (and the Soviet campaign in general) in first CoD was awesome.
Made you feel really weak and un-important...
[QUOTE="mariokart64fan"]The fanboy is strong in this one. All Nintendo games yet the only good game out of all of those is Timesplitters. Goldeneye aged horribly and just plays like poopoo today, but keep those nostalgia glasses on.Facility  goldeneyeÂ
bunker 2 goldeneyeÂ
control goldeneye
dam -timesplitters 2
the haunted mansion-timesplitters fp
facility ge wiiÂ
bunker goldeneye remake
jungle golden eye remake

Timesplitters ins't a nintendo game. Heck, the first one was PS2 exsclusive.
Yeah the first part was great, but then the whole rest was just me thinking "When is the bear coming back? I want to fight the bear, not shoot these stupid dudes with stupid guns."And of course how could I forget Black Lake Lodge from Condemned 2. One of the greatest levels in any game.

Ravenholm from HL2 is such an important level for what physics can be used for in a computer game.
The Office Complex and We've Got Hostiles are cIassics from Half-Life 1.
The Normandy landing from Medal of Honour: Allied Assault.Â
You know Killzone 2 as a whole may not have the greatest campaign, but that level where you're just dropping dudes on the train was great. The visuals gave a great feel to what is otherwise an overused scenario in games

yeah the soviet seargent or whatever was like "ok go out there charge no turning back!" and you're wearing a frikin' coat for armor and then he says something like, "if you turn back we're going to shoot you." or something. i was like .... oh damn it must suck to be a soviet. Please Log In to post.
