:) Where it belongs. Not on the list. ;)
MURS-
theirs no possible argument you could make saying the gameplay was bad so basically you hate it because you dont like rap music or the characters
exactly...he hates nigs is what I get from that... uncalled forOnly w-iggers like San Andreas. It should stay in the junk pile with the other arcade driving games like Saint's Row. All (Grandmaster) flash and zero substance. Getting a jet pack or a UFO to drive around is the definition of Jumping The Shark... dr-venkmanAren't opinions great? :) I'll admit, the story did go overboard in some places (the whole area 51 jet pack thing like you said). I loved it not for its story, but for the gameplay, and IMO, San Andreas had some of the most fun missions and a lot of fun things to do on the side. I can understand if somebody thinks otherwise, because we all have our own opinions, and it's stupid to insult people for those opinions, like you just did.
Vice City by far. It captured everything about what "Grand Theft Auto" stands for in a perfect package of over-the-top '80's styIe combined with hilarious and very well executed political and media satire. Along with a soundtrack that basically epitomizes the 1980's music industry.

This. Absolutely no contest. Vice City made me fell like I was in the 80s. It made me appreciate so much 80s music. The others did'nt capture their time period as well. The only knock I have against it is that the land mass was small. But that is a microscopic blemish on the face of near perfection.
Third best game ever made IMO.

Hey SA had a great rock station almost as good as Vice Cities
IIRC I dig every single song from that station... plus the other stations were cool too (except the country one :P)
I liked "All my Exes Live in Texas" :) Only country song I like. :P Voce City also had the best radio. Pressing Issues with Maurice Chavez > any other program in any GTA.Vice City: The missions were still fresh and original. Flying and boats. Miami Vice meets Scarface. But the best part of the game? One of my top-5 favorite video game soundtracks of all time. Come...only the soundtrack of Vice City has "placed" you more in the time period than San Andreas or GTAIV
Honorable mention: GTA3. It was amazing at the time. My friends and I would just take turns destroying the city. This GTA had the most "Wow" factor for me.
Worst: GTAIV. I rather play the first two GTAs on a pc emulator. The graphics are terrible for next-gen hd. The soundtrack is bland and not exciting. The missions at this point in the series feel tedious and uninteresting. But because it sold so well I am expecting more of the same in the next GTA console installment.
Story - GTA3 or GTA4 Fun factor - San Andreas, with GTA4 being behind by a small amount Music - Vice City Atmosphere/Art Style - GTA3 (this might be nostalgia talking)angry_forkMay I ask: what was the story in GTA3? I never finihed it (got about 33% of the way through the third island) and I never noticed any kind of connected plot. :? I was just some mute guy going around the city doing jobs for mob bosses and crooked cops.

The plot isn't the most well written of the 4, but what I meant really were the bosses themselves, for instance I had a really good connection with Donald Love, and I was sad when he vanished. That's one of the characters I wish I could see again in another GTA.
GTA3's story is mainly about Claude and Catalina with the obvious 'do these missions' inbetween, but it was the first one to do it like that, the first 3D GTA to really let you become a mafia kind of guy, so I guess that's why I like it so much.
1) gta san andreas
2) gta vice city stories
3) gta vice city
4) gta 3
5) well i would put gta4 here but i didn't really like it

No offense, but I think you're letting nostalgia cloud your judgement. Vice City just seemed to have a much better plot to me. I too Liked Donald Love and Avery from. Yea I definitely won't disagree, nostalgia is making up for a big reason on why I still love GTA3's story.i haven't played the DS title yet. So I'll go with GTA4 I loved the story and characters and it was the only GTA title that didn't bore me to sleep.
1: VC = story, feel of the game, soundtrack
2: SA = things you could do, leveling system
3:LC = graphics, memorable characters (good and bad)
More of you GTA fans need to try Chinatown Wars! Seriously!!! its friggin amazing! 8)
And not getting enough respect in SYSTEM WARS, because its on a handheld :P
I'll pass on China Town Wars. It looks like one of those crappy 2D GTA games.San Andreas
San Andreas San Andreas. The story was a mess at times but the most important thing was that it was fun and had the most diversity.San Andreas[QUOTE="DealRogers"][QUOTE="porky_ownsu"] San Andreass3KtOr
San Andreas
ive spent so many hours after finishing the game just, flying in a hydra, messing around then jumpin out and parachuting my way to my girlfriends house dressed up in a gimp suit to get some.,then try to beat as many cops up with a **** till i die. so much fun that game....san andreas wins.More of you GTA fans need to try Chinatown Wars! Yes it's got all those things, but none of those things are what makes GTA, GTA... People like to have fun doing crazy things... driving like a crazed man, jumping out of airplanes, being a one man army that doesn't have to dive for cover every 30 seconds... GTAIV just isn't GTA.Grand Theft Auto 4 by far. The world is just so much more lifelike and alive. Then you add the awesome phsyics and great feeling gunplay and that game is just a blast.
