Let me put it this way, if you pass up on GTA:CTW because it's on a handheld then your NOT a fan of GTA.

Seems i'm the only one who liked the top down action of GTA1 and GTA2 more than the other gta games

Whats the best Grand Theft Auto game in your opinion?

Ive owned every GTA game so far and imo GTA ChinaTown Wars on the DS is the best of the bunch. Sure it doesnt have the best graphics and its on a handheld, but its got the best story, missions and art design imo. Also has some fantastic music for a ds game! And the most important part of a game... Its the most fun out of the GTA games!

1. gta3 - was the turning point for the series, and i thought it was the most awesome

2. san andreas - was a bigger more featured vice city pretty much.

3. gta4 - despite some dissapointment some of the missions and general polish of the game was awesome

4. vice city - awesome, but too much like 3 and not a good as san andreas or 4.

5. gta - used to be awesome to play

6. gta london - like gta only in london

haven't played chinatown wars, and have on played a bit of liberty city stories, so far it's just ok.

no gta game can beat the awesomeness of gta3

I'm going with GTA IV, but I haven't played Chinatown Wars yet.

The fact that Chinatown Wars has held it's own speaks wonders about how well recieved it was.

Out of the GTA's I've played, here is the order from which I think is best to worst:

SA>GTA3>GTA4>VC

Yep SA is not only my favorite GTA ever, it's one of my most favorite games ever :)

GTA 4 kind of got boring unlike SA but I have been playing it the past few days and I've really been enjoying it. I had played GTA4 and beat it 100% but that was before the trophy patch :( so no trophies for doing all that :(

GTA3 was my favorite game until SA. it was my first GTA game, and wow was it fun. I remember playing it with friends for 5 or 6 hours at a time doing nothing but causing chaos.

VC is my least favorite in the series, it was great, but out of the other GTA's I played, it was the least fun to me :P

Vice City and Vice City Stories

(Music is awesome and that is the only thing I do after I beat the game drive around and listen to the Music and Vice City's had the best music of the series IMO.)

San Andreas and Vice City are my favourites

Overall I can't decide between SA and IV.

Best atmosphere VC.
