That was an insane amount of work to put into something like SW. I bet theres someone with a sympathetic ear for you to talk to in your real life someplace. Maybe a teacher or friend?

It may be time to consider putting some of that energy into yourself as opposed to SW.

Just an observation.

I just like to get things out of my chest. I sincerely feel that the PS3 is in a much better shape than the 360 right now. Well, according a recent analysis by Pachter, the 360 sales might go down by $400 million this year compared to last year, while the PS3 will go up by that amount.

Like I said before, Sytems Wars will be a tougher and tougher place to be a lemming. Prepare for a lot of good news for the PS3 this year.

Wow this is the first time for awhile I have seen the lemmings twisting in the wind over a post.

The only thing I can say is that while cows still wait for the PS3 to hit its full potential, Xbox 360 owners are playing games and having a blast now.

WHITE: THE COLOR OF FEAR Actually, in some cultures white is considered a holy color, representative of cleanliness and unity.

When we are scared, our blood rushes away from our face, making us look pale. The 360 looking so white reminds me that it has plenty to fear: White Blood cells also protect our body. Completely unrelated to gaming, just as your statement was.

1) Fear of dying (RROD) I have to agree. My 360 (Launch model) makes some scary noises, but it's still chugging along so I'm happy.

2) Fear of future games. The 360 had several good exclusives during its last two years. But now things are looking bleak. It upcoming exclusives, apart from Gears 2, are basically lesser known, lesser anticipated games--none with the ability to significantly move consoles. Just about every industry analyst worth his salt has said the 360 will have inferior games to the PS3 in 2008. If you say so. I could care less as long as I get the games I want. Now, link for the last part or I don't believe it.

3) Fear of maxed out capabilities. In 2008, what game has Xbox fans used consistently as the standard bearer of amazing graphics? Gears of War! Yes, a 2006 game. After dozens and dozens of games since the 2006, not a single game on the 360 has topped Gears of War. If this is not a sign that the 360 has maxed out or is very closed to being maxed out, I don't know what is. I personally like Bioshock's art direction more than any games technical prowess. That's just me though.

4) Fear of Xbox 720 coming out too soon. Rumors of Xbox 720 coming in 2009 or 2010 has surfaced. Halo 4 is nowhere in sight (Perhaps Microsoft is holding out for the 720). RROD is still not fixed. Japan has already dug a grave for the 360. Europe is digging or threatening to dig one now (that's why there's a price drop), every month in 2008 the USA has seen the 360 beaten by the PS3 in sales. This fear is truly justified. Rumors are rumors, nothing more.

5) Fear of abandonment. So far Microsoft is known to ignore, abandon its older child when a new born arrives. Remember the first Xbox and how much support it gets after Xbox 360 came out? Yep. Insignificant support. What happens to the 360 when the 720 comes out? If you take history seriously, the 360 has reasons to fear. The original Xbox was losing money. The 360 is making money... take from that what you will.

6)Fear of low resale Value. Who wants to buy a used console that is the most unreliable in the history of console gaming? People who buy used consoles or games are probably too cheap to pay for LIVE fees. So it's gonna be hard to sell the 360 console or games when moving up to the 720, which seems to come out pretty soon. And that HD-DVD add-on? Yeah. You know what I mean. I'd gladly pay for the LIVE fee, even though I hate it too, than pay $40 for a game demo then another $60 for the full game. That's just robbery.

RED: THE COLOR OF DANGER

Red is also the color of passion and love.

1) Red stands for Warning: Console is Unreliable. Think about certain species of snakes. The red color means danger. Fortunately, the 360 is not dangerous to the gamer, but to itself (Red Ring of Death) and to its DVDs (disk scratching--to be fair this problem is not as prevalent). Certain species of snakes also have other vibrant colors. Orange, yellow, green, whatever. By the way, the black widow, a dangerous poisonous insect, is predominantly black. There is also the black viper. And the Black Mamba. If you had actually researched the topic, you'd know red is hardly the only color that indicates danger in the animal kingdom.

2) Red is also the color of dangerous flames. Flames burn. LIVE fees burn your wallet. 50 dollars a year. 250 dollars in 5 years, more if you include interests. This makes the 360 a more expensive console to own than the PS3, if you play online that is!!! Why buy the 360 if don't want to play on-line? Again, I'd rather pay the ridiculous LIVE fee rather than a $40 demo.

3) Which gaming company this generation is most likely to burn in hell? Microsoft. It caused the most suffering, anger, and resentment. Microsoft has lied, denied, and still do about the reliability of its consoles. 3-5% failure rate? Liar! Objective analysis have come up with as high as 33% failure rate. Microsoft also lied when it says HD-DVD was the best for consumers. 300,000 gamers suffered because Microsoft. An unecessary format war lasted more than a year because of Microsoft. So yeah, Microsoft is without a doubt the most evil company this generation. I thought it was 16%. Still, I have no proof so I'll just let you hang onto that 33%. And I fail to see how it was Microsoft's fault; they had no vested stake in the console war. Lastly, I didn't realize entire corporations could be sent to Hell. I thought it was an individual thing... but hell! What do I know?!

GREEN: THE COLOR OF ENVY Green is also the color of fortune and luck.

1) Envy of the PS3's power. The PS3 is the most powerful console on the planet. Xbox 360 fans might say, but it's pretty much the same. Games look pretty much the same. To me this denial is just another form of envy. Especially in 2008. If you look at Grant Tourismo 5 and not see the PS3's superior power, well, you should examine the integrity of your character. Will there ever be a good looking game on the 360 with 60 players online? On the PS3 there's Resistance 2. Because the PS3 has yet to be utilized to the fullest, I wouldn't say envy is the right word to use here. Had you said worried, I may have let it slide.

2) Envy of the PS3's larger Blu-ray disk. The 360 uses last-gen DVD9. Disk swapping remains an issue. For some genres, Large and long games with amazing graphics are impossible or impratical on the 360. If you are a sound snob, you might not want the 360. HD sounds take up too much space for the 360's DVD9, but not for PS3's Blu-ray disk. The 360 has made great games using DVD9. Hell, the Wii has a handful of great games on DVD9. Many of which consistently score very well and generally well recieved. Blu-ray, while promising, has yet to prove itself.

3)Envy of the PS3's Blu-ray movies. If you want the best versions of the movies, 1080p, HD sounds, Interactive extras, you can only find them on Blu-ray. I actually agree with you. Blu-ray movies are pretty sweet.

4)Envy of PS3 owners having a Blu-ray date. PS3 owners have a peace of mind knowing that they allow their girls to watch the the BEST versions of the movies at the privacy of their rooms. This is not to say that physical and personal compatibilities are less important than a Blu-ray player. They are more important. But a girl always appreciates it when you get her the best of anything, including movie qualities. :) Since you keep bringing it up, I'm going to expose of you on it. In this thread, while you were still going by Nogginkl, I asked for proof of your supposed girlfriend and how you possibly have the time for her when your constantly on System Wars. To which you replied, you were in the house because of a back injury. You also said you'd go away once it healed up. Now, my knee cap was kicked out and healed fully during that time (About a month) and yet you're still here. Back injuries are nasty, but by this time you should at least be restrengthing and excercising. You're obviously lying somewhere, though I can't say that surprises me. Admit the truth, you have no girlfriend and Blu-ray dates = fail.

5) Envy of the PS3's exlusives. Exclusives that don't go to the PC. Exclusives that have a long, respectable hisory: Gran Tourismo, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, Tekken, etc. Plus other exclusives like MJB 2008: The Show (The best baseball game in the market today), Resistance 2 and it's huge multiplayer and innovative co-op gameplay, Killzone 2, Little Big Plannet, etc. The Ps3 has some great exclusives. So does the 360. But you have a point about them being ported to the PC, but that doesn't effect me. I still play them on my console.

6) Envy of HOME. Not out yet. But it's like a free game that's always evolving, always there on the console. A next-generation place to see and be seen. Home looks sweet.

7) Envy of the PS3's love all over the world. Yep, the world loves the PS3 more. The US is starting to love the PS3 more, too. Okay. I'll just nod here.

8 ) Envy of the PS3's silence. During that part of the game or movie when silence is suspenseful, the 360's buzzing sound can be quite disruptive and annoying. It can also be helpful. I always know when it's on and sometimes it even wakes me up in the morning. :) To each his own.

This post might seem biased towards the PS3, but the lists are reasonable, and the implications are clear. The PS3 is simply the better choice. Xbox 360 fans can only use past games in their argument for so long. This is already 2008. Bigger and better games are starting to come out. So far the best 2008 games are on the PS3, and the future looks much, much brighter for the PS3 than the 360.

Sihanouk

Your post is biased. They always are. But yeah... usually I'd keep my mouth shut. But your fanboyish ways always get me to respond. You're good for that. But anyway, chew on that for a while. And until you provide me with proof of you and your girlfriend, I'm branding you a liar.

And basing your argument off of colors was stupid, plain and simple. Colors differ greatly from culture to culture or even from time to time.

WHITE: THE COLOR OF FEAR Actually, in some cultures white is considered a holy color, representative of cleanliness and unity. I am using the colors from a systems wars perspective, to point out the insecurities of Xbox 360 owners.

Fear 1 stands.

I am too lazy to find links. Pachter, the most accurate analysts of them all, seem to think so. (I dare you to find links of any respectable analyst who thinks the 360 has bette (more highly anticipated) games this year. Use common sense. You seem like a smart guy. Fear 2 stands.

Fear 3 stands.

More than just rumors. A few analysts have gone on records saying the 360 will come 2009, 2010, or 2011. Only a few more years. Fear 4 stands.

The 360 hasn't made money yet. Microsoft is trying to fool people by setting aside more than a billion dollars for RROD in early 2007. Recent profits haven't made up for RROD spending yet. Even if the 360 profits overall, how likely and how much will Microsoft support the 360 after the 720 comes out? Remember most analysts predicts the 360 as coming out 3rd place. Don't forget history. Fear 5 stands.

Live fees are mandatory! The game is way more than a demo. In the 20 plus years of gaming, have you heard, seen any demo that is as big and has as many features as GT5p? You don't have to pay for the game. I don't like paying for basic online play when every other gaming platform is free. In any case, Fear 6 still stands.

So, while you give your take on the fears above (in a fair way, I have to say), you haven't proven that these fears are baseless. They are all signifcant and real.

Again, I'd rather pay the ridiculous LIVE fee rather than a $40 demo.See above. You are not being fair when you label GT5p as a demo. You are forced to pay LIVE fees not GT5.Bad analogy.

I thought it was an individual thing... but hell! What do I know?! I am only trying to point out that THIS GENERATION, the gaming company that's most evil is Microsoft. It's obvious.

GREEN: THE COLOR OF ENVY Green is also the color of fortune and luck. It's also the color of Envy.

Because the PS3 has yet to be utilized to the fullest, I wouldn't say envy is the right word to use here. Had you said worried, I may have let it slide. Envy is the right words, may be not for all Xbox 360 fans, but for many I am sure. It hasn't reached its full potential yet but the evidence of the PS3's superior power are getting clearer and clearer.

In my eyes, it already has. This is an advantage Sony and its exclusive developers must and will exploit. It's just common sense. Remember developers are now spending less time on creating game engines and more on game contents. Contents use up space. Think MS4 and other exclusives coming this year.

3)Envy of the PS3's Blu-ray movies. If you want the best versions of the movies, 1080p, HD sounds, Interactive extras, you can only find them on Blu-ray. I actually agree with you. Blu-ray movies are pretty sweet.

Admit the truth, you have no girlfriend and Blu-ray dates = fail. I care less if you or anyone think I don't have a girl. ...last Wednesday I had my first *kiss* below the steering wheel while I was driving! yeah. Don't believe me. I went to work, and my back got worse.

Seriously, know any good back strenthening/stretching exercises?I checked the web. none helped. I guess, I need an MRI done.

I never said imy post is not biased. It's very reasonable, though. I do appreciate that you respond in an intelligent way. Go ahead, call me a liar. I am not, and I won't prove it. My girl is too sweet and nice for me to use her just prove it to you guys. Think about it though. You seem to have access to my provious posts. Read them. I have always argued fairly within the scope of system wars. A smart guy who fights fairly doesn't need to lie about having a girl. You know how pathetic I would be if I did that? How can I respect myself? Pathetic guys usually don't have the self-confidence that I have. Use some psychology.

I am not using color as the reasons to buy a console. I use colors to bring out the insecurities of xbox 360 fans here. I am positiive that lemmings have more insecurities than cows. It's just common sense.

Remember most analysts predicts the 360 as coming out 3rd place. Don't forget history. Fear 5 stands.

Again, I am just using colors in a systems wars perspective.

Again, I'd rather pay the ridiculous LIVE fee rather than a $40 demo.See above. You are not being fair when you label GT5p as a demo. You are forced to pay LIVE fees not GT5.Bad analogy.

I am only trying to point out that THIS GENERATION, the gaming company that's most evil is Microsoft. It's obvious.

GREEN: THE COLOR OF ENVY Green is also the color of fortune and luck. It's also the color of Envy.

Envy is the right words, may be not for all Xbox 360 fans, but for many I am sure. It hasn't reached its full potential yet but the evidence of the PS3's superior power are getting clearer and clearer.

I still play them on my console.2008 is the year of the PS3.

It's just common sense.

okay, you are a liar. Since you want to bring out the bad points in the 360, bring out the bad point in the ps3, or can you?

Alright, the flaws of the ps3

-Hard to develop for without a lot of money

-the servers for online play can be shut down without warnining

-blue-rays ablility to hold 50 gigs of data is fine and dandy, but when a games exceed dvd9 , Then its needed. and that with content that make games better, not uncompressed audio files

-the controller is just a ps2 controller that copies the xbox 360 and wii controllers

-the sony big name exclusives are hyped far more than the 360, yet somehow bioshock, a game that had little advertising, sold more on the 360 than Hs,Lair and Rc, and uncharted, games that had a lot of advertising

-if your theroy that the 360 is maxed is right, then what does that make the ps3. since a ps3 game ported to the 360 is pratically the same, but a 360 game ported to the ps3, the 360 version looks better. answer me that

-Blue ray dates. I say that you are either lying or misunderstanding your girlfriend if you think blue-ray is the reason she likes you.

-in 10 years, the xbox 360 and ps3 will both be useless because by then the xbox 720 and ps4 will be backward compatible with thier respected consoles, so that argument useless.

-the 360 sales, which had only one pricecut in 2 years,is on par with the ps3,which had 2 price-cut in a year.

-the software sales for the 360 however, trumps the ps3 software in every way possible. and even before the 360 reached 17 million, it had million sellers in its first few months, most which were exclusive games, the ps3 only had 1 million seller in that period of time.

-after next week, we'll see how the 360 fares in europe with the pricecut

-the 360 will improve its failure rates like the ps1 and ps2 during its lifetime

-if mircosoft releases the 720 on 2010 with a better format, what do you think sony will do?they will release the ps4 of cource

-the ps3 home, you say it will be innovative, but its bascially a 3d chat room.it is similar to second life and even mmo, so lemmings won't miss anything

thats a lot of flaws in the ps3, i haven't listed them all because i don't have the time. of course ,you and every cow i won't take seriously ,would disagree.but don't worry, when another lemming, sheep, and hermit point out the flaws in my counterpost, I will admit i was wrong about the ps3.

Good Lord. While you Cows are sitting there staring at your consoles admiring its choice of color, I'm staring at my television playing games on it. I'm not one for fanboyish comments like that, but this is thread is stupid.

Wow, you touched a lot of people with that post. Personally i don't care which console is better as long as i can play the games i like. And if it means waiting a couple years till the 360 is reliable, and playing all the MPs on PS3 with free online then so be it. The PS3 is just the right choice for anybody who wants to play games.

Pokeratxbox

Alright, the flaws of the ps3

-Hard to develop for without a lot of moneyThat was before. Now complaints about how hard it is to develop for isn't as common. Things will only get easier in time. As for costs, I haven't heard devs complain that it costs more to develop for the PS3. If it is true it's probably insignificant; that's why it's not a common complaint.

-the servers for online play can be shut down without warnining.Servers on the 360 can also lag and prevent players from playing. Remember the difficulties during the holidays? The PS3 also uses more dedicated servers and allow for MODS. Also, the best FPS at the moment, Call of Duty 4 plays best on the PS3 because better online (Gamepro).

-blue-rays ablility to hold 50 gigs of data is fine and dandy, but when a games exceed dvd9 , Then its needed. and that with content that make games better, not uncompressed audio files. Uncompressed HD surround sound can be a real treat to sound fanatics. 1080p movie quality cutscenes will favor the Blu-ray disk as well. How can you not see that 50 gigs are better than 9 gigs? Surely, developers can make good use of the extra space. It's just common sense. You will be disappointed this year as more and more games on the PS3 look better and bigger because of cell and blu-ray.

-the controller is just a ps2 controller that copies the xbox 360 and wii controllers. With rumble and sixaxis, the PS3 controller is definitely more nextgen than the 360.

-the sony big name exclusives are hyped far more than the 360, yet somehow bioshock, a game that had little advertising, sold more on the 360 than Hs,Lair and Rc, and uncharted, games that had a lot of advertisingYou are getting desperate by bringing examples of advertizing into the discusion.

-if your theroy that the 360 is maxed is right, then what does that make the ps3. since a ps3 game ported to the 360 is pratically the same, but a 360 game ported to the ps3, the 360 version looks better. answer me thatEven more desperate by using a bad example. A bad port says nothing about the power of the PS3. More likely it says that some developers are still having difficulty programming for the PS3 or have yet to use the tools Sony sent out to make things easier.

-Blue ray dates. I say that you are either lying or misunderstanding your girlfriend if you think blue-ray is the reason she likes you. I never said Blu-ray is the reason. I said it feels good to have a peace of mind knowing that I am allowing my girl to watch the best versions of the movie.

-in 10 years, the xbox 360 and ps3 will both be useless because by then the xbox 720 and ps4 will be backward compatible with thier respected consoles, so that argument useless. There's still use for the PS3...in 10 yrs, gamers now might have little kids needing a blu-ray player in their room or a gaming machine. Graphics this generation will be more than good enough for younger kids 10 ears from now. That the PS3 will have more support, makes the PS3 more valuable now.

-the 360 sales, which had only one pricecut in 2 years,is on par with the ps3,which had 2 price-cut in a year. This example is actually good for the PS3! If the PS3 can match the 360 in sales without the big guns coming out, expect it to do even better in 2008 when the big guns come, and with Blu-ray as the HD movie standard.

-the software sales for the 360 however, trumps the ps3 software in every way possible. and even before the 360 reached 17 million, it had million sellers in its first few months, most which were exclusive games, the ps3 only had 1 million seller in that period of time. This is obvious. The 360 has a year head start, which currently gives it a larger install base. Speaking of install base, the PS3 is catching up, fast. Analysts expect the PS3 to surpass the 360 by 2009. Every month in 2008, the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan, Europe, and the US. I don't think its a good idea to bring up console sales now. The 360 will lose.

-after next week, we'll see how the 360 fares in europe with the pricecutWouldn't it suck if the 360 don't sell that much more than the PS3? But you are right, we will see. My bet is that it won't sell that much more than the PS3 if at all...then after a few months the PS3 will be back on top or Sony will lower the price as well.

-the 360 will improve its failure rates like the ps1 and ps2 during its lifetimeAlready 2 and half years after launch, and the 360 is still unreliable. Microsoft will pay for this during the next generation when 360 owners get upset over their broken 360s after the warranty.

-if mircosoft releases the 720 on 2010 with a better format, what do you think sony will do?they will release the ps4 of courceNot necessarily--it depends on how much better the 720 will be over the PS3. Graphics are already approaching photorealism (GT5). To be significantly better than the PS3, will cost a lot more to sell and to develop for--approaching movie budgets--it doesn't bode well for next gen consoles. Developers and gamers might be too satisfied with this gen to go to next gen en masse. You can bet that the difference between the 720 and the PS3 won't be as big as the difference between the PS3 and the Xbox. Think Windows XP and Vista. XP owners don't want to upgrade as much, because XP is very good already.

-the ps3 home, you say it will be innovative, but its bascially a 3d chat room.it is similar to second life and even mmo, so lemmings won't miss anythingMany won't like it. Many will do. At least it's there, always free and constantly evolving.

thats a lot of flaws in the ps3, i haven't listed them all because i don't have the time. of course ,you and every cow i won't take seriously ,would disagree.but don't worry, when another lemming, sheep, and hermit point out the flaws in my counterpost, I will admit i was wrong about the ps3.You made a decent effort, but you haven't done much to disprove that the PS3 has a lot more going for it than the 360. I suggest you come to the forum out of curiosity, to get the most recent news and fan reactions. But if you come here hoping the 360 will "win" this war, you will be very disappointed. The 360 will be in last place.
