As a Console Gamer, Simcity is one of the few games that I play on the PC. I was honestly looking forward to this game, but this DRM crap just killed it for me. I understand Piracy needs to be stopped, but when will these companies learn that they can't keep coming up with asine ways to stop piracy that only hurts an honest consumer?
I'll just stick to Simcity 3000. Pretty much the same game, most modern PCs can play it, and no idiotic DRM. This has gone too far...

No piracy shouldn't be stopped. This is pretty much the reason that we need piracy. Do you really think that if there was no pirate on this planet, they wouldn't do these kinds of things? They would because it gives them more control over your money.I'll have to agree with you on that point, EA would simply be using another excuse to do this. To them, its all about control and I would not be shocked if they start introducing "tiered" gameplay plans with the excuse that they have to matain the servers. What sickens me is how we reached this point. Back in the day, I could pop in my Simcity 3000 disc into a computer, install it, and be playing the game. The most that might be asked of me was an installation code. Now, it takes an act of congress to even play a damn game.
Really, is EA stupid? The just cost a potential customer that would have bought this game. I'll just stick with Simcity 3000 and watch this game crash and burn. I am not going to have a video game company play god with my save files, and decide when I can and can't play. On top of that, this is a company that his infamous for shutting down servers. From what I'm reading, without the servers there is no way to save your game.
Which means I'm not going to spend money on EA's little expermaint in stupidity. I have Sim City 3000. That's more then enough for me. At least I can do this "old-fashioned" thing called saving my game to a hard drive.
