well due to a few polls that have sprung up as of late, the following pecking order of dark denizens have been catagorezied=

5.The chimera (a distant last)

4. The Locust ( a not so distant 4th)

3. The flood ( a close 2nd)

2. The Necrons ( close but no donut)

So who is number 1?

well the current hot rod is the Zerg, but that throne has been challaged by the Tyranids from the game workshop!

who will win? you decide!.........to the extent of what one vote can do

tyranids easily. Overall the power level of WH40K races is beyond anything in Starcraft. Tau alone would wipe out all three Starcraft races

You obviously don't know what Tyranids are capable of ;) but its really unfair to compare them, since they are the most feared race in the Warhammer 40k universe, and all race that universe all extreamly powerful

Tyranids, hands down. The only way the Zerg can win is if they managed to assimilate one Tyraid and steal from it's genetic material while evolving based on that instantly. Afterwards, it's a standstill.

Uh... the Tyranids are pretty much the greatest and most powerful race of beings ever theorised. Their power is limitless. They cannot be stopped... I don't even understand how the other races in the 40k universe survive attacks by Tyranids. The Zerg would be destroyed by the Tyranids quite quickly... quite.

I can argue that Saiyans in their primeare the most ridiculously overpowered species ever. I seriously believe that if a SSJ4 wanted to, he/she can practically destroy several galaxies five times over.

As for why Warhammer 40k races survive attacks from Tyranids, they possess the most powerful weapon of all: Plot devices dictated by the 40K community.

They managed to survive so far because the tyranids only have a few scout fleets within the galaxy. But yea, if they came in full force it would pretty much be over for everyone.

That, and what redmoon said.

Imagine the Zerg. Pretty fearsome, right?

Now imagine the Zerg were exponentially stronger in every single aspect. Then you'd be close to approximating the Tyranid.

This one wouldn't even be fair. If the Tyranid were trying, they would sweep across the Zerg like they were nothing, and suck their planets dry.

One thing about Warhammer 40k races...they barely show their full might. I guess thanks to the limitations of tabletop games they can't really show what they are made of ingame.

Anyways, it's like each race will just dumps a few battlions on a planet and hope for the best while the Space Marines scream "heretic!" along the way.

No thats not necessarily true. Nids are an alien species to the galaxy. The hive mind is located in a completely different galaxy. Nobody knows how many galaxies they have already wiped out. Its not that they dont care for the other races, its just that the main force hasnt arrived yet. And its probably going to be a long, long, LONG, time until they do.

If you want to imagine what tyranids actually are. Imagine the zerg took over an entire galaxy. Now imagine that they evolved into being much more efficient killing machines, and now imagine that they started expanding and consuming other galaxies as well.

No that is way too fast. From my memory (I havent played 40k in years) it takes a few weeks.

Question. Even though the Tyranids are stronger how do they win without Templar Energies, Psi Emittors or something like that? Cerebrets and Overminds will just keep coming back? But then again they could just slaughter everything else lol.

Terra-Raping as its nicknamed takes a couple months for a small planet and a few months for a large planet, this is dependant on resistance of local species as well. And tyranid hives move slow, there fleets move slow, this gives great advantage to the other races in planning for there attacks, however on the ground they are a force to be messed with (imagine zerglings with guns ffs, its an army of walking death).

A fight between the zerg and the tyranids would be quite interesting actually, although in there full force the tyranid would wipe them out, a couple of the hives in the 40k universe as it is right now however and it would be a even match and quite a good show.

Cerebretes and the Overmind don't fight man. They have no offensive capabilites at least none that I know of. I know they can regenerate countless times unless killed by Templar energies.

Seeing how the Zerg and Tyranids are pretty much the exact same thing it's probably a tie.

Terrans=Imperial Guard/Space marines

Zerg=Tyranids,

Prottos=Eldar.

The same could be done with every Warcraft race as well :D

The Tyranids are numberless.  They have huge swarms as well as huge mosters.  They can absorb the genetic code of those they kill to make themselves more powerful.  Tyranids pwn all

Norm Queens are the most crucial part of all hive fleets or anything within the tyranid race, they not only make the tyranid (which are recycled (killed) after each terra-raping) but they are able to make many kinds of tyranid and modify there genetic structure however they want. They can make whatever they want to adapt to ANY environment.

Yeah dude...I know...But do u even know what a nid titan is. Do u know all of the different kinds there are. Do u know that nids could probably evolve into using their own version of the templar energies?

dzaric

Templar energy is a Protoss Trait that simply cannot be copied, especially since fallen Protoss Warriors often don't leave behind bodies. The fact is that the energy needed to finally kill off a zerg cerebrate/overmind must be from Xel'Naga creation, otherwise it'll keep on reviving.

The Tyranids can, however, cut off the psychic link cerebrates have with their Brood, thus giving them the advantage.

As I stated before, the only way the Zerg would win is if they managed to get stray Tyranids, assimilate with them and ripoff their genetic code. The Zerg has a high chance of doing this since for some stupid reason, the majority of Warhammer 40K races tend to fight in small skirmishes, not large scale war. Then again, as mentioned, this is due to WH40K being a table top game.

I vote Zerg, because I can.

But since people are dicussion other powerful forms: Everything is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

Seeing how the Zerg and Tyranids are pretty much the exact same thing it's probably a tie.

Terrans=Imperial Guard/Space marines

Zerg=Tyranids,

Prottos=Eldar.

The same could be done with every Warcraft race as well :D
