When was the last time MS won the game awards have they ever ?
Both Halo: Infinite & FH5 won a few awards tonight. What are you going with this?
They REALLY struck out with the Performance, Art Direction, Game Direction, and Narrative picks. They were downright bad.
Never really care about the winners of these things, and as I said, I'm not a multiplayer person. That said, I'll say this: there's a reviewer I still follow after all these years who reviewed Josef Fares's previous games very harshly; even unflatteringly comparing A Way Out to David Cage games and naming it one of the blandest games he played that year.
He liked It Takes Two. I think that alone makes it a worthy winner.
It Takes Two is actually a video game. A Way Out tried to be an indie looking movie game. Without the top notch visuals, movie games fall flat. It Takes Two is very clever with how it handles the 2-player mechanics and puzzles. This is direction more of these "b-tier" studios need to take. Stop trying to be interactive experiences, and bring back gameplay!
MS got robbed, no halo, no forza, not even deathloop goty
It would have been fun to see the cows have a meltdown. Too bad

FH5 won the "inclusion award". You should be more specific about what award it won and shower it with all the praise it deserves, you monster.

I wish that IT2 was playable single player.
Excuse me, but I have to bitch about Space Marine II again. As a 25-year Warhammer fan ('nids and Orks main, but also really like Necrons, Guard and Sororitas), it's just something I have to get off my chest.
Space Marine 1 was good and had ace gameplay, but I still can't get over having to play the smurfs, man. I admit I was never an Astartes fan to begin with, but of all the Chapters available, why does it have to be the glorified military nerds and their amazing space accountant dad? At least let me play as one of the cool Chapters like the badass Mongolian bikers White Scars or the pyromaniacal nice guys Salamanders. Hell, I'll even take the Space Furries. Actually, no, I wouldn't take the Space Furries.
Sorry about that. It's out of my system now. I'm done. It won't happen again.
Watching the Matrix Awakens Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. Very impressive stuff.
On your Series S?
Not yet but it could be a possibility. 😅

I wish they would just retcon The End Times for Warhammer Fantasy, terrible way to ruin a franchise.

Yeah, I pointed you to an edit of my earlier post before. I agree. The End Times just read like bad fanfiction. AoS is okay-ish these days, but it's not the same, and I'm still no fan of the Sigmarines.
At least we're getting The Old World soon.

Didn't see it.
I think Warhammer Fantasy needs to move away from the Empire and do stories about Grand Cathay, and have them lead the narrative. Their Warhammer III Total War reveal was a landmark moment in the franchise.
That Best Performance pick....................I really think games journalism has a problem dealing with race and it shows with this award. I am not calling them racist, but I really think they really don't think about the issues well at all.
Here you have a landmark AAPI lead who had a complete downright emotional performance, a famous black actor playing a villain role pretty well, and two black lead characters who define their game.
And a white actress who was in for only 18 minutes, was basically the first boss, wins because of all the internet memes and fame, acquired before the game came out.
This along with other telling aspects (like calling Cyberpunk 2077 racist against Asians while ignoring involvement of Asians that played a role in the game while ignoring the moments where they talk about it somewhat) tells me while they may think themselves as progressive and mocked as "SJWs", they actually struggle with racial issues. The acclaim for Bioshock Infinite still shows me this as well.
@texasgoldrush: You're really taking this hard.
I would not have said what I have said if either actor for Deathloop won.
The least deserving actor won that award.
MS outdid Sony tonight! They managed to create a game (Hellblade) with even less gameplay!

Good on them for including all brands from Toyota to Ferrari. Inspirational!
@warm_gun: only the first movie looks real. The sequels is very cgi heavy.
The sequels have tons of practical stunts, models, real sets and effects, but that's not even the point. It's about how the world normally looks when nothing is happening.
Well done Xbox studios for winning 6 awards and best looking game shown in hellblade 2
How many awards did Sony win?

Hellblade2, the game that just entered production? And wtf kind of gameplay was that? You walk in a straight line? lul nice 'game'.

Have to agree, I'm cool with smurfs being used in promotional material (because they always are) but give me the option of other chapters or better yet give me custom options.
@hardwenzen:
Sorry it was 6 XBS awards, join me in congratulating Xbox on a great night and ninja theory for such graphical wizardry
HappyConsoleGamer's thoughts. Agree that it was way too long and way too many advertisements. They made this mistake years ago and for a while I thought they learned from it.
Well done Xbox studios for winning 5 awards and best looking game shown in hellblade 2

I agree the gameplay didn't look that interesting. But I always thought you favoured graphics over gameplay and the graphics looks stunning.
Soo no news of part 2 of the FF7R, but instead we get a shifty spinoff title that looks absolutely terrible!! At this point I have died of all age before SQ finishes this game…
@warm_gun: Let's just ignore all the weird and mostly wrong stuff you've been posting, have you seen the 4th film in it's entirety? Cause otherwise you're just coming off as a cringey edgelord just hell bent on trash talking a film you haven't seen yet.
What wrong stuff? What are you talking about? Reeves not shaving his head? What else?
If you look at posts on my old account, you'll see I was optimistic for this movie before most of you. But there have been so many warning signs since then.
Strange how no one cares if a person is hyped about an unreleased movie but it's the completely opposite if they criticize it.
@warm_gun: only the first movie looks real. The sequels is very cgi heavy.
It's also worth pointing out that the Animatrix isn't bad at all since it goes more towards the lore of the movies and so with that, The Matrix & Animatrix are the only 2 worth watching.
As for the new film, I'll just watch it through HBO Max so I won't waste time heading to theaters.
Well done Xbox studios for winning 5 awards and best looking game shown in hellblade 2

What game did i praise that had this little gameplay? None. Hellblade2 has less gameplay than David Cage games, and i can't stand those.

Graphical wizardry of walking in a straight line. All the 12tflops were used for walking in a straight line. You also through a spear, which is incredibly demanding on the hardware as well. Best gameplay i've seen for a game in years🤣

The director have new art direction she wants to use maybe its part of the new simulation its more cheerful. Better lets just wait for its release than complaining on little details.
Anyhow sequels or this new film suffers from the lore getting complicated. The keymaker plot and the matrix loop plot from matrix reloaded was just stupid and this new movie about neo forgetting his role also probably another dumb twist neo actually really ded and this whole time the crew was trying to manipulate some bot to their side. Idk hoping for a good one.
@simple-facts: what happened to not liking movie games? Not a movie game anymore being published by Microsoft, huh? Also, this looks nothing like the reveal which Xbox fans swore up and down was "gameplay".
@texasgoldrush: 🤣 We tried to warn you that trashy game wasn't going to win.
Ummmmm....Games For Impact.....
But Erika Mori will get the top award in performance, The Leading Role BAFTA. And Maggie Robertson is not guaranteed to win Supporting Role there.
