The Greatest Resident Evil Game....of all time

This is a tough questions, I have played every single resident game ever and loved most of them but I have to say that RE 4 WAS THE BEST BY FAR, followed by resident 2, resident evil 1remake for gamecube and then resident evil zero.

dont know about xbox but i played on ps3 and then pc and its like a different game, totally enjoyable this time.

RE4 followed by RE3. CV comes next

Resident Evil 4 was sooo good. I enjoyed Revelations on the 3DS and RE3:Nemesis was really good also IMO

RE3 for me. 

RE2. Code Veronica was good too and RE3 was not so bad either.

If RE4 was that great, then why isnt RE5, RE6 as they are carbon copies with a few additions.
RE4 was full of QTE's and got the most appeal and for that, gained more fans and support.

REmake is by far the best Resident Evil in the series.

REmake. 4 is the best game in the series, but lacks that RE "feel".Zeviander

RE2 by a long way, great story, actually about surviving, actually zombies, couldn't get much better.

RE4 second but for me it was more action adventure than actual survival horror and that was the turning point in the series and where was the zombies.

I know I won't win any popularity contests... but this is my opinion, from my experience.

RE4 is near the back of the bus because in a day when there is no excuse for sloppy controls, it still has them. Also... SUPER EMO lead character....

Man it is sad how overlooked the Outbreak games were....

Outbreak File #2 was soooo much fun back in the day! Unfortunately it required playing online on a console that pretty well lacked online functionality and community.

I feel like that game would have been much better received in a world where online had been the standard....

I think RE1 on GC was the best resident evil game, but code veronica is a good choice.

Can you name 5 TPS's that had smoother controls back then? All TPS were pretty damn clunky. It wasn't until GRAW and Gears that we got to see really smooth transitions.

And yeah the controls were clunky, but the game is still playable to this day, you can give the old games a pass if you want but they sure are shitty to play with now. :lol:

Not to mention, if you want to play RE4 with easy controls, play the Wii Edition, and you'll see that if the game had controls like Gears of War, it wouldn't have been as good as it was. (Way too easy.)

Trick thread, there is nothing great about  RE.

The remake of RE1 on Gamecube is the best. 2nd place would go to RE2 and 3d to Code Veronica on the Dreamcast. RE4 and everyhting after arent even RE games any more.

I almost feel like the reviews the game got were from people who only played offline....

The online in that game was awesome. Very hard mode was INTENSE and only really managable online (granted I had beaten at least one level offline on very hard).

Definitely was ahead of it's time. Would love to see that series brought back!
