[QUOTE="DA_B0MB"]I used to play PC FPS alot. The controls are pretty good but honestly it's not going to blow the controller away unless you want absoloutely pin point accuracy. Both are highly enjoyable though and people shouldn't avoid PC FPS or console FPS just because they feel the other side is inferior in any way. Both work fine. hydrophoboe
I have to disagree. The main reason most people THINK FPS feels better on a console is because of things like autoaim. It doesn't require much skill, but it's a necessity--the precision is nowhere even close. So, I'd say PC gaming is more dynamic. I'm not constricted by what resolution the game is allowed to run, I'm not constricted by the controls, and with mods and patches the whole experience is much better.
If any FPS--PS3, Xbox or Wii were to come out with a simulataneous launch of a PC version, unless the PC version had really bad performance or was missing content, I'd choose it simply because consoles are so contricted.
I can overclock my PC, upgrade it, and change the config files within every game. Consoles will never be like that because Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo doesn't want morons screwing around with the inner-workings. PC is totally different and I'm glad that open-endedness is there.
So, basically, the only reason I even touch consoles is for the games. No way in hell is it for the graphics, the price, the capabilities, or the controllers and periphials.
I can see your point but I was just talking about playing the FPS on a console or PC. PC beats consoles hands down in extra features like mods and things of that nature, and not just in FPS. Autoaim is neccesary, but it doesn't ruin games unless it's overdone. Halo 2's auto aim almost ruined it for me but the gameplay was so good I didn't mind all that much. Console shooters do take skill though. Have you ever seen those no-scope videos from Gears of War? Yes there is auto aim, but that doesn't mean there's no such thing as a tough shot because of it.
Both PC FPS and console FPS require skill to seriously own at but in the end the PC has the advantage because it's controlls are simply sharper. Allbeit, the sontroller isn't a stroll in the park when it comes to those crazy shots.
