Halo is great but some of your points are just plain wrong:
-Complex characters - NO
-Involving and deep storyline - NO
-Saved the Xbox - Thats hardly 'pioneering'
-Made LAN parties cool - No it didn't
-Vehicles - I'm not too sure if you're correct with this.
-Orchestral music (before it everything was just bleepbloop synthesized music) - Another NO.
Halo has pioneered the following in videogames:
-Dual wielding
-Recharging personal shields (every FPS today copies it)
-Dedicated grenade button
-Dedicated melee button (melee is actually useful in Halo)
-Complex characters (master chief, arbiter)
-Involving and deep storyline
-Saved the Xbox
-Made LAN parties cool
-Saving and sharing replays
-First ever console FPS to include a map editor
-Perfectly streamlined online play
-Vehicles
-It is so good that games nowadays are referred to as "Halo clones," and some, like Haze, try to be a "Halo killer"
-Orchestral music (before it everything was just bleepbloop synthesized music)
-AI that becomes more intelligent on higher difficulties instead of just having more health.404-not-found
So insanely untrue
[QUOTE="Euroshinobi"]ha classic If all fanboys would write a stack of insults and then insert "JOKING MODS" phrase in there, I guess SW would be out of gas(people) :P @mitu123 What saddens me more is that they think the world is a friend of theirs or two who support their opinions, if these friends "do" exist in real life of course ;) Yeah, that's just how it is, LOL.[QUOTE="thespywholied"]

Elaborate.MC IS a deep character. he talks not so often which makes it easdir for the player to be reognized as a player alone, which IS deepWhile I do like Halo's story I cringed when you said Master Chief was a deep character.

I will admit halo was a great game and so was halo 2 but halo 3 was a rehash and was very disappointing IMO. I barley played Halo 3 online.
My personal fav. fps this gen is Killzone 2.
Story isnt that great neither are the characters but the gameplay and controls are just my cup of tea. No auto aim any more since the patch.
Now i tried to play Halo 3 after playing K2 and man the auto aim is atrocious and so is the recharging life i can never go back to halo after Cod4, and K2.
K2 has a recharging Lifebar to a point it does not heal u all the way just like Resistance 1 and i like that. You cant go run and hide for 5 seconds and be at full health.

what i mean by that is that it's a GOOD thing that MC is pretty SILENT and doesn't talk so much and doesn't SHOW HIS FACE. because that puts the PLAYER better in his role, if u know what I mean, LOL u don't understand, whats ur Iq 80? anyway, i think that is deep, because it makes ppl more in him and ppl more realize who they r and better connect with themselves while playing halo thats why HALO player MC is DEEP.what i mean by that is that it's a GOOD thing that MC is pretty SILENT and doesn't talk so much and doesn't SHOW HIS FACE. because that puts the PLAYER better in his role, if u know what I mean, LOL u don't understand, whats ur Iq 80? anyway, i think that is deep, because it makes ppl more in him and ppl more realize who they r and better connect with themselves while playing halo thats why HALO player MC is DEEP.TheHeroism
Does anyone else see the irony in asking if your IQ is an 80 when you can barely spell any word, full of grammatical mistakes, use commas like periods, incapable ofcapitalizing words except as a poor method of emphasizing, and have deep, thought provoking statements like "it makes ppl more in him"?
EDIT: Im going to assume your response, if you even bother to respond will either be a short "whatever dude" or a poorly written message trying to convey the thought that "spelling and grammar aren't important because of 'X' poor excuse."
Nobody on this forum can't deny the impact of Halo on the industry, the fact that it could revolutionized the FPS and RTS and bring a genre PC-exclusive to the masses. The only proof that you need is the fame of the Halo name, you could ask a random person about Halo, and there's 99% chance that they know what Halo is, or the have played it already. You could say Half-Life and you'd luckily get responses.
Halo has pioneered the following in videogames:
-Dual wielding - Pretty sure even Goldeneye had that feature.
-Recharging personal shields (every FPS today copies it) Games use it because it's nice, but there are some that don't (Half Life being one of them)
-Dedicated grenade button Right, smooth combat controls have always been a major feature of the Halo series
-Dedicated melee button (melee is actually useful in Halo) Same as above
-Complex characters (master chief, arbiter) I don't know about that really *brings up Half Life again*
-Involving and deep storyline *brings up Half Life again*
-Saved the Xbox I'd agree here
-Made LAN parties cool Nah, they're still just a bunch of sweaty nerds with pizza stains on their shirts playing games :P
-Saving and sharing replays Donno if anything had that
-First ever console FPS to include a map editor hmmmmm
-Perfectly streamlined online play I do like the online
-Vehicles hmmmmmm
-It is so good that games nowadays are referred to as "Halo clones," and some, like Haze, try to be a "Halo killer" Right, but no game can get the smooth combat controls right for some reason. That's what puts Halo online above all else imo
-Orchestral music (before it everything was just bleepbloop synthesized music) Agree, the music is pretty awesome
-AI that becomes more intelligent on higher difficulties instead of just having more health. yes
