Because Tech like that has been possible since the DS's inception. ANd this is Ninty we're talking about here.. We could expect a crap load of 25 yr old franchises and no 3rd party support, after a yr or 2.

The possibilities have already been displayed all througout this generation. The WiiU is basically an oversized DS. And as we have seen with the DS, there are many ways in which multiple screen's are useful. Anybody who's played Metroid Prime Hunters, knows how much better it is to aim with a touchpad than it is to aim with dual analog. Hopefully they take a similar approach with the WiiUThere is hardly any information or games announced for it. I see the WiiU ending up a lot like the wii in terms of innovation. Its great to think about the possiblities of a tablet controller (which I particularly do not like), but when games try to capitilize on those possiblities, it ends up holding the system back. I need to see much more at E3 before getting excited. There is also the possibility of one controller per console. These mysterious features about the console is getting in the way of excitement.

The lack of excitement is because we havent really seen anything yet. W8 for E3, I believe that will have us excited more then enough :D

We don't know enough yet and what would be truly disastrous is if the more we find out and are shown, the less excited we get. :o
We shall see soon as E3 is closing in fast. :D
After the Wii I don't know what to expect but I hate the tablet idea.
I wanted an experience similar to GC, just a controller and console. BUT NO
THAT WAS TOO HARD.

But seriously I'm not buying it anyways, if I was I would be following it more closely.
It should be. Casuals will not fall for Nintendo again so you can cut half of the sales right there. Half of the really hardcore gamers are either ober the gimmicks or over the same old franchises and gameplay so half of them will not bother. The only people who are looking forward to it now are hardcore Nintendo faithful because they refuse to learn their lesson and for reasons unknown thinks Nintendo can do no wrong. They arfe the same people who will look you dead in the eye and claim Pikmin is better than Mass Effect, Uncharted, and Halo. And ou can tell they are serious about it.
I will give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt but I expect to be dissapointed come E3. They will have 1 game that looks amazing and one decent looking title and then a bunch of ass. Everyone will ignore the ass and talk about that one product like it is the second coming of Christ. That is how it works with Sheep. After I heard the new Smash Brothers would be compatible with the 3DS I knew my 3rd favorite Nintendo game (After Pilotwings and Waverace) was ruined by ancient graphics and stupid gimmicks.
Same old Nintendo........
Maybe you shouldn't bother with Nintendo anymore if you don't EVER see yourself pleased with them. I get the feeling that even if they do what you ask, you'll say the same thing.Same old Nintendo........

No. I would be happy if Nintendo released an actual next gen console, made some new IP's that don't involve Mario and Zelda, and would take online and hardcore games like Racing, action, FPS, and WRPG's seriously.[QUOTE="WarTornRuston"]

nintendo is going to do what makes them money you have to deal with that
and they do make new ips not there fault you overlook them
We know little, but we do know the controller is supposedly comfy. There isn't much to be excited about, especially when we know so little about the console.
All I see is a 7th gen console with a touchscreen controller that's way to big to be comfortable for anything more than 15 minutes of playing.

What do you know, most of those genres aren't really Nintendo's thing as they aren't too much for action, they don't bother with publishing their own WRPG series. The only thing racing they have left is Mario Kart and still might not bother with F-Zero for a LONG time unless Miyamoto gets over the GX/GP Legend/Climax fiasco and Geist killed whatever chance they had with FPS games (Metroid Prime 3 doesn't count). You realize that they can't deal with every genre, right? Not even Sony/MS bother with most genres.[QUOTE="WarTornRuston"]

So, I'm still going to say it: DON'T BOTHER with Nintendo anymore. Because I really don't see you EVER being pleased with them even if they do give what you want.
Because Nintendo isn't known for building beefy systems.Truth_Hurts_UN64 and GameCube weren't beefy?
N64 and GameCube weren't beefy? N64.... My Pentium 200Mhz MMX with 96MB of EDO RAM and Voodoo Rush stomped it. Even when I had my 4MB video card it was still better. GameCube was alright for it's time. It's controler sucked like the N64 and Xbox was a better console. My AMD Thunder Bird 1.2ghz with 1.5GB of SDRAM and Geforce ti 500 was still better.[QUOTE="Truth_Hurts_U"]Because Nintendo isn't known for building beefy systems.nintendoboy16

When has consoles ever surpassed PC hardware? It isn't really fair to compare a console to PC hardware as it couldn't be any more obvious that it was going to be stronger then that. Still, to say Nintendo has never released beefy hardware is just wrong.[QUOTE="Truth_Hurts_U"]Because Nintendo isn't known for building beefy systems.Truth_Hurts_U
I just don't see the use of a tablet with a console. Yea you can have a map or something but i'm not going to be wanting to stare are something in my hands well i'm playing on a tv. I have a tablet love it but i see it being more useless than anything

SaltyMeatballs
Comfy for how long and for what types of games?
Playing CoD on that thing for 3 hours straight is a bit different than a 15 minute tech demo.
I'm somewhat excited for it. And am curious how the tablet will work out with certain games.
I remember when the Wii was first announced and when the controller was first announced. I remember being like "WTF is this sh*t" and hating the idea. but once the initial shock of something so different eventually faded away, I became a bit more open to it. Today, I am okay with the Wii-mote and motion controls. Admittedly though Nintendo didn't really take the motion controls as far as I would have l thought or as far as I would have liked, and the controls could certainly have flaws, but at the same the tme the Wii-mote got some decent usage at times as well, and I had some great experiences with the Wii, from retail games to Virtual Console, so the Wii was worth it in the end for me.
So I've learned that I shouldn't really judge something that is new and different without really trying it out first. I thought I would hate the Wii due to it's new controls, but in the end I actually liked the Wii and didn't end up hating the motion controls anywhere near as much as I thought. I do look forward to the Wii U, and even it's the tablet controller doesn't meet it's potential and ends up a bit of a disappointment, I'm postive there will be a decent library of games and some terrific games to be released for the system, whether it be retail or from the Nintendo Network, and that's all that really matters in the end to me.
Nintendo is trying to innovate by giving us a table & console whose capabilities are unimaginable! And yet you all fail to make posts speculating, wondering, and expressing your excitement over the console and the yet to be revealed games a month away... And you call yourselves gamers.Second_HokageI strongly agree with you. Look at how the 3DS is doing right now. What if they release a new Kid Icarus game for the Wii U or show a new trailer for it.
Well, there's not much to be excited about when there was barely any news about it's games in almost a year now (except "we're working on them").
Agree or not, Nintendo left us in the dark for almost a year so they better impress on this year's E3.

I see nothing comfortable about a huge controller, looking at another screen mid game and not having sticks but circle pads
Seems like a disaster TBH, it could be the worst controller of all time
Well i'm kind of done with Nintendo home consoles. Nintendo will have to earn my interest.
I'll wait a year, year and half after release before I believe any hype from them again. Between now and then they could say whatever, it wouldn't make a difference. I just don't trust them.
And why would they care about me? Because i'm like a lot of core gamers wondering what the hell happened. And the console better not be weak, i'm not buying another current gen console.
That said, very temped with the 3DS right now. So not completely done with Nintendo. Their handhelds are pretty good I think.

It's supposedly not even a multi-touch screen. Sounds like corner cutting to me.
We know literally nothing about it. We've seen no games. Lack of excitement = expected at this point kiddies. I'm sure when they bust out Super Smash HD or something all the little Nintendo fanboys'll need a change of pants.

Theres a nice hype thread for it on Vgchartz, everybody on this website is always negative and most of the time theres nothing but a bunch of people complaining here thats why I never come to system wars or comment on any more threads here anymore.

Resistive > crappy Capacitive.
1. Nintendo has kept very quiet about the WiiU. After getting bagged at E3 last year for the release and having nothing to say about it and Reggie, being interviewed and talking about checking boxes, this for me didn't enstill me with excitement. 2. Rumours are going around about the specs. All of which is very underwhelming as a potential consumer. Is it as powerful as a 360 or more so, is it more powerful than a PS3 or more so. Everything I have read leaves me feeling this WiiHD and is about as powerful as the current gen systems. 3. I recently saw that Dev kits are in mass production. What, isn't this system meant to be released at the end of the year, if so I would have thought the devkits would have been finalised and optimised well before then. If they want quality games at Launch (which Nintendo has come out and said it is why the Vita as struggled a bit as there hasn't been a great number of great games on release, same as the 3DS.) If he says he as learnt from it, surely we would be seeing some footage leaked. This is my opinion about why I am not excited about the WiiU. If you are dissappointed that there is a general lack of excitement, then start drumming some up.mike_on_mic
nintendo doesnt leak anything, thats how they always been.we dont know how strong it is an there been more reports that its alot stronger then current gen consoles so idk where you got your info from

Not the kind of innovation I'm looking for.
