Uh, it's a cinematic trailer, I wouldn't bank on it looking that good when it releases.angelkimneNope it was all made in game, according to GT

Modeling and texturing a realistic human is easier said than done.
i feel the decision to have the kid that way is so that he can be easily distinguishable in the game. Anyways, please dont make this game all about the graphics because its not. just say its beautiful artistically and leave at that.[QUOTE="-PuLse"]

Please iam getting sick of people mentioning Crysis its not a game its a tech show what the use of great graphics if the gameplay sucked like hell.
Are we just mad that there is no game as of yet to beat cryisis. or you can't run it to see it for wht it is. A GREAT FPS done like no other go anyware... and it feels like real war
with the lush jungel and mad amount ofenameys coming at you. BUT DONT HATE BECUSE YOU CANT AFFORD TO PLAY IT

But it doesn't look very good the world and the animal are all rendered in a realistic style but the boy looks like a cartoon character. Are you sure? I mean, the beast is huge, it has thousands of feathers that react according to the wind, very good textures, awesome animation and has no loadings in what it seems to be a huge fortress. It is very impressive to me. BTW, when I rewatch the trailer, I usually see litlle things that IMO prove that scene is actual gameplay footage. Like the part when the creature is climbing and when it's running in the falling bridge. The last action shot, the one where the kid runs in a plataform, also looks gameplay to me. This one:Artistically, Probably. But technically this game doesn't impress me at all.

Oh wait...
Team ICO always uses in-game engine for cut scenes. Sorry the KZ2 comparison is way off. And KZ2 got pretty damn close to that trailer so even in those respects you still failed.[QUOTE="exiledsnake"][QUOTE="Shad0ki11"]i feel the decision to have the kid that way is so that he can be easily distinguishable in the game. No. Crysis is far from a tech demo.[QUOTE="-PuLse"]

People who bash Crysis never actually played the game.
well I did play it that game was fun but in a stupid way but it only lasted for 60 mins first 30 mins = the shock of the game graphics and 2nd 30 mins = having fun crushing all the weak enemies with you ultimate weapons then you get bored of the game and never play it again.
you lack imiginatio and creativity i have played crysis through 3 times already and replayed several of the levels a few times wasn't boring to me alot of fun actually. You're doing it wrong.[QUOTE="-PuLse"]

Crysis is unlinear to the point that there are limitless ways to beat a level. I spent the first few hours of the game playing the level over again seeing how all the different ways I can be it. You can't do that in a linear FPS like KZ2 or Halo.
Limitless ways?
There's usually two ways to go through levels in Crysis.
you can do the smart thing and stealth your way through, or you can just shoot. No matter how you complete it the outcome is the same. Most of the land mass is impossible to reach because it's up a steep hill, and you can't swim too far until you die. It's really just a standard linear A to B FPS but with the illusion of an open world.
so explain to me which game doesn't boil down to that? and which fps you consider to be unlinear.YAWN.
When will they ever learn. Non gameplay CGI Footage does not equal great graphics game?
You don't own a Playstation do you? How many times have Sony pulled this stunt?
hywel69
Team ICO never uses CGI in their games if you played the previous 2 you will know that.
The last guardian utilizes a lighting engine that's never been used in any game before, it's more natural and close to reality then any lighting engine has ever achieved. The way it reflects off the creature and the way it passes through the outline of the creature but where the creature is it's dark. It looks like real light, not the overbloomed stuff you see in a lot of games. And the creature looks like the most realistic thing ever created in a virtual environment. I'm sure when this game comes out it will set the standard for next gen visuals.

You make it sound like that hasn't been done before. The lighting isn't anything special and the graphics are not that amazing either.
You're doing it wrong.[QUOTE="-PuLse"]

And how is Stealthing or shooting limited options? Please tell me another game that does that and it actually works.
And their are multiple paths to take on the objective. That's what they meant when they said OPEN WORLD. like in the 2nd mission you could charge the front gate, cause a distraction by blowing up the gas tanks, Sneak in through the forest, or make your assault while hiding in the water. And still I haven't said all the paths you could take to accomplish that objective.
And once again I think this proves that you actually need some creatively before playing Crysis.

There is no Crysis on a console.
End of the day this is a console game and it looks amazing.
Any game on the PC could have bettertextures andgraphics purely because of hardware and resolutions.
To bad this is System Wars and not console wars.
I played both Ico and SoC on my PS2. Great Games. SoC I think was one of the best video games of all time. Specifically because it introduced a whole new type of game. You can look at my review for it.
A ton of cows always try to use God of War as "THE" game, but personally, you can keep your God of War. Team Ico is where it's at.

If you want to bring thePC into things it will beat everything. Both 360 and the PS3.
Dont see how you can compair a console game to a PC game.

I don't think any expected to feel bad for the Colossus in SOTC. I felt like such a douche every time I killed one.
