Looks like another sad day for lems. Not one Xbox exclusive made the top 5 🤣
The Last of Us isn't exclusive 😂
Well, it was never exclusive to PS3 as it came to PS4. So it lost its exclusivity since last-gen.

No, but it's better for you 😂 @daredevils2k
@Jag85: Or maybe it was selected by educated individuals with fine taste for gaming. And if that was the case, how do you and @jaydanJaydan explain all the video game developers officially ranking TLOU as #2 greatest game of all time (right behind Zelda BOTW, Bloodborne in 4th) ? You think the industry's top devs and journalists chose TLOU as second best game ever made because of TV show?=
I guess if helps you two from crying at night, then go with it.
Nothing to explain there, I'm not explaining the subjective opinion of others (you're better off asking them).
What you really need to understand is I don't agree with it, and that's perfectly fine.
Hopefully your mommy bought you a new pack of adult diapers, you will need them tonight.
An opinion based from a survey will always get criticism here especially if these 2 factors are apparent:
1. The source is a non gaming group.
2. When they are praising a Sony exclusive.
What a Sony fanboy thing to say. Can't say I've ever seen a "best ever" list without criticism. Can't say I see Sony at the top of the list every time, yet criticism always stands.
It's like whenever a game scores a 10/10 here, there will always be a crevice of individuals that care to write an essay why it's not a 10/10 in their opinion. Happens every time without fail.
But hey, Sony victimhood leaves a fanboy jaded so you probably can't see what rational eyes can see.
Oh please, don’t act like Sony exclusives don’t get scrutinized here. It seems like a group of fans from every faction here are anti Sony/ps fanatics. If you want to close your eyes, then by all means go on ahead, but don’t throw shade at me for acknowledging the playing field.

Never said Sony games don't get scrutinized here; what I'm saying: all of them do. If you don't see that that's because you're too busy being a Sony fanboy and you're too distracted taking it personally to be bothered over every other platform that also gets scrutinized.

All games do get some type of scrutiny, it’s just that Sony or PlayStation games tend to get it more.
@ermacness: You've got to be kidding. MS games are the ones that get the most scrutiny, that's not even up for debate, that's a fact.
I mean we're in a thread about a Sony game getting the "greatest game of all time" award from a website and you're in here complaining that Sony's games get scrutinised the most 🤦♂️
Jayden is right, and you're just further proving it 🤣

That’s a whole lie. Does TLoU and Uncharted ring a bell? Heck, even GOW 2018 and Ragnarok gets scrutinized here, especially when compared to the 1st 3, and don’t forget that when those 3 were in their prime, here in SW they were considered “bottom tier” in the hack n slash genre even though those games usually scored better than most games within the same category. Also let’s not forget Forza, in which people either hate it because they don’t like racing games in general or like/love it. Forza get very little scrutiny here (I’m not saying that it deserves it, but just further proof that not all MS games get scrutinized). Now I’m not talking about the low scoring games, but the blockbuster games with great reviews and/or great sales that gets scrutinized here if their exclusives, tends to be PlayStation exclusives.
BTW, I did say HERE as in SW. PlayStation games don’t see the amount of scrutiny elsewhere that they do here. Learn to read.
@ermacness: I read what you said, you just can't comprehend what I and others have said to you 🤣
And the Sony showcase got 640 comments on here and the show was horrendous with mostly live service crap. According to me, the Last of Us, developed by Naughty Dog, is often regarded as one of the greatest games of all time by both critics and players alike. Released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and later remastered for the PlayStation 4, it captivated audiences with its gripping narrative, memorable characters, and innovative gameplay mechanics.
The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world devastated by a fungal infection that turns humans into hostile creatures. Players assume the role of Joel, a smuggler, who must escort Ellie, a young girl who may hold the key to finding a cure, across dangerous territories.
What sets The Last of Us apart is its emotionally-driven storytelling. The game explores complex themes of love, loss, survival, and the human condition, weaving a captivating narrative that resonates with players. The relationship between Joel and Ellie is at the heart of the game, portrayed with remarkable depth and authenticity, making players genuinely care about their journey.
The gameplay mechanics combine elements of stealth, exploration, and intense combat. Players must navigate through immersive environments, scavenge for resources, and engage in strategic encounters with both infected and human enemies. The game's challenging combat forces players to make difficult decisions and emphasizes the harsh realities of survival in a post-apocalyptic world.
The Last of Us is also known for its exceptional production values. The graphics, sound design, and voice acting are of the highest quality, creating a visually stunning and immersive experience. The attention to detail in the environments, character animations, and facial expressions further enhances the game's realism and emotional impact.

Thank you ChatGPT.

1. You’re a lem yourself, so I’m basically talking to a brick wall.
2. All you just showed me is that the ms show had more comments. I’m willing to get you that not all of them were bad, just like all of those comments about Sony show were good.
3. I stated my reasonings behind the matter. On SW, high scoring Sony exclusives get more scrutiny than high scoring MS or Nintendo exclusives.

After Sony's show only one thread from ghost about Spiderman's graphics was made, and none from any of the games shown on the day or after from what I saw. As soon as MS show was over there were 2 threads criticising Starfield and about 5 or 6 within days, a thread criticising Forza Motorsport 8 etc. A thread criticising the chick in Fable etc.
Like I said MS games gets criticised here more. You just get upset when someone disagrees about the score etc of a Sony game. Build a bridge and get over it.
I've played all three of those games
The Last of us is probably the best story driven game I've ever played. I don't normally go for those types of experiences (I'm a known Uncharted detractor), but the Last of Us really worked for me. Having said that, it wouldn't cross my mind for best game I've played. Probably wouldn't crack my top 20
Breath of the Wild is my personal favourite game of all time. I have not played a better, more progressive and immersive open world game ever since and that includes TOTK.
Elden Ring might have impressed me more in a different time. A time where I hadn't reached Souls fatigue or played Breath of the Wild already which puts Elden Ring's open world to complete shame. Elden ring didn't really merit the open world format. It was just souls again in an open space. The focus of the series is combat and not exploration or interacting with the world. That didn't change with Elden Ring.
Gonna be fair and honest…
Shenmue and Socom 2 are infinitely better than TLOU. I mean it’s a great game and all but there quite a bit better.

You defaulted to the reactions of both showcases??!!!
Of course it wasn’t much buzz behind Sony showcase because it was BORING! MS on the other hand was from what I gathered much better than Sony. What I’m saying is that if Forza was touted as one of the best racing games in the market, there would be very little disagreement with that sentiment. If Uncharted 4 was touted as one of the best tps in the market here (even though it received a 10 here and many other sites), UC4 would see MUCH more scrutiny with it‘s praise than Forza would.
Now try to tell me I’m wrong lem.
@ermacness: You're wrong.
Yes MS show was better than Sony's and yet there were multiple threads criticising MS games and none criticising Sony's live service crap.
And yet you need to go back to UC4's score of 10 to make an argument lol.
Do you think UC4 was a 10/10 game? You would be hard pressed to find someone who isn't a cow saying yes it was. Which game do you think is better UC4 or LoU 2?
@dabear: I was just about to mention Zelda: OOT.
I find it funny how Zelda:OOT has finally lost its way.
The Last of Us used to always battle Zelda:OOT for being #1 game of all time. Now The Last of Us is always battling Zelda:BOTW for best game of all time.
I think in a few years we'll see TLOU vs Zelda:TOTK...
@outworld222: I am afraid not! Empire readers seem to have agreed the entire gaming dev world that The Last of Us and Zelda:BOTW get first and second place, and that a From Software game must be in the top 5 (#3 Elden Ring and #4 for Bloodborne respectively).
@ermacness: You're wrong.

1. The only thing I saw Starfield getting criticized on was the 30fps, in which was a valid point because of a MS representatives stating that ”60fps is the standard” and then your biggest exclusive of the year coming in at only 30fps does leave some applicable room for some scrutiny. Now with that, even though Starfield went through the criticism it went through it still pales in comparison to “1080pReturnal” and the SSD debacle of Rift Apart it terms of scrutiny.
2. Yes I go back to UC4 score because the only other 10 rated games that I seen to received just as much scrutiny as UC4 were: GTA4, and MGS4 (in which was a ps3 exclusive at the time).
3. I do see why UC4 received a 10/10 rated score and no matter how you and your faction wish it didn’t, it did, and it’s an opinion that was shared with more than just GS.
4. I can‘t compare the 2 because I never played TLoU 2.

1) And yet there are 3 threads on the main page here criticising the graphics, 30fps and for how many planets have life on them, loading screens etc, maybe you need to look again.
2) UC4 is not a 10/10 game, there are HUNDREDS of games that are better than that game, it getting scrutiny over its score is justified, but MS games get scrutinised more still.
3) I don't care too much about scores for the most part, I only knew it got a 10 here because a cow posted it on SW back in the day.
4) How convenient that you haven't played LoU2 because most people believe it's better than UC4 and yet only got an 8 here. If you do play it, hopefully you post about it here complaining about how it got a low score.
MS games are still more scrutinised and your posts haven't changed that.

@blamix: All the salty tears because the biggest anti-Sony forum in the world constantly has to read PS exclusives like The Last of Us always getting listed as the greatest game of all time. Must hurt.
@last_lap: THe difference is the MS games are complete garbage while Sony has been making genre-defining, ( 4 out 5 GOTY winners in a row), and #1 GOAT winning titles like The Last of Us getting scrutinised by dumb fanboys on this board.
criticising and scrutinising masterpieces like Shawshank Redemption or The Dark Knight is not the same as criticising a Michael Bay Transformers movie or a B-tier straight-to-DVD zombie movie.
I think the HBO series contributed heavily on the result. personally i love the game but i can think of few games that i enjoyed more.

It always amuses me when movie casuals think they're smart mentioning movies like The Dark Knight and Shawshank Redemption. It's like baby's first foray into cinema. Watch more movies is all I gotta say.
Hummel also A) A better character than the Joker and B) a better performance by Ed Harris, he didn't die on drugs or whatever so no easy cheat bonus points
Ohhhh. Joker Evil. He's Batmans OPPOSITE. So deep.
Meanwhile Hummel has an actual story and arc.
New Joker sucks as well BTW. It's just a hipster version of Falling Down, superior movie.
