First of all i did not send it because the factory warranty 'at the time was" only 90 days so that only would have worked with the 360 Elite and by that time i had enough of the 360 and second of all i play video games every day of my life and i wasn't about to send it back to them, and be without a console from any where to 3 to 6 weeks, especially when i heard that they just replace the RROD units with older refurbs.

Seriously, you have a warrenty with MS if it breaks to get it fixed and I'm not even talking about the RROD warrenty. If anything happens to your 360 that soon as in his story you can send it back for free and get it fixed, and this is with every respectable company that produces hardware. With the RROD Warrenty you now even have a bigger fail safe plan since not only after the electronic warrenty is over you still got the 3 year RROD warrenty.

Um, you said it lasted six months. By then the warranty was one year. You said the second lasted seven months. By then it was three years.

Uh yeah you need to re-read your story because your very first 360 was in warrenty.

Sending back the first one wouldn't of got you a referb since they had no referb's at that time. You would of got your system back repaired or a brand new one.

I know you guy's are going to take one look at my user I.D. and just consider me another troll, but in all honesty Microsoft made me into a PS3nut, i mean don't get me wrong i had a PS2 back when but i traded up for an original Xbox, in fact i got up at 3am to wait outside a Best Buy for 5 hours that cold day in NOV 0f 2001, and i was really happy with it, i picked up Halo and Football, NFL Fever i think and collected title after title until 2005 when i did it all over again accept it was a different Best Buy and this time i waited 20 long hours in the rain.

A lot of people thought we were crazy, but it was all worth it to those of us on the line, but believe it or not that 360 i waited all those hours for gave me my first Red Ring on the very first day, So i took it back to Best Buy that night and they actually remembered me from the line and gave me full credit on a new one when there next shipment came in, then that 360 lasted about 6 months before the Red Ring came back and at that time there was no warranty, but i had a good collection of games and my local game store gave me store credit on the games and hard drive, and then i bought another 360, which lasted about 7 months before it's Red Ring, now by that time the PS3 was out and so was the 360 Elite, which i was told by my game store guy's that it was supposed to have a bigger heat sink and a cooler running chipset, so again i bought a 360 Elite and 2 weeks later...Yup you guessed it Red Ring of Death, so by this time my game store guy's felt so bad for me that they offered to swap it for whatever i wanted.

Now i've been know to be a glutton for punishment but enough was enough i was going broke and so i told them to give me a 60-gig PS3 and that was almost 2 years ago and guess what ?, the PS3 has not given me one bit of trouble and i've played a lot of great titles on it for endless hours, and all the headaches and expense i had with Microsofts console, not to mention the Live membership i paid for and lost compared to Zero headaches with the PS3 and the free online, i have built up a deep hatred for Microsoft. How ever i do admit today i own both consoles because there are some exclusives i choose not to live without, such as Halo, Mass Effect, Fable 2, Gears of War, on the PS3 side Gran Turismo 5, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank, Killzone 2, God of War 3 so now in 2008 i have my consoles but i'll always prefer the reliability of the PS3's hardware and because of the Red Ring i will buy all multi platform releases on PS3 and only 360 exclusives on Xbox 360, so as not to endure a big loss again in games if my 360 goes Red Ring...and there you have it, thats how Microsoft created this PS3nut.

You got a launch 360 (November 2005) that RROD'd.

6 months later, you had a second 360 RRoD (April 2006 or so).

7 months after that, you had another RRoD (October/November 2006), but say that the Elite was out at that same time. The Elite did not come out until the end of April, 2007.

If the Elite was out when your 360 RRoD's, it was in mid 2007, not 2006, and by then, MS had extended the warranty to 1 year (Dec 2006).

Something seems weird, because I don tknow anyoen who got THAT many RROD's. Perhaps you are a genis book record holder for that. I've had my elite for over a year and not a single issue with it what-so-ever and to top that off, my furnace blows right on it in the winter. (as does my ac in the summer). You obviously have a deep hatred for MS and only posted this thread to show off your fakeboy-ness to try and make the RROD problem the issue again. Everyone knows it was a problem, and that sux, but no one really cares anymore about your problems. Go sit on your PS3 and play those 2 games you so deerly love. Actually, this happens. RROD is the only problem I got with the 360, everything else is good.

lol Yeah I have some bad luck with electronics for some reason even though I take good care of my stuff. Atleast all I have bought was free to fix.

My launch 360 died and I sent it back and I got it fixed for free

My launch PS3 stopped reading disc's and I got it fixed for free

My new CPU died and I got it fixed for free.

The power of warranty's are a wonderful thing, and to try to fathom why in hell he would spend more money to get a new one rather than fix it is beyond me.

You had no need to buy a warranty, and your console was under the warranty that comes with it at all the times you listed.

First of all MS will fix an RROD console well beyond the expiration of the warranty, for free. Second, as many people have already pointed out, your time-line is off.

You should spend more time working on your BS story's.

It's not about the exact points of time my friend. One of your accounts was SIX MONTHS off. The elite was nowhere near out by that time. Not even announced. Not even rumoured.

And you not "investigating the warranty crap" basically means that you wasted a bunch of money needlessly. So again, not a hatred of microsoft at all. This is all your own actions. Seem's like you should go to counseling to get some help on your patience problem. If you have no patience to wait for a console to be repaired then I am very scared what will happen to you when you have children or something else more important comes up in life that makes you wait. The majorly silly thing about the post is that it WAS under warranty; which we know because he kindly provided us with timeframes. He didnt have to say that at all but he did and shot himself in the foot.

As for "investigating warranty issues"; a fold-out warranty information card is the first thing you see when opening a new 360.
