I agree with Conviction. Just making me think about Dead Rising pisses me off, they had the best concept and promise but completely destroyed it with trivial things such as no survivor shortcuts, time-limit and other minor stuff. It seems to be an theme because I also find myself very dissapointed in Dead Island and Left 4 Dead 1-2. Also Twilight Princess, Oblivion and Metroid Other M are easily at top of the list

I thought you loved Other M. :\Cherokee_Jack
Indeed I did/do. That doesn't stop it from being something that could have been exponentially better.

GTA4. So many possibilities, but I felt that they just served an empty plate.

[QUOTE="SilverChimera"]I'd say Assassin's Creed 1, but they made sequels which realized that potential :3KC_Hokie
I thought the first one was so disappointing I never picked up the sequels.

must Play the "REPETITIVE" assasin's creed ... to play the "GREAT" Assasin's creed 2 & brotherhood. Trust me, You will love Leonardo da Vinci

I love how people don't read the OP and just say a game that was wasted potential, i never played SCC so can't comment. But since i've now got the idea to post a game i thought had wasted potential i'll say... GTA4 it was too sensible and boring, not to mention Liberty City is just a nasty setting.

Probably Alan Wake. I really enjoyed the game, the atmosphere was great and the story interesting enough to keep me curious how it would continue. But the gameplay itself was dull and boring. Shadow men, birds and flying barrels aren't the most exciting enemies.

Most wasted potential, imo, was Dragon Age 2. All they had to do is build on to and enhance the incredible game they already had. They did the opposite. When you start subtracting things to make a sequel it's time to start questioning your methods.

Alpha Protocol definitely. mrmusicman247
Oh wait. I change my answer to this. Alpha Protocol, at its core, was an amazing game for me. If they had taken the time to actually polish it up and make everything work and look the way a good game should, it could have been a real gem.

I see a lot of people going with Splinter Cell Conviction, I can understand why people were disappointed with it but after giving it a second chance, I really enjoyed the Jason Bourne direction the game went in.

Yeah I was really hyped up for it and I even bought it despite the negative reviews but I just couldn't get past the disappointments.

You can describe Fable 2 pretty well with that as well :P
