PROJECT SNOWBLIND:
KZ2 looks exactly like it. Bioshock pretty much stole the whole plasmids/upgrade deal. Halo 3 took the whole items use, even down to the cover shield!
This game was revolutionary. Anyone who has played it knows I'm right.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
ummm no, i know your jealous because you wont get a chance to play KZ2. but please stop with the damage controlling. it only makes you desperate.PROJECT SNOWBLIND:

Doom was the most ripped off game; how many FPS with guns have we seen? (yes im being sarcastic). And I don't like Killzone at all.

Wolfenstein 3D came before Doom, know your history! Also Maze War in 1973 was one of the earliest FPS titles... but it was Wolfenstein 3D that set the way for the "modern" FPS popularity we know and love.

THANK YOU Subrosian. Amazing how many people think Doom was the progenitor of FPS when in fact it was Wolfenstein 3D. That's right noobs, ALL FPS games (including Halo, Resistance, KZ, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Unreal, Quake, and yes, Doom as well) owes their existance to Wolfenstein 3D. Doom may have been the stellar hit for its time that defined the genre, but Wolfenstein gave birth to it.

I remember this one truly ignorant poster in this thread from a year ago, who actually believed it was Sony that innovated shoulder buttons and analog sticks in controllers. He completely disregarded that this all came from Nintendo 1st with the SNES and N64. He tried to play semantics arguing that having TWO analog sticks, Where N64 had just one, and that having FOUR shoulder buttons, where SNES had just two, was an "innovation".
You do realize Project Snowblind is the quasi-sequel to Deus Ex: Invisible War (I believe Snowblind used to be called Deus Ex: Clan Wars). Of course Deus Ex: Invisible War was the sequel to Deus Ex, which heavily borrowed from System Shock 2, which is obviously the sequel to System Shock. You're 4 games too late.PROJECT SNOWBLIND:

They were made by the same people so it doesn't really matter.
..besides that the most copied game would be Willy Higinbotham's first video game in 1958. The idea copied by ALL games would be the use of a tv (and later a monitor). Willy created the first game which was a table tennis game sort of like pong (pong was later made on his idea totally copying it and selling it).

No. Just. Plain. NO!!
It was still Wolfenstein 3D. Hell I can even point out similarities in the story from Half Life that was 1st seen in Doom. Scientific experiment goes awry, portal to another dimension opened, otherworldly being come out of it (demons or aliens, small difference), you must shoot the onslaught of horrors.

You can get a pretty good idea of just how young and inexperienced that kid is.
You idiots missed the entire point of the thread.
Sure Project Snowblind built upon these combat systems - but what it didn't do was blatantly rip them off.
Unlike Halo 3, Killzone 2 and Bioshock.

The most ripped off FPS is Wolfenstein 3D. Running around in a 3D FPS with a gun shooting at Nazi soldiers? How many games this year alone feature that?

That's funny. The whole A came before B, thus C is a copy of A and B is irrelevant argument. DOOM has a chainsaw so GEOW copied it ZOMG!
Because we all know that they are the same game. I am sitting here with a copy of DE:IW and DE GOTY edition, and Project Snowblind on my desk. They are NOWHERE NEAR the same game. bhe Biomods =/= the augmentations & items. Completely different uses and experience, thus a completely different aspect of the game.

No, not really. Because they are not only presented in the same fashion (P:S - Bioshock anyone...lol), but they again, are used in the absolutely same fashion. That's the difference between ripping and borrowing. Project Snowblind BUILT upon Deus Ex. Many FPS don't do a dogs lick more than Project Snowblind, but use the same "borrowed" aspect is the same fashion - thus making it a RIP.

The entire setup was different, the whole game having no cutscenes and happening in front of your chacters eyes. Plus, that AI, oh that dastardly AI.
Half Life was the bridge between older FPS like Doom and modern FPS like we have today. Its not that hard to see.
