Diversity dos not = good I'm willing to bet alot of these end up bein subpar.
But whatever at least I get to play S&P 2:D

Thankfully, time and Nintendo have conspired to finally make things right by bringing this unique postapocalyptic bullet fest to the Wii's Virtual Console service for the comparatively reasonable cost of 1,200 Wii points ($12).

Sorry to burst your bubble. Sin and Punsihment, much like the first, is a full retail game with full retail pricing and will thus be held to that standard.
I still own the original import S&P to this day, if you'd like I can take a picture of it, and it wasn't the spectacular game back then many (most of whom never played it) would have you believe.

Yes, and unlike you I've played it to death and, can prove I still own an original copy.
The game was an unchallenging breeze and despite what was back then some neat eye candy and pseudo rail mechanics, it was simply average.
It seems that many fanboys are mindlessly bashing the lineup(with no other argument then"there crap"), but take this in mind.
Think about the 360s 09 lineup. Alan wake, Halo 3: Recon, Bioshock 2? Mass Effect 2? (If I'm missing something, tell me)
Now compare that to the Wii's lineup. Yeah...
Obviously thats only so far, but so is the Wii's.

Don't know what you mean by "most," I play games on a game by game basis, I don't lump all games on a single platform or bulleted list together simply because they happen to be on a common platform.
Mushroom Men is one of my most anticipated games, day 1 purchase here. I don't think it gets the attention it deserves and I think it'll surprise a lot of people.
Galaxy has been one of the (if not the) games I've enjoyed most this generation.... And although it's technically also on the GC, I love TP to death and think the score it got here was a bit of a joke.
Many games on the list posted in this thread though, yes, seem very average to me.
I don't automatically "hate" or "love" a game because of the platform it's on.

I'm just saying I find it hard to beleive that there isn't one game on the list that interest you in a little bit.If you mean Many of the titles look meh than I agree with you. But I do see a couple of potential gems.

I didn't say that, I said "Many" of them don't look good to me.
Conduit and Mad World definitely have my interest, I will buy them, and as I said before Mushroom Men (although it isn't on that list, I guess because it's a 2K8 release) does too.
It just seems so full of filler, is all.

Are you only talking about exclusives (can't be, because some of those aren't,) if not, why are you not including stuff like Resident Evil 5?
And the games on that list, if that's what it is to look forward to on the Wii in '09, is very weak.
You know when stuff like House of the Dead and Sin and Punishment 2 (as I said, first was so average) make the top 5 or so most anticipated - that isn't a good sign.
'09 isn't looking like a smash year for any console in particular, it certainly won't compare to the end of this year (as in, the stuff coming out right now.)

I dont understand why you are so stubbornly trying to convince the OP or many Wii owners that those games arent worth looking forward too, specially when you know just as much, if not less, then they do.
Everyone has their own taste and if they find this list awesome then its their opinion, if they find that list the most appealing to their tastes, its their opinion.
I dont get your "crusade" to prove people's tastes wrong. You already expressed your lack of interest, or even disapointment in it, dont need to keep forcing your opinions on others.

Hahaha, I'm not on a "crusade," I mean... man, honestly. The guy posted a thread, I don't think it's that much of a stretch to think he wanted feedback on it - so I gave mine. No one is swayed by the opinions within this forum (at least the reasonable people aren't,) everyone seems so set in stone - they post their endless ramblings without the expectation that anyone will suddenly adopt their mindsets (why would they? That wouldn't make any sense,) it's cyclical self-gratification. I'm just throwing my 2 cents into the hat, the same thing everyone else is doing.
I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. So many absolutely ridiculous things are said on this forum, and even among those that can say those things well it still isn't any less ridiculous (blind Fallout 3 hate comes to mind... like that Vandal guy constantly saying Fallout 3 was an "iconoclasm," and that Subrosia dude saying the game was "evil" and the act of purchasing it was likewise "evil.") If someone is really looking forward to Endless Ocean 2 I'm not loony enough to think anything I say about it would, or should, convince them not to.
And I didn't express complete dislike for that list, I just said "many" seemed weak to me. Should I've lied? They seem weak to me, I'm not crazy enough to delude myself into thinking I'm so "special"and that because they seem weak to me they should seem that way to everyone else. Some here might be anticipating every one of them, some of them none.
And I don't really have a lack of interest in every game specifically, just a majority of them. As I said, I'm all for Conduit and I'm keeping an interested, skeptical eye on Madworld. Mushroom Men, even though it's not on the list, I'm really looking forward to.
It's just that so many of them seem generic to me, feels like "Been there, done that." I'm not just talking BS either. You said you loved the original S&P, that's fine, I'm not hating on this one for the F of it, I just found the original one to be average.... and I've played it to death. Don't think this one will be any different. I hope I'm wrong.
Anyway man, I'm going to get back to Fallout 3 now. The game is fantastic.

Congrads on your 1000th post.
BTW: People are entitled to opinions even opinions that S&P was average. But that said you seem way to negative on some really good games. Perhaps you should reassess your standards.
Well... yeah. I guess that one time they ruined a game.Wasn't Lair totally crippled by its bad controls? :? Didn't that result in its abysmal score?
Hexagon_777
But that's more of an exception.

bu... teh Wii Sports RESORT!!!
Honestly, i'm just happy about Sin and Punishment 2 and even Punch Out!! The next Nintendo IP I want to come out is Pikmin. If that is announced, then the Wii really does have the most diverse line-up in 2009.
Here, let me change that:
No new Zelda or Star Fox game = Fail.
Enjoy your waiting, I'll be playing Endless Ocean 2 and Deadly Creatures.

They cited the $12 price point as a bad thing, and it still got an 8.0.
They cited the $12 price point as a bad thing, and it still got an 8.0.mdisen2
So are you honestly trying to tell me that even though the game originally got a 7.1 upon release it somehow magically improved over time? Or do you think it's more reasonable that cheaper, downloadable games are held to lower standards because they are cheaper?
Don't be ridiculous, the answer is obvious. The game was reviewed when it was released, it's a ridiculous argument.
And also, they didn't say it was a "bad" thing. Quote from the review:
Thankfully, time and Nintendo have conspired to finally make things right by bringing this unique postapocalyptic bullet fest to the Wii's Virtual Console service for the comparatively reasonable cost of 1,200 Wii points ($12).
But now, at a price of just $12, Sin and Punishment is a whole lot more appealing, and a whole new audience can experience this bizarre and exciting shooter.
yet, if you wanted to play a shooter, sports, or rts game, you'd be missing out by only having a wii.
quirky doesn't equal diverse.
hey if you like those games, then thats fine. if your trying to make the argument that the wii has something for everyone then your wrong.

No, I'm not talking about exclusives. I knew I had forgotten stuff like Resident evil 5(and, come to think of it, Halo Wars), thats why I said include some I may have forgotten.
The point I'm trying to make here is that IMO, those 7 games don't appeal to me as much as the 22 or so games that appeal to me on the Wii's list. You can argue that none of the games on that list appeal to you, thats fine, but all I'm saying is that currently, the Wii's 09 lineup is better then the 360's. Obviously thats an opinion, but I would think many people would share my opinion.
I'm still amazed that people are bashing this lineup, especially when you compare it to the 360's.TAKE_IT_BACKDifferent tastes? Fallout alone for me is better than everything on that list combined, and I was very concerned about the Fallout before its release (I just had to tell myself it to enjoy it for what it was and not as a Fallout sequel :P )
yet, if you wanted to play a shooter (MP3: Corruption, Conduit), sports (Multiplat sports games are often better on Wii), or rts game (On a console o_0? And if there was one on the Wii, it would control better.), you'd be missing out by only having a wii.

I understand people have different tastes, but c'mon. The Wiis 2009 lineup is very diverse, with at least something to appeal to most everybody. Then for the 360, we have: Halo 3: Recon (shooter), Halo wars(RTS), RE5(shooter), Bioshock 2(shooter) and Mass Effect 2(WRPG). Don't get me wrong, the 360's lineup isn't actually all that bad considering its still 2008, but when you compare the two... Seriously, It seems like people are just bashing it because its the Wii or something.

Meh, most look like very average titles, the type of games you wouldn't even look at if you owned other consoles, let alone hype as the big guns of a system. When you own all 3 like myself, these games look even less appealing because I only have so much time and money to spend on titles that are actually of high quality.Saruman1719suuuuuuuuuuuure that's why games like legendary get mentioned :|

Yeah and that's as opposed to the less than million selling Little Big Planet I suppose!?
Even Resistance 2 has sold less than 3.5 million units and wasn't that supposed to be like Halo on the 360?
So you can have great looking games and go oooo wow that looks AAAAAAA because it's all HD and everything and I'll go so what it won't sell for toffee.
