The number 1 RPG game you played?

Enjoyed it more than the other final fantasies. I don't know why. Maybe because it was the first 3D FF to bring back the series to a non-future era.

My second favorite Final Fantasy, right behind VIII.

Yeah thats funny becuase ff IV is also my #1 Final Fantasy game. I just Love the characters the best the Love triangle between Kain (Dragoon) Cicel the (Pallidin) and Rosa (white mage) was just really awesome. The Twins with the Twin magic was really great, Edge was a bomb Ninja, and of course it was the start of the Bard Class with Edward the coward. And the Summoner in that game Rydia is So great it is wild.

That game did it right becuase unlike many of the other FF games every character was different and they cannot be equipped to be similar to other characters. Your summoner is the only one that can use those spells and she has 1/4 of the hit points and the tank characters! alot of character do not have mp at all and it makes the game feel really more like it might actually be.

I hate how in later final fantsy games (6+) everyone can learn almost everything by equipping materia in 7 or moving on a similar path on a node grid like in 10. That is silly.

I have played Final fantasy 11 online and I realize that alot of that game comes from what Started in Final Fantasy 4. If you have not played it you owe it to yourself to play it it really is the first "Great" final fantasy game.

To me it would be FFX and FFXII equally the best. FF12 is a better game than 10 as an "RPG" where everything is just bigger, but FFX has the overall better presentation.

I'm loving demons souls right now, but my all time favorite RPG is Xenogears.

I think for me it will be Kingdom Hearts always and forever

FFX is not only my favorite RPG, its my favorite GAME of all time. I love it. FFXIII is looking like it might come close though or maybe even top it so we'll see when that comes out.

You are so right. Skies of Arcadia is awesome. Why have newer games not copied Air Ship battles? That made the game so awesome. (Please don't say Nostalgia because that simply took turn based player combat and changed the skins to ships.) Air Ship battles in Skies was awesome because of how much strategy it took.

i'll also have to agree as FFXIII looks like it might be one great game. from the last trailer looks like its going to be one sad game and that makes me want it even mroe :P.. ah March cant come any sooner :(

ok to start first personally so far no game was better than Final Fantasy X.. i think this game was the best RPG i have ever played in my life even tho i played tons of RPG's and of course i like them all tho the only one that will always stay on top for me would be Final Fantasy X!

yeah i played a lot of RPG from PSx days up to present and i can honestly says xenogears is still the best.. best story, best soundtrack(hands down), nice graphics, awesome character. i still play it on my PSP. :P

Final Fantasy X was a brilliant role playing game, and in fact it was my first game on the Playstation 2. The story was interesting and I absolutely love the game soundtrack. Now as for my absolute favorite role playing game of all time, I will have to say Knight of the Old Republic. I simply love the non linear elements of this game, and the amount of freedom that is present is unbelievable. Not to mention the force power is pretty cool to mess around with, especially with the dark side path.
