The only concern is the price tag. This makes it Nintendo's most expensive hand held. The last time they released one that cost so much with a visual gimmick...yep...Virtual Boy.Let the "Nintendo 3DS is doomed!" articles start!!!

It's kind of baffling considering they released the Wii and DS at a price that set it apart from their competitors. Now they are making Sony mistakes with the price.
If PSP2 can squeak by at 199 it could have a big chance to dominate the next hand held generation.
Price is fine with me. Im just not that impressed with the early launch titles. Probably will wait until Black Friday to pick up a 3DS. May be some sweet game bundles then.
These skeptics will get bitten when they see long lines of people in beginning in late February buying a 3DS. It's like Nintendogs and Pokemon. Criticize them all you want but they will always sell to kids and kids love Nintendo hand helds.[QUOTE="Zune_HD"]

Because it was a nintendo system, if the VB didn't... I dunno.. give people eye cancer?? and had a practical/comfortable way of playing the darn thing it would have been a success...

More VB comparisons...just for lulz. The disclaimer on the 3DS about young children's eyes and not being able to play it comfortable in 3D. I'd actually be surprised if price ends up being a big issue. One of the interesting things about the PSP is that it sold best at the $249 price point. That is to say, Sony sold over 15 million PSPs within the first 12 months of release (link); if they had managed to keep that pace, the PSP would be nearing 100 million units by now.I personally would love it if the 3DS was cheaper, but I think Nintendo's probably done their homework. They chose the price that would probably give them the best profit margin/sales ratio, even if it meant having their reputation take a slight hit.

So wait, you, your body... is your opinion? There's so many ways this can go wrong.YOU are the controller.

That's nice, but I'm still disappointed that they couldn't have made a new Devil Survivor game, as opposed to just porting the old one :(Probably posted already, but Atlus USA confirmed Devil Survivor Overclocked for a Summer release. Amazon has it for July 31 (likely a placeholder date) at $39.99.

Comes with extras, but yeah, woulda been nice to get a fully original game.
It would also have signaled the start of a new sub franchise. Damn Atlus, why couldn't you just have developed a sequel, huh?[QUOTE="Slashkice"][QUOTE="charizard1605"]That's nice, but I'm still disappointed that they couldn't have made a new Devil Survivor game, as opposed to just porting the old one :(charizard1605

[QUOTE="crippled_ram"]Lol, what do you guys think now? :PLegatoSkyheart
That I wish I had a 3DS now.
So do I, but the NGP kinda makes it more interesting than before, don't ya think?Nintendo has clarified battery life:
"We announced the other day that the battery duration for playing Nintendo 3DS games on it is about three to five hours. When I measured it by playing several Nintendo games, with the backlight set to the brightest level and the power save mode turned off, battery duration was about three hours. But if you use the power save mode under the same conditions, it gets about 10-20% longer. And if you set the backlight to the darkest setting, the battery lasts five hours, but the power save mode makes less of a difference then."
"Right. What's more, with the backlight set as high as it will go, battery life changes about 25% according to whether you're playing in 2D or 3D."
"In StreetPass mode, the system isn't always communicating, so there isn't much of a drain on the battery, but games that communicate a lot through local play and online play—with the backlight set to high—have an over 10% effect on the battery."
So playing 3D games = 3 hours max brightness - 5 hours lowest brightness. Less if WiFi is constantly communicating.
DS games = 5 hours max brightness - 8 hours lowest brightness. Less if WiFi is constantly communicating.
So the final battery life IS 3-5 hours then? No room for doubt?Nintendo has clarified battery life:

It's from an Iwata Asks interview. That seems to be the implication. Dang, that's low. I mean, yeah we knew about it, but still... "DS more resistant to piracy, claims Nintendo UK manager" (Joystiq).
On another note, I'm still more excited about the 3DS. NGP just seems a bit too like a portable PS3 for me. A portable PS2 ala the psp was pretty cool since I really liked the screen, but since I have a great HDTV now, I think I'd rather play games on that than the NGP. Still, the screen looks to be pretty good, but I like my big screen tv more.
Also, I don't know if anyone posted this two days ago, but here's a video of Rodea the Sky Soldier, the Wii/3DS game that was announced a few days ago. Looks pretty cool actually.
The only reasons I have a few reservations about the NGP is because so far there have been no games announced"DS more resistant to piracy, claims Nintendo UK manager" (Joystiq).

I don't know. I think (hope?) that we all get the same six to begin with, but then cheaply priced ones (2.99?) are available at the store. Will the 6 AR cards be random, or will we all get the same 6?
