It's kind of baffling considering they released the Wii and DS at a price that set it apart from their competitors. Now they are making Sony mistakes with the price.

If PSP2 can squeak by at 199 it could have a big chance to dominate the next hand held generation.

Price is fine with me. Im just not that impressed with the early launch titles. Probably will wait until Black Friday to pick up a 3DS. May be some sweet game bundles then.

Because it was a nintendo system, if the VB didn't... I dunno.. give people eye cancer?? and had a practical/comfortable way of playing the darn thing it would have been a success...

Because it was a nintendo system, if the VB didn't... I dunno.. give people eye cancer?? and had a practical/comfortable way of playing the darn thing it would have been a success...

I personally would love it if the 3DS was cheaper, but I think Nintendo's probably done their homework. They chose the price that would probably give them the best profit margin/sales ratio, even if it meant having their reputation take a slight hit.

Totally traded in my DSi and got $75 for it towards a 3DS

no point in keeping the DSi anymore since the 3DS is BC

Probably posted already, but Atlus USA confirmed Devil Survivor Overclocked for a Summer release. Amazon has it for July 31 (likely a placeholder date) at $39.99.

Nintendo has clarified battery life:

"We announced the other day that the battery duration for playing Nintendo 3DS games on it is about three to five hours. When I measured it by playing several Nintendo games, with the backlight set to the brightest level and the power save mode turned off, battery duration was about three hours. But if you use the power save mode under the same conditions, it gets about 10-20% longer. And if you set the backlight to the darkest setting, the battery lasts five hours, but the power save mode makes less of a difference then."

"Right. What's more, with the backlight set as high as it will go, battery life changes about 25% according to whether you're playing in 2D or 3D."

"In StreetPass mode, the system isn't always communicating, so there isn't much of a drain on the battery, but games that communicate a lot through local play and online play—with the backlight set to high—have an over 10% effect on the battery."

So playing 3D games = 3 hours max brightness - 5 hours lowest brightness. Less if WiFi is constantly communicating.

On another note, I'm still more excited about the 3DS. NGP just seems a bit too like a portable PS3 for me. A portable PS2 ala the psp was pretty cool since I really liked the screen, but since I have a great HDTV now, I think I'd rather play games on that than the NGP. Still, the screen looks to be pretty good, but I like my big screen tv more.

Also, I don't know if anyone posted this two days ago, but here's a video of Rodea the Sky Soldier, the Wii/3DS game that was announced a few days ago. Looks pretty cool actually.

What a weak launch line-up especially compared to the games announced at last E3.

I will buy one when Paper Mario, Zelda, Resident Evil Revelations and Phoenix Wright are available.
