I've played around with the 3DS and SSF4 for the last two hours and I have to say i'm feeling good about it! The 3D is pretty awesome. It doesn't bother my eyes at all(thankfully). Left to right motions can cause some flicker and blur, but i found it didn't throw me off in SSF4 nor be remotely as bothersome as glasses 3D can be if its a little off. I find tilting the 3DS up and down doesn't affect the image nearly as much though. The slider was a great idea on nintendos part. Extremely easy to readjust if something doesn't feel right or even flat out turn it off.
Loving the home menu. It's stuff we've seen in other devices, but it's nice to see it in ninty's handheld. I like that it has no lag, unlike some of the consoles. Unlike an iphone, it wont run all programs in the background. You can check friends list without having to close the software you have open, but if you want to jump from SSF4 to the mii plaza(for whatever crazy reason), the system will close the former - though it will ask so don't worry about any accidents.
I'm disapointed in the camera. It's really low quality. Fortunately face raiders and ar games are both fun little gimmicks/tech demos. It's cool to be able to take 3D photos, just unfortunate that its so low quality.
After listening to some podcats i was afraid the system might be uncomfortable. The dpad is situated low while the shoulder buttons are on the top of the 3ds. But it's not uncomfortable(for me) in the least.
The cradle rocks. So simple, yet so smart.
SSF4 is amazing. 3D fight mode works alot better then i thought it would. Even in the regular "2d mode" the visuals have a bit of a pop which is nice. The touch controls for throws, focus, all punches and all kicks work great! I was worried that supers and ultras would be stupid tough, but it's very natural to move your thumb from the face buttons to the right of the touch pad for the 3kicks/3punches. I don't have a problem hitting both light or medium attacks, so throws and focus are no problem. I agree that the shoulder buttons are a little weird, but I'm going to remain optimistic and expect it to be a non issue soon. Won my first online, 3d, pro mode battle :)
Going out again, as more stores open, to find a proper case. I'll likely pick up 2 more games. Ghost Recon is a given, but not quite sure on the second. I hope other people are having a positive experince too!
