False! Both 360 and PC version of the game had been developed at the same time. The PS3 was also on the same page, then Valve abandoned its development and was passed to EA.
JCblueside
Well that is only parshly true. The major mechanics for both Portal and TF2 were developed for the PC from the start and both had portions ported. Because the 360 is much easier to develop for PC devs, it naturally turned out a lot better.
Assassins Creed? no way.
Bread_or_Decide
a mocking shadow of the Xbox 360 version"
And way to not list all the other big games that multiplatted just fine on the PS3.
Bread_or_Decide
because there's comparitavely few of them and the ps3 costs more than the 360
Goes to show that the Power of the Ps3 is just a BS myth created by Sony and its fan boys.NugtokaPower has nothing to do with it. Its the inability of the programmers working on the port to make the code work properly on the SPUs. For sonys fault, the extreme different between multi-core CPU ans SPU cell based architecture of the hardware is to blame.
People are really having trouble porting to the PS3 it appears. If they spent more time these issues wouldn't be there.
Puckhog04
LOL wtf??? It already came out more then a month after the 360 version. SO basically you're saying that they should release all multiplats on ps3 2 months after just so they can achieve 360 levels of performance LOLLLL.... ps3 owners are tools.
[QUOTE="Puckhog04"]Why should they spend more money and man hours on the console that sells the least?People are really having trouble porting to the PS3 it appears. If they spent more time these issues wouldn't be there.

Because they want to. What kind of question is that? Do you have some issue with the PS3?
[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]Thats a long list of exceptions to the rule. And all of them scored really well and are big games. Seems to me those were the ports that should've been done right, and they were. The biggest multiplats of the fall. One dud, orange box, doesn't negate them all.
One dud? LMFAO. You love your PS3, don't you? I guess it is hard not to "love" it after throwing $600 away.
I would say the PS3 has plenty of great games on it right now, so its not necessary to purchase it on that basis.
Only a big time PS3 fanboy would say that...
But if you love Mario games, and you know you can only get them on Nintendo, then its pretty obvious that you should buy the console thats home to mario. I love Metal Gear Solid, thats why I bought a PSP and purchased the games. Thats why I got a PS3.
You purchased a machine for a game that is not out yet...hmm, smart. Just hope it's good (based on Sony's floppy record, hope is all you have left).
You bought a console based on SPECS and not games? And you have nerve to jump on cows lol.
I already told you, I purchased the 360 based on the fact that it was released first and that it offered a great online. Do you want me to tell you the same thing one more time?
Yeah, I considered the fact that I did not need or want a Blu-ray player. Sorry, some people just don't give a damn about HiDef movies....online play is more important to me.
Gamers jumped ship from Nintendo when devs left for Sony.Gamers go where the games go.
Games are goint to the 360 or the Wii right now. C'e la vie.
Thats nothing new. Diehard fans are a minority, as seen via gamecube sales. If all those devs left sony, (highly unlikely) yeah I'd go wherever they went. Again, I follow the games, NOT the company.
I follow the consoles, not the games. Games can flop.
It takes a great effort for a console to flop. I still can't believe the Dreamcast flopped...and I am still amazed that the PS3 is failing so hard.
But you just want to fight with me. So go ahead and throw some more pointless arguments my way.
You are doing just fine with pointless arguments...
...I'll leave the pointless arguments to you. Sounds good to you?
Pimpshigity21
I hope to see more of you once the PS3 starts beating the 360. But now have fun with a defective console that you waste money on once you pay for on-line and have your console break on you. Yeah that is what I want a useless console that scratches my moive disk. That promotes nothing new from its controller.

What is wrong with you? Man I'm lucky I can play all three and enjoy them each for their strengths intstead of running around online talking the way you do. I see very clearly whats good and bad about all three consoles. I can find something great to play for each one. I don't need to resort to crazed fanboy rants against faceless corporations.

You made the mistake and wrote console, when clearly you ment to write movie player! :D

I think it has more to do with only EA having trouble, not everyone else. It seems only their games are having such huge problems when porting to PS3. Why can COD4 basically look identical? What about Assasin's Creed?
EA is either doing one of two things......giving less dev time to port PS3 games (compared to other 3rd party) or they are a bunch of idoits. Which one is it? Tough call on that one.
Either way, PS3 owners should not buy their product. It may result in X360 exclusives because of lack of sales with EA PS3 product BUT at this point who cares? PS3 owners get second rate ports 3+ months after the X360 version lol. You pay top dollar for that? I buy rental games for a lot of Blockbuster stores and I've specifically cut back copy depth wise on PS3EA games (Madden included) because of how bad the games have been (and late). I suggest if things don't change next year, DON'T BUY EA'S GAMES.
I actually do have a PC that can easily handle Source/Orange Box. Not sure now whether to get it or not. Hmmm ....:? Sounds horrible. 8.4 seems a bit generous, especially with the TF2 problems, must be almost impossible to rocket jump.
Thankfully all Cows have gaming PC's. EA might as well of saved money and time and not bothered, they'll all get it for PC now.
SgtWhiskeyjack
Oh and you should know that Source/Orange Box runs really well on older and midrangemachines. Really well.

not as much anymore, except for this game... come 2008 all that crap will be over with. Major games will look the same that are multiplats in general.

How do we know this? any scores for UT3 on PS3 yet?

It's all relative, but the PS3 version is scoring higher than the PC version.
[QUOTE="Medic_B"]another win for 360black_awpN1
WTF, how is it a win for 360? and since when is 8.4 a terrible score?
It's a tiny (almost insignificant) victory. The 360 and PC versions of the game do not suffer from the majority of the issues that plague the PS3 version and as a result scored a great deal higher.
Well, looks like im getting the 360 version then. To be honest, considering the previews we've seen of burnout and UT3 (both performing extremely well), as well as seeing what can be done with Assassins Creed and Call of Duty 4, there is absolutely NO excuse for this. Im not blaming EA devs for this, with them being basically forced to do this and having probably a pretty small team, im blaming valve.
If they wanted a good product bearing the HL name, they should have sucked it up and done it themselves.
nicenator
I agree. I don't blame EA because they didn't develop the game they only tried to port. If anything I applaud them for putting forth the effort to put this on PS3.

maybe ea didn't like the idea of not getting much from pc sales since most pc gamers get it through steam which ea makes nil from
