I am sooo tired of people saying that the Orange Box is a GREAT DEAL. "Oh wow!! 5 GAMES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!!!" You can't beat that!!" It isnt 5 FULL games. The only entire game on there is Half Life 2.....Ok.....

Half Life 2: The entire game is on here with "updated" graphics.....but still looks a little dated FULL GAME

Half Life 2 Episode 1: EXPANSION of Half Life 2

Half Life 2 Episiode 2:EXPANSION of Half Life Episode 1

Portal: Have nothing negative to say about this one. Awesome Addicting game......BUT.....it is very short. Can easily be beaten in a day or two.

Team Fortress 2: Some people might enjoy this but it got old to me VERY VERY fast. And it's also a pretty shallow multiplayer. You only get a couple game modes.

It isnt 5 full length games. I'm not a huge Half Life fan....so I gave this a rental and Portal is my absolute favorite in this package. Portal is awesome but, being that the game is too short and Slob Newell being an annoying fat, disgusting pig.....$60 just doesnt cut it.

If you think this is a rip-off, then you might as well kiss 80% of the titles this gen goodbye.

So you dislike a game simply because one of the developers doesn't look how you think he should look. Don't call yourself a gamer ever again.

While I agree that the episodes, portal, and team fortress 2 wouldn't be worth purchasing by themselves, 1 full game, and 4 excellent (but very short) games for the price of 1 game is a great deal, and there is more content in the Orange Box than the vast majority of games

All i can do right now is laugh at you. I literally laughed aloud when i read this. If this isn't a good deal then what the hell do you call Heavenly Sword and/or gears? Try not to think, it doesn't work for some people.

Yet those expansions have more value than Heavenly Sword or Uncharted :S And TF2 not holding your atention is just a failure on your part. They have ritalin for that.

Saying this might get me suspended but I don't care: Your opinion is poopy! POOPY I said!

its more then worth the money

Half-Life 2: 10-12 hours and one of the best fps games ever, hands down

Episode 1: 5-6 hours. pretty good, slow at parts, but good

Episode 2: 6-8 hours. excellent, amazing battles. amazing story. again, has its slow moments, but when it picks up...:D

Portal: 3 hours. amazing all around. just great

Team Fortress 2: Until you get bored. yea you can lose interest kind of quick since everybody plays the same 2 maps, not that there were many to begin with. but the mods make it nice. played a modmap one night where it took 2 1/2 hours for one team to score. wasnt a giant map, but a good stalemate map. you had to work for it. some of the stock maps are too easy.

Orange Box is amazing. and the funny thing is, even though HL2 is 3 years old, almost 4, its still better, especially in story, and better looking then many of todays games. it far surpasses halo 3 in every way.

Half-Life 2 - $29.95

Episode 1 - $19.95

Episode 2 - $29.95

Portal - $19.95

Team Fortress 2 - $29.95

You get all that for $49.95 (the price of the orange box) not $60

And calling Gabe a fat pig... you are disturbed, buddy.

That would suck, considering it's at the top of my Xmas list. I've never played HL2, so I'm assuming this package is going to be amazing for me.

Outside Halo 3 (I love Halo MP), The Orange Box has easily been the best value in gaming I have had at very least all year.

Well there's much more content in it than anything else so it is a great deal. Not really for PC gamers though since everyone has HL2 and most had ep1. Should've just waited till ep3 was done for a PC compilation of all of them.

What about all these Ps3 titles that are taking up 20 something Gigs of Blue Ray and are 8 hours long with no multiplayer, those are rip-offs! EWith orange box your getting argueably the best single player FPS ever that is 25 to 30 hrs long, with Poral and TF 2.

A full game on 360: 60 dollars ( half life 2)

2 expansion packs: 40 dollars ( Ep1 and 2)

a budget title: (Team Fortress) 20 dollars.

an XBL arcade game : Portal 10 dollars.

130 dollar value.

And before you say " BUT TAH PORTAL NO XBLA SOYOU IS FAIL @ L1F3 AND IS SUCK!!!!!!!!" I'm just using these as comparisons. A game with only multiplayer, that seems like a budget title, so 20 dollars. Portal is one of those crazy puzzle games you'd find on XBLA.

It may be a good deal but i cant help but feel that the games are overrated. Playing Half-life 2 through feels like a chore and it seems so boring and lifeless to me. TF2 is ok but just so limited in gametypes that i haven't got much playtime out of it and i suppose i should give portal another go but i just dont feel like it. It may have something to do with mass effect coming out and that being the best game i have played in a long time but i just haven't got my money's worth out of OB. I blame all of you on here for hyping it up because when i played it i couldn't help but be disappointed damn you all.

The funny thing is i have actually got more playtime out of Halo 3 because itsgood fun when you have a few mates round. I'm not saying HL2 is a crap game it just didn't hold my interest and surely thats exactly what a game is supposed to do.

I finished the first Halo in 7-8hours, HS is about 6hours, Gears was what? About 8hours. Now with OB I got HL2 + EP1 and 2 which together last 20+ hours. Plus you get TF2 which should be at least comparable to online portions in most FPS games. Then you get the brilliant Portal that gives you about 3-4hours. And on PC I think I got HL2 DM and Peggle something on top of all that. And when you consider that half of those games have extra content in the form of mods, maps and extra levels, I don't really see how it's not a good deal.

if the games sold at retail price individually it would be at least $100+, so it's a damn good deal. stop complaining and don't buy the game if it isn't such a great deal, or you don't want the products.

It is a great deal... Just because they aren't actual full games, you could get more out of the two expansions then you could out of most full games getting released lately... Not to mention that the full game Half-Life 2 is probably one of the best FPS ever and is pretty damn long. The two expansions add on plenty more content, and especially for someone who hasn't played HL it is an incredible deal. If you think this is a bad deal, then what do you think is a good deal? I don't think there is a deal that could beat this one..

Oh also this isn't 60 dollars, only on consoles. You can get it easily for 40 dollars for PC. Even better of a deal.

This is an odd thread. Half Life 2 rocks blocks, man.

Hell, you could take an ACTUAL Box of orange cardboard and it would be a better deal than most games nowadays. :D

I felt ripped off they didn't release the black box. I already have HL2 GOTY and EP1 so I'd loved to add the black box to that huge tin can HL2 goty came in. But no. They wanted to make me buy all that twice. Screw you people. Played it anyway but didn't buy it.

I made a blog post awhile back complaining about Black Box getting canned. THAT would have been a great deal.

I ended up getting Orange Box on black friday for $25 at Best Buy. I've been happy with it so far.

TF2 needs more maps though.

I made a blog post awhile back complaining about Black Box getting canned. THAT would have been a great deal.

I ended up getting Orange Box on black friday for $25 at Best Buy. I've been happy with it so far.

TF2 needs more maps though.

PC version has over 50 custom maps released. Sucks to own OB on 360...

GageCreed needs a lesson in what isn't a great deal. Here's the lesson.

A 2.0 rated game that is like 1 1/2 to 2 times the price of the real game. Now that is a bad deal.
