Have consoles and currently play games on them. Same for PC?Heil68Like I said before. I don't know.:? Why does it matter?
Even if we're not counting expansion packs, there are still a number of games that you missed.
How about you make a list of games you're not counting, so that we can debunk most of them?
[QUOTE="Heil68"] Have consoles and currently play games on them. Same for PC?smokeydabear076Like I said before. I don't know.:? Why does it matter? The plural "we" bothers me..I think everyone who has a computer is a PC gamer of some sorts. What excludes users from being considered a PC gamer?

I think that if you don't regularly play full-priced $50-60 PC games, you're not a "PC gamer" as far as System Wars is concerned.
that is why i do not like the PC. their exclusives are crappy. i would rather get gears of war a year earlier, madden 08 the good version, NBA 2k8, Halo 3, Forza 2, Mass Effect and for my PS3 Uncharted, R&C, and for my Wii SMG, ZTP and MP3. it really isnt close if you have a PS360Wii compared to the PC.
PC blows.
A. Who has a PS360Wii laying around to beat a PC, B. Nice job pitting one against three, 3. Last but certainly not least, I may be remembering wrong but I thought we were on Gamespot, and if we are were using gamespots reviews. And if thats true, didn't R and C flop severly....hmm I may be wrong. Are all genres on the consoles?smokeydabear076You won't see any true simulators on the consoles. Like a flight sim, naval sim, tank sim etc.

Well, Over-G Fighters is pretty damn close to being a true flight sim.
Dull? Most of these games are more innovative, unique, and inteligent than any PS3 game that is out, or will ever come out.NOT INCLUDING EXPANSION PACKS, OR DOWNLOADABLE ONLY GAMES
According to this:

The games are:
-GTR 2 (AAA)
-Race (AA)
-Race 07 (AA)

Honestly, Do any of the above games interest anyone? They all look pretty dull to me.
007_jamesbond
I'll only include the stand-alone games on that list from November 06 to keep people happy:
AAA Exclusives - 0
AA Exclusives - 20
RACE - The WTCC game
Medieval 2: Total War
Supreme Commander
Europa Universalis 3
Neverwinter Nights 2
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
The Witcher
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened
Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific
The Ship
Dominions 3: The Awakening
Guild Wars Nightfall
RACE 07 - The WTCC Game
TrackMania United
Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
Sam and Max: Episode 6: Bright Side of the Moon
Baseball Mogul 2008
Sam and Max: Episode 5: Reality 2.0
Total - 20
If he'd made the list from October 06, it would be an even larger number...and since expansion packs do count, the number is probably closer to 30 or 40 - 3 or 4 times the initial estimate in this thread.
*Edit* Oh yeah, and /thread

No, I don't think so. Not in a million years. You're not flying the plane in such games, you're just telling it where to go. That's what makes a sim a sim: you actually have to FLY the plane. Engine settings, fuel settings, convergence settings, flaps, magnetos, superchargers, oil pressure, coolant pressure, cowl settings, and so on and so forth, are all required to even be considered 'close' to a sim.[QUOTE="mjarantilla"]You won't see any true simulators on the consoles. The planes react realistically, they are affected by drag, fuel loadout, weapon loadout, weight, etc.
EDIT: Which is why I said "close to being a flight sim" and not "actually is a flight sim." Being "actually a flight sim" requires all those details. In Over-G (which I haven't played, but a friend of mine in the USAF loves it), it incorporates as much control over those small details as the limited gamepad can provide.
Yeah, well see that's the thing about consoles vs, PC : those of us who prefer realism in execution over the simplified and 'adjusted for difficulty' really have no choice but to game on PC. And by 'adjusted for difficulty' I mean this: I can spend an hour (real time) flying to a target, just to have my screen go black when a stray AA round from the ground enters my cockpit. I never saw it, I never heard it, there was no chance to avoid it. It just happened and that was the end of the game. That would never happen in a console game. They would never get away with 'wasting' and hour of the players time to fall to a 'cheap shot'. That the difference in perspective we have: To most console players, such a scenario would be a 'cheap shot'. To many of us on the PC side, it's simply 'realism' and not just accepted, but appreciated.Well, it's about as close as consoles will probably get. Hey, I'm primarily a PC gamer, so I understand where you're coming from. Although I prefer strategy games, and there's no real strategy on consoles.
BTW, your "adjusted for difficulty" example: Is that actually possible on any PC flight sim?
I often fly the single-player dynamic-campaign for IL2 Sturmovik: 1946. I've had my pilot killed out of the blue more times than I care to count. And by out-of-the-blue I really mean I'm flying along nice and quite, I hear a 'thunk' and my screen goes black. It could be a stray small-arms round from the ground, AA fire, flak, or a round for another plane. I have to save the track and play it back in view mode to see what happened, because I can't shift the view to outside the cockpit while I'm actually in-game. External views are during play back only. More often than not that doesn't happen, but it can and does. Even excepting that, IL2 on full realism and at reasonable difficulty has a realistic survival-rating per mission. So, early in the war if you're flying as a Soviet Fighter in a group of three against the modernized Luftwaffe with more planes than you, then no matter how skilled you are your chances of returning home are iffy. But it certainly is a thrill when you can nurse a crippled plane full of holes with half the controls not responding back in for a near-perfect landing.BTW, your "adjusted for difficulty" example: Is that actually possible on any PC flight sim?

[QUOTE="NerdMan"][QUOTE="MikeE21286"]counting expansions is pathetic.....MikeE21286
No, what's pathetic is how many expansion packs contain more content than most console games.
no, its pathetic. its not a new gameNo, what's pathetic is how little new content a lot of cosnole sequels have. If you don't want to count expansion pack then you also can't count stuff like God of War 2.

From november 06?
You forgot about LOTR Online, Trackmania Sunrise, Dominions 3: The Awakening, Medieval II: Total War, Neverwinter Nights 2. Second of all awful lot of expansion packs are semi-sequels. THey offer tons of new contant and are stand-alone (not requiring original game) and are much more of "sequels" than stuff like GRAW2, God f War 2 or every yearly sports game is.
Like I said before. I don't know.:? Why does it matter? The plural "we" bothers me..I think everyone who has a computer is a PC gamer of some sorts. that would be preety dumb considering that it's extremely rare for PC game to cost over 50$, while a lot of neww releases start from 40$ or lower.
