I made a mistake. Last year the max amount the PS3 could have shipped is 13.9 million.

I already said as much. They combined PS2 shipments for around 1 fiscal year (FY12). However, we don't know the actual PS2 figures... It's gonna be from 78-80 million, due to the PS2 barely shipping anything beforehand.

1-They sold half while releasing a $600 console.

2-The xbox 360 selling triple of what the xbox sold doesn't mean anything the xbox sold like sh**,it was stomped by 125 million units.

3-Compare to the PS2 even the wii sold like sh**,the wii is close to 100 million and it has 7 years,the PS2 reach that on 5.

4-Sony's worst ever performance = MS best one,even that they had a 1 year head start and a price advantage from $100 to $300..:lol:

Yeah the PS3 was at 63.9 million at FY11. FY12 it combines PS2 and PS3 to make 16.5 million shipped to add to that. PS2 shipped 4.1 million during FY11. The PS3 shipped less that 13.9 million FY12, that much is confirmed.

The report states revenues were down 12.2 percent due to falling PS3, PSP and PS Vita sales. No mention of PS2 in there, so it may have met FY11s figures, meaning around 4 million again (Sony only stopped shipping PS2s a few months ago in Jan).

Is not on the making any more since last year,and gamestop will not even take them in trade in.Like i already told you those shipments for this year show little PS2 on them,the console die at the start of this year.

It really isn't "nothing". It's actually a pretty good feat... Especially given that they built Live into a brilliant online experience. Do you remember PSN, pre-2009ish? It wasa disaster.

Worst effort? Don't try to downplay it. Sony simply made some bad calls. It's entirely innocent, but the market simply didn't stick, until they turned themselves around. Kaz had a huge hand in this.

Winning a generation is cool and all, however MS has set some standards. Plus, they profited quite handily.

Let's not forget cow, Sony has brand recognition, massive fanbase with everyone waiting for the next PS. Sony lost almost all of that plus the money they made off the PS1 and PS2. In no way shape or form can you brag about Sony being anything other than a failure this past gen.

MS on the other hand had considerably less console brand recognition, smaller fanbase and had the RROD fiasco to deal with. They still managed to tripple their install base while shrinking Sony's. MS did what they set out to do while Sony didn't.

Why don't you explain why Sony needed to combine PS2 with PS3 sales? Why couldn't they come out with the PS3 sales figures if they weren't so ashamed? They didn't combine PS2 with PS1 numbers during the 6th gen.

Rumours are that MS will release a new $99 360 slim this holiday, so I'd say its still getting supported fine (in the real world, maybe not by SW standards)

I care little about sales numbers. I think it's way to earlier to declare second place for the PS3 until we can fugure out it's actual LTD.
