Those numbers are rough estimates, but they do adjust their numbers when the NPD results come out. But, I don't know what they do with the European figures.

I'd say more like scraps....As time goes on more and more 360's sell....the regular gamer doesn't buy more then one console..especially if they are 400-600 dollar pricepoints per.

I think that just proves that it isn't entirely dead (yeah.. right..).. I find it funny that they released that game on the xbox but not the Wii though..

Whilst on the topic of the xbox.. its second highest selling game, Halo 2, is still in the top 70.. (.. ok it only sells 6k a week.. but hey.. thats only have what resistance sells)

Oh yes, and the GBA once again beat the PS3 in June.

I was one of those purchases :).

And I'm willing to bet this trend will continue, especially now that more great PS3 games are coming out within the year. And with all the online games coming out this year, PS3 needs a bigger userbase just to support all these games... not to mention kick up the software sales in general. I hope to see UT3 become a huge hit on PS3, hoping for a 1m + at least sold for UT on PS3. More players = more support, more mods, more fun :).

Judging by European sales, I think Sony can win back Sonyland if they give a significant price drop.

There will be an event next month in Europe; they'll most likely annouce a price drop there.

It's close but it's never been 100%. It's accurate enough to say that the PS3 has outsold the 360 for the past two weeks though. I'd be surprised to see that trend continue throughout August though... and by the off chance it does, Sept will undoubtedly belong to Microsoft. I do think that Sony will end up owning the holiday season though (assuming they have room for another strategic price announcement their holiday dominance would be a sure thing).

Whle you cows are so busy dancing in the streets, you don't suppose the fact they have to give away 5 free movies isn't helping the sales a bit too. Talk about tying a pork chop around the ugly kids neck...DXGreat1_HGL

To a lot of gamers, and media, the PS3 has a better winter line up than the 360. There's also the fact that Microsoft's gaming division can't really afford too strategic of a price drop now. And the rumor that there may be a further price drop for the PS3 around the holiday. I don't think the recent splurge will continue from now throughout the holiday... but this could certainly be the 360's final few months before falling in 3rd place in monthly sales.

As for your signature. MGS4, GOWIII, & FFXIII will all be greater than Halo. GT5 will sale more. Haze & UT3 both look like contenders to being better FPS titles. And after playing both betas, Warhawk was more addictive anyway :-P The point is that PS3'ers really aren't missing out on anything.

, align the launches and then see how well your ps3 is doing. With the price cut it's just catches up to the 360's pace, and we all know this price cuts not going to last that long.
