[QUOTE="DXGreat1_HGL"][QUOTE="ZIMdoom"]Any and all companies that release sales numbers are just "guessing." Everyone here wants to put down vgcharts and act like NPD is the be-all-end-all. Yet NPD doesn't include some major retailers like Walmart...so they make "projections", or as you call them, guesses. So what does it say when people want to favour one guess over the next. Here is what we do know. We know how man console a company SHIPS at any given point. We know that MS has only shipped 11.5 million (roughly) and that it took them months to get from 10 million to this point. We know this because we know they recently released their numbers showing a massive decrease in sales over this point last year...something like 700,000 world wide in a quarter, or roughly 230,000 world wide sales a month.
So while people want to chalk this up simply to a PS3 price drop, they are ignoring the most relevant facts. Customers are holding out and are reluctant to jump on the 360 bandwagon just yet. Customers are more willing to pay more money for a PS3 than the cheaper 360 with a better library. I think these things add up to show that many people still have faith in the PS brand.

I like how you can draw all that speculation from 1 guessing websites projections. Cows should just give up.
I like how you fail to even address a single point I make oroffer a logical rebuttal.
Also, I never claim that I draw all that from 1 website. It is a known fact that NPD numbers don't include places like Walmart...a major retailer. So either NPD numbers are way off actual sales numbers, or they make projections to conpensate. It is a known fact, according to MS's own most recent financial statements, that the 360 only sold 700,000 360's world wide in it's final quarter. Doing the math (divide by 3) proves that MS only sold 230,000 360's a month world wide.
Recent sales numbers show that the price drop has helped spike PS3sales.I make no speculation whether or not the spike will stay or if it will drop off again. However, by outselling the 360 it shows that there are a group of people who are willing to wait for the PS3 instead ofget a 360 even though the PS3 has a worse game library at this time AND costs $100 more.
Finally, it is also a known fact that while the 360 is almost in the black (before the warranty issue) and has the best library so far...it's overall sales are only as much as the original Xbox was during respective time periods. If people are not rushing out and buying the 360 any more than they bought the Xbox, despite it's great game library...then what are they waiting for? There could be many answers to this, but these are facts as we know them right now. I make no speculation as to what will happen next month or next year.
So I hope you will excuse me if I roll my eyes at the ignorant reply you decided to post. But if anything I said is not backed by fact then I would be interested to hear your correction. However, I won't hold my breath.
blah, blah, blah. You can incoherently rant as much as you want, it doesn't change the fact that you are only spinning 2 weeks of positive sales guestimations and then creating a slippery slope for 360....
