XBox 360 sales top 30 million with 20 million LIVE subscribers
Microsoft just announced sales of Xbox 360 consoles have passed the 30 million mark globally, up 28 percent over last year, which it claims is the highest percentage growth in hardware sales of any console so far in 2009. In addition, the Xbox LIVE community has grown to over 20 million users, coming from 26 countries.
And these users spend money, too. In a press release touting the sales numbers, Microsoft claims U.S. consumers alone have spent $14.5 billion across all categories on Xbox 360 at retail, and consumers worldwide have downloaded close to 1 billion pieces of gaming and entertainment content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace to date.

You may ask what the hell does the xbox 360 arriving at 30 millions have anything to do with how MS is acting now,so gamer friendly and the answer is quite simple.
This ^^ arrival at 30 millions of the xbox 360 happen exactly 3 years and 6 months after the xbox 360 launched, the 360 was 3 and a half years old when that happen.
By this time frame the xbox one was greatly behind the 360,so much that at year 4 EA estimate 30 million units sold, the xbox one is tracking below the xbox 360 sales by several million units.
In fact this year mark the xbox one 5th year on the market, and i don't see them hitting 40 millions let alone 45 millions like the xbox 360 did had when it turned 5.
Xbox 360 turns five, sales hit 45 million

So why is MS so friendly now with gamers, talking about mods, cross play,BC and all those things they simply didn't care about at the start of this generation? Because they are behind greatly the xbox one is not even beating the 360 in time frame, hell i think the PS3 in time frame was also ahead of the xbox one by a considerable margin.
