Nope, he was talking about the race which means total sales.

@recloud said:

@Pedro: and all of that because they're on third place on the console race.

But that is not what he mean and he has say it in other threads, sales wise the xbox one is ending 3rd monthly and you are reaching.

@phbz said:

don't know really... When I read some sh!t here I honestly question my self if some users don't suffer from mental issues. Not trying to be mean, I just don't know how to react sometimes.

But anyways, MS did some mistakes and it's trying to recover from it. Imo Phill took responsibility for the past because that's the professional thing to do, but even if he's really the king of all evil, who cares? Sooner or later we'll know.

Sony did mistakes with the PS3. Overpriced and disrespectful to their clients, it messed up big time with their online service, showed CGI at E3 while claiming it was realtime graphics, initially lacking games due to overconfidence, and so on. And so fvcking what? It's in the past.

As a consumer I want MS to try even harder to be "consumer friendly". And I would really like for consumers to push Sony in the same direction.

Well i am sure you and your lemming friends are some of those who have mental problems.

Loading Video...

You people have in deed such mental problems, that you can't even remember Phil Spencer been part of the damn xbox one team, the xbox division isn't run like germany was on world war 2,people give ideas and even that there is a head i am 100% sure that all decisions are not made by just 1 guy.

I see it sometimes on Twitter and other places, where people want to call me out as somebody who was at the leadership table when decisions were made for Xbox One, and that's absolutely true.

"I've never tried to wash my hands or distance myself from my role on the Xbox One leadership team through the announcement of the console, E3 2013 - I was there, and I'm not trying to create some kind of false history that makes me look better, to say I wasn't there, I wasn't involved.

https://www.cinemablend.com/games/Phil-Spencer-Xbox-One-Former-DRM-I-Going-Take-Responsibility-Decisions-67999.html

So abording again that mental problem thing is easy to see who has it,when someone take responsibility for something and you can't even admit that he did take responsibility then you probably have a mental problem, you denial is so big that you disconnect from reality and have to create an alternate future where Phil Actually didn't take credit because he was part of the team, but because it was the professional thing to do.

We have to erase from our collective minds that he was on that 2013 show screaming tv tv tv sport sports sports.

Which bring me to my second point how was sony disrespectful to its consumer.?

Mess up with its online service.? You mean the whole hack that happen 5 years into the generation.? Yeah like xbox live accounts been stolen wasn't all over the net, even damn major nelson account was hijack.

https://www.zdnet.com/article/xbox-live-hacked-accounts-stolen/

https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/10/as-xbox-live-fifa-12-fraud-continues-microsofts-response-becomes-maddening/#comment-22196508

https://www.engadget.com/2007/12/30/pro-gamer-gets-xbl-account-stolen-for-halo-3-armor/

Microsoft's customer service is almost legendary in terms of how awful it is, but one woman in particular may have unlocked the Master Sword of incompetence. Susan Taylor awoke one day to find that her Xbox Live account was hacked, and $214.97 of MS Points had been purchased and transferred out. Microsoft would do all in its power to help. Or rather, help the hackers get away with it.

https://www.destructoid.com/xbox-live-account-hacked-microsoft-is-there-to-not-help--219144.phtml

Please don't talk about online problems when live accounts were been stolen since 2006 and documented since 2007,all last gen it happen there was even a blackmarket were those accounts were sold accounts with high points or cool names were hacked.

And MS didn't help at all it had some bullshit policies that basically let your hacker ran with your money,at least sony had the decency to put a 1 million dollar policy for any one who suffer damage which no one claimed..lol

Hell let's go back again to your mental problem because you have to be derange to call the PS3 overpriced, expensive sure it was over priced no chance in hell.

Blu-ray on 2006 was $1,000 dollars stand alone.

HD-DVD $800

Xbox 360 20GB $400 with xbox live $450.

Now if you wanted HD movies it was either $400 + $1,000 or $400 + $200 from MS HD-DVD adapter which bring the xbox 360 total to $1,400 if you went 360+blu-ray or $600 if you went HD-DVD +360.

The PS3 was $600 but unlike the xbox 360 which came with a 20GB HDD that only 12GB were for use,the PS3 came with 60GB HDD,wifi out of the box on xbox 360 that was $99,media card reader which the xbox 360 didn't even have,oh did i mention than an extra HDD for 360 was $99.?

Basically to get what you got on PS3 on the 360 side you need it a ton of cash even going HD-DVD adapter it would have cost you more than a PS3,to add insult to injury, there was a $500 PS3 that was just $50 more than an premium 360 with live the value of the PS3 pissed all over the 360.

Lack of games.? Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Wait aren't you one of those lemming who thinks Backward compatibility counts.?

Guess what the PS3 was compatible on day 1 with over 5,000 games 2 full generations of games no question ask, they all worked,FF7,FF tactics,Tomb Raider,Resident evil 1,2,3,Vagrant Story,MGS,MGS2,GTA 3,VC,San andreas,teken,VF,MK3,dead or alive 1,2 hardcore,GT1,2,3 Jack, shadow of the colossus,DMC,Zone of Enders you name it all were there, and somehow you say they didn't have games because of over confidence they did have games in fact in 2007 Uncharted was release,so was warhawk and many other games, but your argument just prove my point you lemmings are a bunch of hypocrites and you care about BC now because is not on PS4,you just prove it look how you claim sony has lack of games, when it had more than 5,000 games on day 1,let me guess BC doesn't count when it is for PS..hahahaa

You know what is funny by this time last gen the PS3 was delivering games, the xbox one isn't delivering shit loss its games to PC and lemmings have to live out of scrap from the 360.

The xbox one is not even a shadow of what the 360 was,and you lemmings really are the ones with mental problems.

I think we all know what the “real” reason is for Microsoft being more consumer friendly is, it’s to trigger cows, and it’s working marvellously. ?

EA had the lowest estimate of anyone. One group claims the Xbox One has sold nearly 40 million units thus far. I personally believe its between 36-40 million. Especially considering sales have been up year over year for the One for awhile now. It's not doing as bad as some believe. It's just Sony knocked it out of the park this gen. MS is in the money making business. They are trying to find ways to make more money.

@tormentos: Dude seriously take a chill pill. At this point I don't even know what are you talking about. I never even mentioned backcompatibility. Why would it matter for one console and not for the other? Where's the logic in that? I own a PS4 Pro, if anything I resent not having it now. The PS3 having BC right now means nothing to me. It's like me saying that the Xbox One is doing fine regarding exclusives because the X360 had a strong lineup. What the hell...

While reading some of the cows comments in here 2 things spring to mind, firstly I imagine this is what they look like

And secondly with the obsession the cows have for MS it begs the question

We already discus that number EA is closer to MS that the firm who did that estimate.

Xbox sales are behind the 360.

This is what all 3 supposedly sold this month on NPD.

PS4] 221k

[NSW] 166k

[XB1] 144k

This down is exactly what was sold in may 2009 exactly month by month the same time frame.

  • Wii - 289,500
  • Xbox 360 - 175,000
  • PS3 - 131,000

Se how even with sales spike year over year the xbox one is behind what the xbox 360 was selling by 31k,so last year was even worse, considering there is a year over year increase.

  • Nintendo DS - 452.6K
  • PlayStation 3 - 208.7K
  • Xbox 360 - 186.6K

May 2008 so if we compare may 2017 vs may 2008 is even worse, this is why i say the 360 is ahead of the xbox one easy.

What is the point of this thread? And isn't this obvious to anyone with at least two brain cells?

Consumer electronics - Gaming is highly competitive market with console, pc and mobile options. They released a product which didn't resonate with consumers and lost market share because of it. Aren't they supposed to regroup and look for ways to be more consumer friendly?

Are you saying this is wrong? Or they shouldn't? Don't you think they should earn and re-earn our business just like every other competitive market?

Do you think this is different than Sony learning from last gen? Releasing a weird configuration that made it hard to produce games at first and with underwhelming performance results? With a really high launch price? That people would work two jobs to afford? (remember that reference?)

Clearly Sony learned from last gen and released a very good product at a reasonable price point. They also learned they could get away with charging for mp.

So again, isn't this obvious and what kind of astonishing revelation are you trying push on us? Because of course it is true. You screw up, lose share, look for opportunities to regroup, and try again. If the customer isn't at the center of that you are just screwing yourself again.

This is absolutely a non-thread that has somehow made it tp 6 pages because of SWs nonsense.

EA has the lowest estimate by far, so why are we going by what they say and not the dozens of other sources? Seems like you're going by what they say because it is the lowest number out there and it gives you a narrative.

Also, where are you pulling these numbers for the Xbox one from? MS stopped sharing them. Just random guesses I presume.

Xbox were arrogant last gen, got knocked off their pedestal, and have now been humbled this gen. It has happened before to every gaming company that was on top, including Atari, Nintendo, Sega and Sony.

Strange, I heard that the change in heart was more because Phil Spencer now has full control over the Xbox department. He no longer has to spout stuff only to have it overturned by whats-his-face who was recently let go. To me, at least, that makes more sense than being a 100% sales related thing. They just want to make money, but being for the gamer and having games (maybe eventually?) are the way to go.

More truth to this statement then the cow spun up bullshit about Microsoft. Cows analyzing Microsoft is just laughable because it is only fueled by the hate they have with Microsoft. EA says 30 million another company says 40 but we can only believe 30 because it fits the cows narrative better. The truth is not a single person actually knows the sales except for Microsoft and until those numbers are released by Microsoft all numbers that come out are bullshit period.

MS is playing the long game. Consoles are damn near computers. MS operating systems run most computers. Think it through. Not all that hard to imagine MS overtaking everyone overtime.

That's odd because consoles are running PC hardware, the same architecture, made by the same company and one of the modern consoles is literally running Windows. So, you are factually incorrect in stating its "no closer to this being a truth." Don't fight reality. :)

umm weird? 17 years ago consoles were nothing like computers. I would say that alone puts us a lot closer. If you do not see how much has changed you must be blind. Microsoft as a company has unlimited resources compared to Sony. Sony is not a very rich company (funny side point Sony is Japan's 4th richest company Nintendo ranked #1 as of November 2017) My point is that with unlimited cash and near global control of computer operating systems that Microsoft has, alot can happen.

Sony NEEDS to do amazing in the video game space, because it is failing miserably in most other areas. Microsoft's game revenue is not even a sliver of their overall pie. I'm not saying by any means that MS cares to take over gaming at all(if they REALLY wanted to the could buy and sell Sony several times over) what I am saying is that it is not all that hard to imagine a future that Sony and Nintendo may very well all run on MS operating systems through advanced cloud computing or whatever other handy tech the world comes up with.

The entire "System War" concept is something that most gamers and developers really do not need to care about once the boxes are gone. Look at Netflix. DVD/Blue rays do not even sell anymore due to digital and you do not need a special box for it to work. If you think video games are not headed the same way, you really are delusional. What has changed in 17 years? Damn near everything.
