No really it's that simple you see big wig CEO's BAIl all the time why they can when they see that the Corp they run is slipping or heading towards muddy waters. They Bail because they can and they have the experience to catch on elsewhere for another Corp.
I suppose that's the same reason Peter Moore left Microsoft, right?Storm_Marine
To be honest i think in some sorts yes he did not want to be known as Mr. RROD. But i firmly also beleive he left with good blessing from MS under the notion that he will give the inside edge to MS for all EA negociations.

That would make sense, but PS3 outsold X360 last year and Blu-ray has officially won. 2007 all in all was a pretty good year for them after a lot of challenges.
That makes sense. They stuck around while the PS3 was failing miserably, and now that things are picking up and looking brighter, they leave? :|

Sony has won the format war. But they will never have the gaming market like they did with PS1 and PS2. Becuase the Wii 2 will say oh HELLL NOOZZZZZ And so will Xbox 720. They both took HUGE ground from Sony.
And Ken And Phil have rolled on why they could save face.
OR they just might have wanted to move on. Storm_Marine
Tes this is possible.
But logical sense tells you that if Sony was still basking in greatness of PS1-PS2 they would still be there soaking up all the press saying we are the greatest.

Gotta love fanboy logic.
Think about it, if the PS3 has a 10 year life cycle and things seems to just started to get going for the PS3, why would he just resign just like that!?! He either got fired for bashing his on company and/or he realize there's no future with Sony and the PS3. Play B3yond.

TC your an idiot.
Yeah they left because a multi billion dollar company is going to go bankrupt and then they will end up jobless. Please i'm sick of these retarted threads by people who don't wanto to use their minds and post. If your gonna post garbage please before you do so go and hit your head against a wall 100 times so you get internal bleeding and die so we dont have to see another offspring of your genetic pool in our world again.

He might be right and I am not looking at this from a fanboy's perspective. It will probably be the best decision they ever made actually.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't it get outsold by the 360 in UK\EU and in the US last year?? So the only place it outsold the 360 was in Japan and it launched in June. So in reality the PS3 got outsold in every major market except Japan. Not to mention the PS3 launch which gave a boost to other wise lack luster sales. I wouldn't brag about the PS3 outselling the 360 for the year when it fact it was only in Japan.
Sony and Microsoft have lost all their good execs. Nintendo still has Miyamoto, Iwata and Reggie
It's very strange

No ps3 owned europe, thats where it has sold the most at, ps3 owned europe and japan and 360 did better in NA

Nope, it outsold the 360 in japan, and apparently most of the EU. The UK and the US were the only place where the 360 outsold it, and in the UK it was pretty tight. The PS3 collectively sold 10 million worldwide in 2007, whereas i think the 360 sold 7 or 8 million.

Haha, I have a 360 and a Wii.....but Right now is when PS3 is actually starting to scare me...they won the blue-ray war...which means people will be buying more PS3's and it will creep up on 360 and maybe could even catch up to Wii in the long run

I still dont buy that the PS3 outsold the 360 last year. I just dont buy it. I saw the numbers they were posting, and I just cannot believe that the PS3 made up that much of a difference throughout the rest of the world.
Anyways, as far as the TCs post, it sounds like flamebait to me.
I only see bright things for PS3s future. There had to have been other reasons.Killfox
At GDC he expressed his distaste at the way Sony Japan operates. Sony management is prone to disputes like this - one of the lead hardware designers of the PS3 apparently wanted more advertising of the console's Blu-ray capabilities. He was shifted from SCEI to Sony a few months later.
Sony is not a gaming industry it is much more just like MS isn't simply dedicated to the Xbox. Both companies have more important and profitable areas. This fanboy crap gets tiresome quickly although it's fun to read most of the time. Sony and Miscrosoft were succesful before consoles and I'm pretty sure these guys that just left were a part of Sony before the whole console success and both of these companies will be profitable if they choose to drop consoles.
Unless Apple and Panasonic take them out:P

Thats what happens when you take statistics too seriously. The most posted numbers were NPDs and that accounts for the U.S. only. Not to mention its far from accurate missing numbers from big chains like walmart and online stores.
head officials have left all 3 companies :P
besides Ken and Phil have promised so much and delivered so little, they deserved to be fired.

Why are you being such a fanboy? The PS3 has not been a failure at all so far. It hasn't sold as strong as the Wii, but it outsold 360 last year. The XBOX brand will never beat out the Playstation brand, until it has world wide appeal.

That's what happens when some people think that NPD = end all, be all sale figures. It's only America. The PS3 was getting such bad press in America and people must have thought it was selling horribly around the world.
