Yeah, some exclusives sell well like Starcraft and The Witcher, etc. But when it comes to multi-plats and high profile exclusives, console games generally sell better.

I'll one up his statement with BF3. You had better have the most recent hardware if you want to run that thing without issues. In my case, I would have to get a whole new video card. My machine will run everything else on the market, but BF3 requires drivers my card cannot handle. Its the same song and dance. Console games get better and better on the same hardware which lasts for 8-10 years. PC games get better and better but require you to upgrade your box every 2-3 years at least if not have to buy a whole new PC. That's not even touching driver or version compatibility issues. By the 8-10 year time frame is up, you've spent enough money to by 5 consoles at least plus XBL memberships and every accessory known to man. For what? Some higher resolutions on BF3? Considering we're in a part of PC gaming where upgrading has considerably slowed, a few games requiring beastly hardware upgrades do not mean too much. I haven't upgraded in 3 years (e8400 and a 4870) and yet I don't do too bad regarding the majority of multiplats released (some are an issue).

Some people do not have gaming rigs. As for "most", when we have over a billion estimated computers in 2008, then i'm not surprised that "most" aren't intended to run newer games. However, that does not prove that there is not a sizeable gaming market out there (as proved in recent revenue reports).

Those issues have plagued PC gaming pretty much since its inception. It's an open platform, and it's both a positive and a negative.

china thats why 1 billion people who all prefer PC Gaming as of now, most of them play free mmos or pirate alot but if time passes the chinese market will bring more and more money. Dame they have even a world of warcraft theme park. I also dont think they would play on consoles if they have enough money since all consoles are from japan or america. The chinese government and most of the chinese wouldnt like it so they would push their kids for PC Gaming or make their own console, but then again all consoles are made in china lol, so who knows.

Well then, seeing as PC gaming sales surpass any single console (without the inclusion of MMO or social gaming) and surpass all consoles combined when including MMO and social gaming...then um...yeah.... :)

There is room for both. Right at this moment PC Gaming dominates anyhow. If you include MMO/social gaming, game revenue is larger than all the other consoles combined. If you disclude MMO and social gaming, the PC games sales market is still larger than any single console.

Consoles don't release dd sales either, last game I bought was dd on psp

How do you know this? DD accounts for around 50% of the US market for games distribution in the US (source: NPD) and Steam is well-known for not releasing any sales figures.

How large of an impact does DD have with regards to the consoles?

In MAG you have 64 players on a given area not 256.

i just show you that pc have more high scoreing exclusives. Now if you don't like them that is you problem.

You do know that the Chinese get a whole seperate version of the game with tons of edits right? It's a night mare to make a western game work in China.

Oh dear...you need to go back to page 2 and read through the post carefully. PC games sales + MMO = $4.3 B + $2.6 B = $6.9 Billion. Compared to Consoles $8 Billion in 2011. That is what the chart you sent me shows, it includes MMO, game sales and free to play games, NOT social/casual games such as facebook etc. The proportion is roughly the same as in your charts. My figures are the US market only which means the world is on the same wavelength. Roughly the same proportions.

If you included Social/Casual games as I did in my post, which I explained clearly;

PC - $11.8 Billion

Consoles - $8 Billion

That is the PC v every other console combined. Quite impressive.

What your link there nicely points out is that without Social gaming...PC gaming will surpass consoles in the near future with sales anyhow. Which only furthers the point I was making really.
