The games that are seriously in the running for GOTY are as follows:

360/PC: BIOSHOCK (imo this is the game to beat atm)

360: MASS EFFECT (has a real chance, but we still haven't seen enough of this title to be 100% sure)

Wii: SMG (everyone knows why I think, do I really need to explain?)

Other Possibles but unlikelys include:

Halo3 & MP3 (both franchises I really like/love, but I'm being realistic here)

Sorry, fanboys, but this is it. So choose:

You're forgetting the Sony "Just you wait" policy for gaming, he's asking about 2007 not 2008/9, and what Sony has coming out this year simply isn't at the same level as those games listed.

It'll be Bioshock, i cant see GS giving Mass Effect GOTY, even though i know i'd prefer ME over bioshock

And btw, MP3 and Crysis also have a real chance of GOTY.

Look I said SMG because I'm a sheep but I really think it's between Bioshock and SMG, I wish I could vote for both. Mass effect AA or maybe AAA game but not GOTY, also Halo 3 and MP3 should be up their and maybe even Heavenly sword if it's as good as the Cows make it out to.LOL Cows getting something right means Armageddon coming LOL

Its called "Being Realistic", there's been nothing out on the PS3 that would even get close to topping those, and unless Sony have some uber title coming that they haven't hyped the life out of (and thats pretty unlikely when they hyped the likes of Killzone) then those three seem pretty reasonable.

did you really just mention "ac" as in Ace Combat?? Oh wait, nvm, you mean Assassins Creed, I hope! Meh, Assassins Creed will be another good title, but sry, I don't see GOTY in its future.

AC will be **** sloppy combat and seems very repetitive, and ut3 is pretty much multiplayer onley, they both have no chance at gotyperkazz

The last demo of AC looked rough, but to say it'll suck because of that is mindless. Can't see COD4 or UT3 getting too far as they are sequels that don't really add that much to previous versions of the same franchise, unless a sequel really moves on from its predecessors it won't stand a chance.

I genuinely believe MP3 has a better chance of being GOTY than SMG.

This really isnt a PS3 vs 360 thing for me.... Bioshock is also on the PC, which will be the prettier of the 2 versions and most likely run a little better too, if you've got the proper rig. I wish I could say I'm sorry that none of these 3 titles are appearing on the PS3... but, well, I'm not.

ok you don't see, but others do, so as long you don't decide the goty as gs, i don't think that would be a much of a problem.

What kind of topic is this its more or less agree with me or you are a fanboy Halo 3,COD 4 etc should be there as well. Mass Effect and Bio shock I agree with but Super Mario give me a break.

I love Halo.... but I didn't put it up as a choice, because I don't believe it can stand up to the other 3 titles.

Not to sound mean you can't even put any these games out for GOTY because none of them are even out yet. I understand that you put what game would have the best chance but the bottom line is you can't even say what is gonna have the best chance because the final product is not out yet. Now I know BIOSHOCK has a demo out, and it was a bad ass one at that, but the official game is not out yet. Why don't we wait until these games come out officially then make the interpetation?

Super Mario Galaxy; the true successor to Mario 64, it looks gorgeous for a Wii game, and it goes back to its Mario roots. (btw, I don't own a Wii)

Other than that, maybe Mass Effect.

Good point, however I'm not a patient person, also I believe myself to be quite knowledgable about the game industry and ableto see quality in games b4 I get the finished product, and since I've been gamingfor over 20 years & studied Electronic Game Design in collegeI feel like I got a pretty good idea what a good game is.... I didn't start gaming with the PS or N64, I started with the Coleco Vision baby! Old Skool FTW!

PS- Not saying you started gaming with the PS or N64, I'm just saying, I value the opinions of people who have been gaming longer as opposed to people whose first game was FFVII or Crash Bandicoot on the PS, know what I mean?
