People beat me to it. You forget about God f War 2 and Metriod Prime 3.

Even though i am pretty sure bioshock will win either way.

Realistic my ass, you just don't want anyone to go against your list; which is too bad because i'm going to have to disagree with the choices until the end of '07.

Ditto... I went with Bioshock because it has proven itself so far, whereas Super Mario Galaxy is still a ways off as far as release and reviews go.

On that list: Bioshock. But there are other GOTY contenders you didn't list, so I'm not voting on the poll.

You may not like Halo but you can't write off Halo 3 as GOTY yet, you have no idea how single player will pan out, or how 4 player co-op plays, for all we know it could be the best thing ever.

Really why dont you enlighten me as to which PS3 titles have the same kind of grandeur/detail or atmosphereas ME or BS??

This really isnt a PS3 vs 360 thing for me.... Bioshock is also on the PC, which will be the prettier of the 2 versions and most likely run a little better too, if you've got the proper rig. I wish I could say I'm sorry that none of these 3 titles are appearing on the PS3... but, well, I'm not.

Actually, expect to see Bioshock on the PS3 this coming Spring.

And as for no PS3 games being considered for game of the year--Well HS has just as much chance as SMG (imo HS and SMG will both be great, but the odds are against them). The one PS3 title that has all of the qualities included that really has a chance of GOTY contender is one that has an epic story, amazing graphics, animations better than anything we have seen other than KZ, gun play, hand to hand combat, cover system, etc....well if you haven't guessed it is Uncharted.

IMO Uncharted has just as good of a chance as Crysis or Bioshock. And I would take ME off your list. We have yet to see that much on the game and thus far it looks nothing more than a solid AA game--maybe just barely a AAA game, but definitely not GOTY material.

Its called "Being Realistic", there's been nothing out on the PS3 that would even get close to topping those, and unless Sony have some uber title coming that they haven't hyped the life out of (and thats pretty unlikely when they hyped the likes of Killzone) then those three seem pretty reasonable.

Let's see, what games have a shot at being better than the "guaranteed GoTYs" that are on the PS3? For one thing, nothing's guaranteed (except maybe Bioshock). For one thing, neither Mass Effect nor SMG have any reviews. For another, this person has an obvious bias towards Microsoft/Nintendo titles. Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and maybe even Heavenly Sword have as much of a chance as MP3, Halo 3, Mass Effect and SMG. The reason I leave Bioshock out is because... well... that game just looks like a clearcut contender. The rest, though...

from what i gathered from websites and playing the demo, BIOSHOCk is a very serious contender, i am a lemming and all i can think about is halo3 but bioshock is def bringing something new to the table with this one, it will average a score of 9.8 across all websites, just my opinion

Bioshock, Rock Band, or Brawl have a clear shot. So does Assassin's Creed. And games like GOWII, SMP, and GRAW 2 that have already come out might be good choices.

You're forgetting the Sony "Just you wait" policy for gaming, he's asking about 2007 not 2008/9, and what Sony has coming out this year simply isn't at the same level as those games listed.

The games that are seriously in the running for GOTY are as follows:

360/PC: BIOSHOCK (imo this is the game to beat atm)

360: MASS EFFECT (has a real chance, but we still haven't seen enough of this title to be 100% sure)

Wii: SMG (everyone knows why I think, do I really need to explain?)

Other Possibles but unlikelys include:

Halo3 & MP3 (both franchises I really like/love, but I'm being realistic here)

Um who are you calling fanboy? What about Cod4, Crysis, Uncharted or Heavnely sword. There are many nominees for GOTY and just for your info the highest rated game doesnt alwasy get GOTY. A game is rated by one reviewer while GOTY is nominated by all the editors.
