Yet if anyone makes a complaint that maybe Nintendo should try taking more risky projects under their belt it's called "trolling nintendo" Look at all the money they just made!! They are rolling in cash at this point. Take a few risks in the software department. Do something new and different. People want to see something new and different because NINTENDO is a quality developer. Personally I hold them to the highest of standards when it comes to fundamentals and polish. The Zelda series is a shining example of that.

NINTENDOMINATION!

2 billion $ in profit

I wonder what Nintendo is planning with that kind of money....

Sony blew pretty much all their PS1/PS2 profits on the PS3 :P

Strangely enough, I have yet to contribute to that stash of money. :P I'll probably buy a Wii after the new Zelda comes out.

With that much money, they can create a Super Console that will destroy everything in terms of Graphics and Gameplay.

That's amazing. Good strategy this generation -- and the success of their new Wii IPs is pretty incredible.

Interesting numbers. What a huge comeback from last gen! Makes you wonder why the industry keeps saying Nintendo is doomed.

I wish they would stray out of their comfort zone, but from a business stand point I can definitely see why they don't feel they need to. With IPs like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon they could probably still be slaughtering the competition this gen

Yeah, I agree. Give us a fresh translation and maybe some extra stuff like the OST and artbook to make up for 3+ years of not releasing one of the greatest RPGs of all-time in North America.

To be fair Nintendo has come up with new IP's this gen which have been very successful. I'm assuming you want a Nintendo IP that is meatier and rich in content as well as original. I too desire this. With Nintendo pushing motion plus with their lastest sku and E3 just around the corner, I hope we get to see some amazing software that takes advantage of Wii's greatest strengths.

That's because Nintendo of America isn't in charge of that stuff. All they do is translate the games, marketing, human resources, or out-source games to other devs...

The key of their success??

1- Take old tech and sell it as if it was new.

2- Take old (and successful)franchises and give them a coat of paint.

3- Come up with the most gimmicks you can ever imagine.

People eat those up.

Lol nintendo pumps quality after quality titles on the Wii?? What planet are you living on? In terms of games the Wii sucks, mine just collects dust...maybe mario kart the odd time when friends come over but thats just about it. I had quite highs hopes for the Wii 2 when i got it! Wheres the decent shooting games? New zelda? Starfox? I dont mind the poor graphics, I have a gaming pc for that...but expected some decent gameplay with the wii remote but doesnt look like it will ever come. Wii just has shallow casual game after casual game with the odd overrated mario game that sells millions. Cant tell u how disappointed i was with the new super mario bros....super mario world for the snes is a far far better game in almost every way and how many years old is it?

I'm very happy to see them succeed so much.

Just seeing my parents or little sisters enjoy a system so much, and their friends as well. And the thing is is that it's not limiting my fun at all. I enjoy these Nintendo systems, and games right along side with them.

I can not wait till I get my own Wii.

Something different from the Wii line yes. Something that truly takes advantage of the Wiimote for the same type of audience that fell in love with Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfo, Donkey Kong, etc.

Im sry but what age are you? 3rd party are scared to make an above average game on the wii? They are intentionally making poor games? Lol maybe cause they are smart enough to realise they can make a crap game and advertise it half decently and it will probably sell millions. TP was a good game I admit but not a reason to buy a wii saying that its on the gamecube 2. Im a massive fan of zelda and this is definitely the game i played most, MP3...not really my style of game, didnt really get into it. SMG...just about completed it, no where near as good as super mario 64 and i definitely didnt find it to be mindblowing. No other game for the wii has really interested me at all...maybe red steel 2 but i dont think the short good part after the tutorials is really worth the money...

Now where's MOTHER 4, Nintendo!?

jg4xchamp

Or atleast a MOTHER 3 remake on DS for this country. how they have held arguaby one of the best JRPGs this gen strictly in Japan is beyond me.

The creator of the Mother series doesn't like making them Nintendo had to convince (Force) him to make Mother 3. I doubt that will work again with Mother 4.

[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"]

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] Or atleast a MOTHER 3 remake on DS for this country. how they have held arguaby one of the best JRPGs this gen strictly in Japan is beyond me. AfterBurnerZ

The creator of the Mother series doesn't like making them Nintendo had to convince (Force) him to make Mother 3. I doubt that will work again with Mother 4.

What? That is in no way true. Itoi loves his series, it's like a child to him. :|

Maybe it was somebody else involved with the Mother series because I read him complaigning about too much dialogue and it is tiring.

Cant tell u how disappointed i was with the new super mario bros....super mario world for the snes is a far far better game in almost every way and how many years old is it?

dom2000

so nintendo the developers dont pump out quality titles?

if so then why are the third party so scared to make an above average game on the wii? its because nintendo dominates in making games they're like nike they just do it:P.

you can have your own opinion but in reality its not all about you and this is proven by the critically acclaimed praise by nintendo games and how well they sale. MP3,SMG,TP,NSMBW,and many others will like to have a word with you....

No other game for the wii has really interested me at all...maybe red steel 2 but i dont think the short good part after the tutorials is really worth the money...

im 17 and post with more logic then majority of this board?is there an issue? and all you did out that whole rant was not justify me wrong but actually correct while stating your opinion about how you feel about those games. like i said the world is not about you.

Everybody that has a problem with Galaxy has no complaint about it but say"it wasnt as good as SM64" which is an opinion.

and yes third party dont make above average wii games on the wii they spent all their development cost on trying to break even on the hd systems but then they realized the wii was not a joke but instead a major contender in the gaming industry.

Add along that nintendo games do have long legs and are very well made(they are one of the best out their) they make shovelware and "attempts" at a good game. They dont put as much time in effort in wii games then they do on the hd systems but get suprised when they see bad sales.

Yeah, it had to have been someone else considering Itoi writes the story, scenarios, and basically does all of the dialogue. And very splendidly too.

Great for Nintendo.

But they have had so much success because they appealed and tryed to sell their system more to the casual audience.

From what I can see posting with more logic than most of this board really isnt anything to brag about :P Ill love to know where you get yours facts from ^^ Any evidence for these claims your making? If 3rd party developers spent alot of money on making a high quality wii game, would it sell better than it would on the other consoles? I doubt it. Its pretty clear the target audience for wii games are casual gamers...other games for other audiences just dont sell anywhere near as well as they do on the other consoles. I found the levels of SMG to be less enjoyable than the ones in SM64.....I dont have to specify a specific complaint, I just find large open levels more fun than levels broken up by planets you run around.

So have you bought Okami, de Blob, or Little King's Story yet?

No i cant say I have. And would I be right in saying those games have no sold very well?

Okami sold better on the Wii than it did on the PS2 despite catering to a far smaller userbase and de Blob is getting a sequel. I don't know about Little King's Story, though. Perhaps your Wii is collecting dust and perhaps you think the Wii just offers one shallow casual game after the other because you obviously aren't looking for and buying the quality games for the Wii as I depicted? I myself kind of regret getting a PlayStation 3 because the Wii by itself would have been more than enough in terms of games. Now I have yet another platform I can't keep up with.

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Yet if anyone makes a complaint that maybe Nintendo should try taking more risky projects under their belt it's called "trolling nintendo" Look at all the money they just made!! They are rolling in cash at this point. Take a few risks in the software department. Do something new and different. People want to see something new and different because NINTENDO is a quality developer. Personally I hold them to the highest of standards when it comes to fundamentals and polish. The Zelda series is a shining example of that. BPoole96

I wish they would stray out of their comfort zone, but from a business stand point I can definitely see why they don't feel they need to. With IPs like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon they could probably still be slaughtering the competition this gen

You forget the last gen those IPs did not help Nintendo much.

Indeed great writing and great emotion. From a JRPG no less. I'd actually enjoy more JRPGs if they had anywhere near the same level of quality as Mother 3.

Its collecting dust as the few quality games it has that I dont have (very low number) dont appeal to me and I see no reason to waste my money on them when there are much better games I can get for my pc and ps3. If however the new zelda comes out and nintendo surprises us with a new star fox games (a proper sequal to starfox64) and perhaps a decent shooting game thats not crap like the conduit then I would defintely put the wii above the other 2 consoles. Tbh i started off as a console gamer with a n64 which i love to this day, but since i started pc gaming everything else just lacks depth in comparison. Ps3 and xbox give a similar but inferior gameplay experience I thought the wii would fill a niche but it just doesnt have the games and the wii remote has been poorly implemented. Much prefer me older n64!

Great job Nintendo! Now you have no excuse. Give me a solid online. Give me HD. Publish Fatal Frame 4, your Japan I.P's, etc. I support your console, your games, it's time you support me, too.

The key of their success??

1- Take old tech and sell it as if it was new.

2- Take old (and successful)franchises and give them a coat of paint.

3- Come up with the most gimmicks you can ever imagine.

People eat those up.
