The SYSTEM WARS Most Anticipated Game of 2016 Is...

Don't get pissed dude the work you guys put into this is appreciated (may not seem like it but it is).

There's just no way in hell a mainstream game like UC4 topping a most wanted list is going to go down well in System Wars, especially when a lot of games that are more deserving of the accolade didn't even get into the top 10 besides there are a fair few posters in System Wars with alt accounts that are years old, something I'm sure you're well aware of.

Just my opinion of course.

@Cloud_imperium: Although Deus Ex is a good game, i wouldnt say its very popular. Im happy it made it on the top ten though. But compared to the others, its not even close to popularity and anticipation as the rest. Not saying its not popular, cause millions love it, but when you compare the numbers, its not even close. Horizon im not sure why its on there, i guess people like the developers maybe, im not familiar with them. I would say Farcry Primal has way more hype, anticipation and popularity then Horizon.

That's true. In most polls PC wins (including "PC exclusives vs Console exclusives" thread in 2015). I think the reason why PC sometimes PC games don't reach such lists is because the library is too big and everyone votes for different games.

I mentioned Deus Ex as an example. Deus Ex is also much older than Uncharted and it's multiplatfrom too. But most people like simpler (run and gun) experiences, so I can see why some other games are more popular.

@Cloud_imperium: Yeah, not many are into Stealth type games too much, except Metal Gear that is, but even it is not as big as people make it out to be. Im not big into Deus Ex either, i enjoyed it, but i had a lot of issues with its story and removing me from the fun gameplay. I might try the new Deus Ex, but i wont be buying it day 1.

Ahem, pretty much every game in the top 10 is mainstream, especially stuff like Mass Effect, Zelda, Final Fantasy or Dark Souls.

There is not a single indie game on this list and only one handheld game. So I don't get it why everybody complains about UC4, but not the other picks...

I'm sure Uncharted 4 will be a great game for what it is and I'll enjoy it, but most anticipated? Personally would take xcom 2 over 2 uncharted games.

@Cloud_imperium: Yeah, I can definitely, absolutely agree with you on the number 1 not being what I personally would have wanted it to be.

That's a fair view to take- you're obviously concerned that things you like may be looked over in favor of things you don't like, because things you don't like appear to be more popular. I can understand that- although hopefully, the gaming market is now big enough that all tastes can be catered to!

Man, I had to count this three times- I'd been tallying the votes as the voting had been going on, and Zelda won that, and I was like, okay, I can see this, this is cool. But I obviously did the count again, because you have to do it all over at least once after the votes are all in to see you got everything right, and Uncharted got that. So I did it again, because there was a disparity, just to make sure, and yeah, Uncharted had it.

Ah well. At least it was a narrow win, and Persona 5 was in the Top 5. That made me feel better lol.

That's another thing- most Nintendo people will vote for Zelda, most PlayStation people will vote for Uncharted. But PC has too many high profile exclusives so the votes get spread out.

Happy to see Uncharted 4 as #1 but no Nier (my #2) on the list hurts. It looks like Uncharted 4 will win on Neogaf as well by a large margin for the 2nd year in a row. I think Uncharted will surprise people, the one game I see surpassing MGSV and SM3DW on Metacritic. Also need something like Uncharted after all this open world fatigue, the beta made me realize just how much they improved the core mechanics.

I'm up for another Uncharted game. Judging from the beta, the gameplay should be alright.

I just want to clarify with everyone that I think Uncharted 4 looks like shit.. not because it's a PS4 exclusive, but that it looks like a simple, run of the mill 3rd Person Shooter that the market is flooded with enough of already.

Yep Uncharted 4 is my most anticipated game this year which says a lot when you consider the number of amazing games that will be releasing this year. I just can't wait to see what Naughty Gods have been up to. I know I'm in for a treat :D

As for the list itself, I'm disappointed that NMS isn't on it, but not at all surprised. I get that a lot of SW users aren't really sure why they should feel hyped for it. I'm also surprised Dishonored 2 was overlooked, but they can't all make it to the top 10, I guess. I just hope now that half the list doesn't get pushed back to 2017 like last year.

Well, No Man's Sky did make the list last year- I'm imagining that the constant delays, lack of new footage or information, and the rumors that the game is stuck in development hell have all killed its hype somewhat, took the wind out from its sails.

FF at the very least is confirmed for 2016. But yeah, Horizon or Mass Effect slipping to 2017? I can see that. In fact I am convinced ME4 is going to be a Q1 2017 release, just like other ME games before it.

That's a good list, I intend to buy seven or eight of those at the very least. I'm not sure I personally would not have voted for Uncharted at 1 (or even anywhere in the top 5), but it's a community vote- what're you gonna do, eh?

True, this last year kinda hurt the momentum it had... We'll have to see what the mood towards it is this spring as the release date nears.

Guys, it's not like char picked this top 10 by himself. It was a community vote. We all picked this list together.

This, the vote was handled pretty well imo. I dont personally agree with uncharted being number 1, but I can see why people would want it and I'll probably end up picking it up. If someone has a problem with the votes they can always count the votes themselves and get the same result. It was a group effort, not just one person's opinion.
