The SYSTEM WARS Most Anticipated Game of 2016 Is...

I'm looking forward to a new Zelda. I'm a longtime fan from the very first cart I played on my NES (Still going strong, thank Ganon!).

I bought two launch Wii U's in 2012 and I never figured by Jan 2016 I still wouldn't be playing an all new Zelda for my Wii U.

Here's hoping the brand new Zelda Wii U comes out soon (and it's NOT transferred or delayed for the NX)!

@SolidTy: Agreed, I am a big Zelda fan, I dont collect but love the games, I really really want Zelda U to come out this year, the smart money would be to release it on the NX though to show case its power, if it doesn't come to WiiU then I will buy an NX for it. We havent seen anything since that very early footage at the first game awards, I think Nintendo will show it at E3 this year, then delay it into 2017.

I don't think it will get delayed- I think it is releasing this year on the Wii U, regardless of whether or not it is made an NX launch title as well.

Too bad that Project Diva X didn't make it, not that I was ever expecting to see it.

Good to see the hype train for Fire Emblem going strong though, hoping they somehow manage to make a better game than Awakening with it.

Persona 5 beat Dark Souls III? I wouldn't have expected that. I suppose since Souls games have been yearly now.

Fanboys are funny in this thread. So what if a PS4 exclusive was the most anticipated game on the year? The game doesn't have to agree with your preference to be legit.

Maybe the loud mouth posters in here need to come back to reality and deal with the fact that PS4 might be the highest selling system because more people are excited for the games it has than the stuff you guys hype. Against all odds last gen Sony proved with PS3 that their devs could make games that were overwhelmingly considered better than anything else out at the time and to the great dismay of loud mouth playstation haters, one of those games was Uncharted.

It's ok to personally have a different # 1 anticipated game for this year (as I did myself) but to come in here and try to trash talk a series with butthurt posts for it's spot on this poll when it was universally recognized as one of the best new franchises of last gen is fanboy sour grapes.

Vocal playstation hating system wars fanboys need to wake up from their fantasyland dream bubble where their constant hate and desperate attempts to discredit all the industry verified GOTY winning AAA titles that Sony has are somehow bad. The reality is that people complaining about Uncharted winning are the vocal minority of a group of insecure fanboys who can't deal with others liking something they constantly hate on and salty to see it's No 1 spot after all their fanboy efforts.

I'm thoroughly hyped for Uncharted 4. It's strange that it isn't at the top of my personal list, but I'm not confused as to why it's the most anticipated game here.

Pretty much purchasing Uncharted 4, Persona 5, The Legend of Zelda U, and Final Fantasy XV all at release. Everything else is being put on hold till price drops per my focus on not buying games I'm not dying for at full price. It's gonna be a good year with that many day 1 purchases. ^_^

Not my personal no 1 as Street Fighter V tops my list but still it's funny to watch fanboys whine, not because their most hyped game isn't number one but because it's a Sony exclusive.

I just checked this thread out first cause it's our community-driven list and I haven't had as much time in System Wars as I'd like to have had this past week. Uncharted 4 is a good pick though. I'm definitely eager to see how Naughty Dog ends this series that I love.

Oh, and not my most anticipated either. I can't remember what I voted, but right now I'd vote:
1. The Legend of Zelda U
2. Persona 5
3. Uncharted 4

I didn't participate in this. Uncharted being no 1 is bit of a surprise here, but its a game that has no where to go but come out in 2016 for ps4. Alot of games on that list just feel like something is going to happen to them.

8, 10A, and 10B are the only 3 games on that list I have any actual excitement for. Not saying the front 7 can't be good games, hell great ones, but in the case of Zelda and Uncharted: Hooray another one, the mass effect games never play well and I'm apparently crazy for judging video games based on gameplay, wild I know, Persona I can take or leave, hooray another Dark Souls, another Fire Emblem, and I didn't actually play enough Human Revolution to get invested into Mankind Divided I guess.

Even the staunchest Mass Effect apologists can't honestly pretend that shooting engine has ever been a pro for this series. The movement is so fucking wooden, and no amount of "but its this genre, its this other thing the game does" could possibly be a defense, when so much of my time is spent going to a place and playing a lesser version of Gears of War. No amount of bionic powers on a hot key could make that combat particularly engaging, or varied, or tactical or anything.

You need to stop supporting the death of fun in video games koofia.

Gunplay in Mass Effect 2 was barely even serviceable, no doubt about it.

But it improved significantly in Mass Effect 3. It still wasn't anything special, if it were categorized as a TPS, it would be considered mid-tier at the best, but the combination of the improved shooting and mobility and biotic powers made it much more enjoyable and playable than ME2. But no, it wasn't tactical by any stretch of the imagination. It was enjoyable on a very superficial level though.

If the leaks are to be believed, combat in Andromeda is going to be a lot better, so fingers crossed.

I played through all 3 games, there is enough gameplay concepts that I find enjoyable to finish those games, but as far as excitement? Let me put it this way, I didn't buy ME3, I went in knowing full well that it was impossible for them to have a good ending, so I just rented the thing. For the most part I never thought it was a bad game, I think the ending is shit and the space kid ghost thing is exceptionally stupid, but the game was an overall enjoyable experience.

But excitement? nah, it's no different than the rest of that list. Uncharted 2 is a rad game, The Last of Us is a rad game, doesn't necessarily mean I'm excited for another Uncharted. Zelda's been really good, can't say I'm excited about barely any footage of another Zelda game. Law of diminishing returns and all that jazz, I'd be the same way if Bayonetta 3 was on that list, right up until the day before that game comes out, then I'm excited as **** lol

@jg4xchamp: Eh, I see what you mean. I thoroughly enjoyed Uncharted 2 and 3 but I couldn't give less shits about UC4 personally, the same goes any for any potential future Pokemon games, in spite of how much I enjoyed OR/AS.

I'm also not nearly as excited for ME: Andromeda as I was for ME2 or ME3, but I guess that's mostly because of this not being a continuation of a story I am invested in. But when I hear/read Mass Effect, my brain shuts down and tells me I have to be excited, so I listen to it lol. Can't help it :P

It's only obvious uncharted 4 is number one , the ps4 sells a lot better than the xbox one so this means a lot more people have playstations.

This game has been hyped through the roof as well.

1. Most people on NeoGaf are Sony fans.
2. There are more games on PC, so PC votes get split.
3. A lot of great games aren't hyped as mainstream games. Just compare hype surrounding GTA Vice City with Daniel Vavra's (Deliverance director)'s Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. Vice CIty was more popular but casual (same goes for San Andreas) but Mafia had more mature plot and was designed for adult audiences. Same is the case here.
4. Console Exclusives are marketed more because they have to sell systems. Most PC developers spend most resources into the game itself and then the game is made famous by fans, through positive word of a mouth.

Seriously? Wow.... I guess people really like their games to play them rather than them playing their games... The Uncharted series just lacks far too much for me to understand its appeal.

I will say that the very first gameplay footage they showed was a big step up for the series. It learned from The Last of us, but the recent E3 showing, especially the extended version they showed behind closed doors, was absolutely horrendous. People want that kind of stuff?

I'm going to try to explain how it appeals to me. I think people want that because you get both and it fits in with the genre. You get the pure game play that you want of course now with verticality mechanics and what not. You also get set pieces. The different is in this game some stuff that would be cut scenes on other games here you actually play them in some way. It gives you those wtf is going on I actually have to move moments. Example after killing enemies on that market as soon as they get on the gyp in the past or other games it would be time to put the controller down wait for loading screen and watch what transfer as a cut scene. This game takes that removes loading screens, not even like a cut black screen just seamlessly transition to it and tell you to play and interact with it in more ways then just qte too.

And lets be honest this formula has moved in to other genres as well. If you play campaigns of most FPS games for example you get this too. Lets take Halo 5 for example. The beginning where you watch that all cool 7 minutes or so CGI intro. I feel like ND would have taken that and some how made you play it and not just in qte format too. Understandably the gripe I feel should be how it balances that stuff and was it done well or just stupid and junky with technical problems.

I would say most people are sony fans in general, or they have become a fan, just because that is the system that they bought. It's obvious when you look at the sales.

One of the reasons why the ps4 is so popular is because of its extra power, in the end the power difference may not be that big as advertised but the bad launch of xbox made it look like it was. Power has always been a big factor when it comes to consoles. Another reason was the mandatory kinect. It did not only increase the price for a system that was inferior in power, there were also privacy issues. The discussion about drm made everything even worse.

Microsoft has tried to catch up but in the end most of the gamers will stay in sony's camp but let's be honest here even if Microsoft didn't screw up like that, we would still be in the same boat. The pc has been abandoned as the platform for groundbreaking games since devs realized technological advancement wasn't the key to success. It was making the best games as possible on the consoles.

Because of that the pc is not as popular anymore as it used to be, devs don't develop for pc anymore or it is for games that work best on the pc like rts games and mmo's. That's the reason why games like star citizen and deliverance are kickstarter campaigns, the consoles made a coup in 2005 and we're still suffering from that but I think kickstarter games will save us from that.

It is not because certain games are hyped more. That might be true for mediocre games but in the end quality always wins. As good as the mafia games were, gta vice city was a great game and san andreas was simply a masterpiece.

PC is a lot more mainstream than before because it's more accessible. Developers are making great high profile and mid tier games for it. It just doesn't get coverage from mainstream media like gamespot. I recommend you to switch primarily to dsogaming.com.

On other hand, Consoles barely get exclusive these days, that's why terms like "Console Exclusives" are used everywhere these days (more than last gen). Console libraries are extremely small compared to PC's. There are shit ton of games in the works from many genres including FPS, Space Sims, RTS, RPG and so on.

PS: I don't think quality always wins. Best sellers are yearly rehashes and games that are targeted for lowest common denominator mostly win awards. Financially yes, most of the time good games sell and they are profitable but dumb games are more famous.

I named Uncharted 4 nothing. it was not even in my top 5 list in the voting thread. System Wars voted it as the most anticipated game, I just did a write up for it and wrote the thread.

Scores do mean shit, this entire forum is predicated on comparing games' performance, critical and commercial, and guess what, scores are critical performance.

welp, Uncharted wouldn't even make this list for me, much less win it. Imo there has never been a truly great Uncharted game. They are fun but vapid.
