The two best stories of this generation.

Knights in the Nightmare and Silent Hill Shattered Memories. Knights in the Nightmare just had such a compelling, complex, and amazing main storyline, and it was told in such a unique and great way. Not to mention, there was a very well established mythology in the game. And Silent Hill Shattered Memories because of the way the game merges with the story. The game is storytelling. That's all there is to it. There are so many small details that just explaining what happens in the game just doesn't do it justice.

And that is my two cents. It's a shame more people didn't play either of these games.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney with Catherine in a close second.

Well, Phoenix Wright had better story telling, while Catherine had a better story overall. I still give the first place to PW though.

To the moon and Mafia 2

999 and Ghost Trick are my top two, but I have yet to play Nier, which I hear is quite good.

Shattered Memories is my favorite story this gen. I never got into Knights In The Nightmare, I totally forgot I had it. Maybe I should give it another go. I just got Nier as well, so far it hasn't clicked but I do have to say that the music is freaking amazing.

Well, it doesn't hurt to play InFamous 1 first. The story does continue in the second game so...
I'm not saying it's a necessity, but you won't understand everything if you haven't played the first game.

I loved Heavy Rain, but there is one plot hole that really irks me.

[spoiler] The fact they never explained why Ethan had those weird black-outs is really irritating. I mean, he wakes up in the middle of the street holding an origami figure, making him suspect #1, yet they never tell you how he got there or whats wrong with him [/spoiler]

[spoiler] the guy is traumatized, nothing to explain there, thats why he gets the blackout...what I would really like to know is how he got those damned origami figures. also why did the store owner gave gave the box and all that to scott, and not the police? didnt he thought it would be important for the police investigation? heavy rain crawls with plotholes.
