Killzone 3 (so far)

I would have to say Killzone 3...
The flashy screen thing in Crysis 2 was annoying...very annoying...
[QUOTE="RadecSupreme"]
[QUOTE="treedoor"]
Why is Killzone 3 in the competition?
More like Rage vs Crysis 2
treedoor
Because so far Killzone 3 looks more impressive than both.
Corridor shooter? I don't think so.
Much more impressed so far with the environments in Rage and Crysis, and the character models for Rage are incredible. Oh, and Rage runs at 60fps :D
Corrider shooter? YOu haven't been watching the new gameplay videos have you?I know cows are having a hard time letting it go but this should really be between Rage and Crysis 2. Don't worry Cows you guys can play them also :D
The whole atmosphere on both the games is so ridiculously over done. Killzone looks like someone turned up the contrast to max and Crysis 2 has more smoke than a house on fire. Damn I rant about the most stupid things:roll:
I gotta admit, lems are really able to keep hope alive even after its being shot down so many times :DI know cows are having a hard time letting it go but this should really be between Rage and Crysis 2. Don't worry Cows you guys can play them also :D
Ultra_Combo
trailer vs. trailer
i thought the Killzone 3 trailer was better
tho i found the Crysis 2 trailer more annoying so that knocked it down
that said i'm more excited to play Crysis 2 than Killzone 3
I will probably buy both but if this video shows Killzone 3 in alpha stage, then I cannot imagine how good it will be when it releases.

Killzone 3 gets my vote after watching this non-3D video.
[QUOTE="Ultra_Combo"]I know, you could tell by the poll KZ3 shouldn't even be in the discussion!!!I know cows are having a hard time letting it go but this should really be between Rage and Crysis 2. Don't worry Cows you guys can play them also :D

I know poll mean so much in SW yes? Sure I guess Kz3 could be in the argument the point stands that 2 multiplats look as good as ANYTHING on PS3 :)

I guess since Rage comes out after KZ3 I guess it's in pre pre Alpha, wow imagine how much better it will look when it comes out.

Rage is multiplat so they have to work on 3 platforms, and isn't it their first attempt at console deving this gen? KZ3 already has a Godly engine in place and all efforts are focused on the PS3, KZ3 will win easily.I will probably but if this video shows Killzone 3 in alpha stage, then I cannot imagine how good it will be when it releases.

Technically, the graphics engine isn't actually pre-alpha. It's still the same one from Killzone 2, but they've improved it a bit.

Multiplat has nothing to do with it, I know it's hard to accept.

Hm, I doubt it, Rage is not using 3D, nor does it have half as many particle effects and destruction as in Killzone 3. It focuses only on texture. It wont impress like Killzone 3 does with all its incredible effects and detail on armor and every character.

On PC... On consoles for the moment it's non existant. As they have yet to release a console game this gen at least.Rage looks better then both.
Rage>Crysis 2>Killzone3
I think Killzone 3 vs Gears 3 is a better showdown.
But KZ3 looks better then Rage so you've just admited KZ3 looks best lol.[QUOTE="Kingpin0114"]

I could tear apart that entire article. KZ3 is certainly doing some things better, but MegaTextures are EXTREMELY impressive tech and make a huge difference. The visuals in RAGE are easily on the same level.

Hey at least we know the PC version will look tons better then any console game. So what if it gets raped on consoles.Crysis 2
In all honesty this is how I see it...
Crysis 2= Rage > Gears 3 > Killzone 3 although I will admit that I flip flop back in forth between Rage and Crysis 2 because the thought of Rage at 60fps is too tasty!
Mind you all of these titles look great but if you look at Crysis 2, Rage and Gears 3 they all are sporting a cleaner look than Killzone 3. I don't know what it is but as good as KZ3 looks there is something off with it at least when it stands next to the other three titles. As I've said many times before....
Killzone 3 has great gun models and some decent lighting in some spots. But where things start to go down hill (at least compared to the other 3 titles) is when you look past the gun models into the environment. KZ3 has this blurry smudgy look to it and although none of the textures in all 4 of these games are perfect I feel that KZ3 has the worst. Also KZ3 is sporting some low poly "lego-like" structures/buildings. It looks weird. Just compare the structures/buildings in KZ3 and the other games. It is very hard to notice but the difference is there. It's as if someone said hey take this lego block and use it to finish off this building structure:lol:I wonder if this has to do with the quirky GPU and memory of the PS3? It's easy to overlook the shortcomings of KZ3 because of the nice looking gun models and also when the action gets frenetic.
I still have a hard time believing that the Crysis 2 footage is representative of the console builds. Just looks too freaking amazing. It's largely the same footage as what was shown at E3 and said to be the 360 build by a Crytek dev. I don't know what to say.
the buildings? what buildings are you talking about, theres only main building and its not even a building, its a mining station in the artic for mining ore and why are you even mentioning the ps3 gpu when crysis 2 is going to have all the visuals of its 360 counterpartCrysis 2

Another post-apocalyptic, Fallout 3/Borderlands/Shadow of Chernobyl clone? I don't think so ;)
DarkLink77
Because the theme of the game has everything to do with graphics amirite?
Not to mention that RAGE has been in development for about as long as those other three COMBINED, and was announced before at least 2 of them.Shadow of Chernobyl had been in development since 2001...

I'm talking about buildings, structures, platforms, whatever....any type of structure, etc..Whether it be a mining station, building or individual platform,an individual piece of steel plate, whatever it is..... it just looks less defined, small and as if it uses a low poly count. Also just because Crysis 2 will look more or less similar to the 360 does not mean that Guerilla could've struggled with the pS3 hardware moreso than Crytek. As I said before what i'm talking about is very hard to notice but for some reason is very noticeable to me.

no, i get what youre talking about, but thats the look of the planet and the art of the game basically this economically poor industrial wasteland of a planet that has the look of a metallic shantytown[QUOTE="Mestitia"]But KZ3 looks better then Rage so you've just admited KZ3 looks best lol. But what I'm saying is that the structures, buildings platforms, etc... in this industrial wasteland are not very well defined (low poly count) and almost give the individual structures, beams, platforms etc.. an amateur look....hence why I used the term lego blocks.

I'm just going to leave it alone. As I said it's something really hard to explain or notice at all but it's something I personally see. But it's all good because as I said all four of these games look great. I just personally feel that KZ3 is bringing up the rear in comparison albeit not by much.
