How is what he said warrant a suspension? I think he is right, the west does suck. I think the Japanese devs are the one leading the way to new game ideas more than western devs.

Without the east games wouldn't be fun. And we would still be playing Astroids in 3d. Heck, thats what were basically doing when we play an FPS.

Not to mention the fact that games would be a hobby that old nostalgics play in their basement.

Sony is the one who made the video game market big.

The West is horrible. It's nothing but just shooters, sports, and hybrid RPG's.

What happened to the days of a REAL RPG experience such as Black Isle?

What happened to the days of ingenious level design as Half-Life 1?

What happened to the days of superb unique adventure games such as GrimFandango?

What happened to the days of tactical shooters such as S.W.A.T.?

The East has definately left the quality arena, but so has the West.

Well PONG made the industry known, Atari made it more popular then die, Nintendo came in and resurrected it, the Genesis made it a tad bit more popular, the Playstation made it real popular, and the Wii and DS is making it extremely popular

Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Crysis, Spore. These games impress me and many other gamers out there far more that a rehash.

All the games you mention except for spore and AC are nothing but shooters...one has an RPG layout but is still much of a shooter. And AC is nothing but a 3rd person adventure, much like PoP. Nothing in their is that innovative Spore excluded.

Games like Little Big Planet are innovative. If anyone from the "West" think outside the box, its some of the Europeans.

i agree about the xbox part. but why do americans devs have to with realism in games. i look at mass effect and the character and i see no emotions in the characters faces.XboxOWns1

the west is generic? and japan isn't? ok lets go over rpg's. you wake up not knowing who you are. turns out you are the savior of the world and your old best friend is your new enemy. someone gets kidnapped and you have to rescue them. or you are a street savvy teenager thrust into a war and it turns out only you can save the day. ohh and you always have perfectly spiked hair and look like a girl.

The west has a lot to learn. Its shows with the Ford-like reliability in the 360.

Man 1982 seem's like a long time ago, since the Japanese and Nintendo came in and all of a sudden made my Atari and Intellavision II worthless crap! now the west is back in front, and in total control with the innovative 360! and Japanese dev's are finally looking to the west for new fresh idea's! WOOOOOOOOO BABY!!! I'd say the tables have turned! 360 and XBL all the way for the kill!! 360 FTW!!!xX0LDSCH00LXx

Wii is outselling 360 and PS3 is hands down a more powerful system. I like the idea of the West being in front but 360 really showed its true american colors by having a lot of systems break. blitzinger123

True. Pong started in America. Even before that, many of the text and text oriented graphic games started in the states. Many of them started at M.I.T. This was long before Nintendo even though about making video games.
