• Sure the 360 has an advatage because it released a year earlier, but even compared to the PS3 that launched at the same time, how is the Wii even competing? Why do people get crazy defensive with the Wii and try to make it seem like it's just as good as the HD consoles or better. The Wii isn't in the same league imo, I know it's part of SW, but come on. It's library is laughable, 8 AAA games in like 5 years? This can't be right...

Well, i'm glad I have you around to state the glaringly awesome.

It's still a great console.

Because it has the most high scoring exclusives then any other console this gen PC aside which sort of makes up for the lack of multiplats.

All and all I say it's an awesome secondary console.

Looks great to me over150 titles that have scored above an A. I don't know about you I only own 40+ Wii games and some of them are not A titles. So thanks for letting me know there still many more games for me to play. ;)

The only thing that that told me was that the PS3 and 360 are more critically acclaimed which i already knew. Also told me that there is quite a bit to play on the Wii. For the taste of my peers and SW as a whole I would never recommend the wii as a first system but the high ammount of exclusives (in more unique genres as well) make it a great addition to any other system.

Yeah the Wii isn't anything like the other Systems but that doesn't make the freakin' Wii garbage.

It has some pretty top notch games like Metroid, Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, No More Heroes, Red Steel 2, Guilty Gear, Monster Hunter Tri, Wario, Muramasa The Demon Blade. And some up Coming titles like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Plus the Wii has a Wide Variety of Classic Games to choose from as well as New ones.

And The Whole Reason why the 360 and PS3 are getting Motion Controls is because of the Nintendo Wii might I add. and I guess Microsoft got Jealous a bit early because the Xbox 360 didn't have Avatars until the Wii Came out.

The idea is exclusives give a system an identity that can't be stolen. If I had to choose between getting all the multiplats the Wii lost or keeping the exclusives I'd take the exclusives. There value is what will always make a system worth a purchase. If you have a PS3, would a 360 be the best purchase with its lack in exclusive content?

Half-Way

As I illustrated in a past blog post, the Wii is in fact in a better position than the Gamecube was in terms of actually giving prospective owners a good reason to own it, as it has many more games on it relative to the competition that you can't play anywhere else than the Gamecube, whose good games for the most part could also be played on the other consoles:

The bottom line really is that, regardless of which console "wins" in terms of the number of quality games on it, there are a ton of games this generation that one will entirely miss if one does not own a Wii. And, of course, there are also a ton of games this generation that one will entirely miss if one does not own an Xbox 360 or a PS3, which is why I own a 360 as well. Single-console owners will always miss out, no matter what.

The best part of the Wii is that on its own there is a good bit to play but it adds very little over lap if you pair it with any other system.

You can knock those franchises, its just that their passionate fanbases expect extremely good reasons as to why.

It's deeper then simply disagreeing with certain franchises like Mario, Zelda and Halo. It's a downright taboo to knock on them. Gamtrix

Is there more games out for the wii that I want over my 360? Check.
Is there more games coming out for the wii that I am looking foward than the ones coming out for 360? Check.

Seems like the wii is doing fine to me, sure it lacks the big multiplat games, graphics are no where near as good as the other two consoles and its online is rather poor but it does have some of the best exclusives. The wii is by far not perfect nor is it my favourite nintendo system but it what it can do, allows it to hang with the other two consoles.

It's not exactly a compliment if a certain system excels at being a secondary system...just saying. It does have some really nice exclusives here and there, and the rest of the 2010 lineup looks pretty solid for the system.

I don't get this place... When it comes to the PC, 360 and PS3 everything is about comparing, competing, being better then the other, finding out which is the superior platform, when it comes to the Wii it gets a free pass. Honestly, my first ever console was a NES, I loved growing up with Nintendo but this too me seems like a really bad case of Nintendo Nostalgia. Kind of like noones allowed to say anything bad about Mario or Zelda or else...Gamtrix

It's been way too over done and every once in awhile there comes someone like you that bashes the Wii to oblivion and someone has to come and defend the console.

Yes it is, I mean, obviously the Wii is not the best syste, ever (and prob the worst this gen) but when it comes time to make a second purchase for someone the Wii is practically an awesome choice because the best games on it have virtually no overlap at all. When you look back at a system in 10 years its the exclusives that it had that will probably justify its purchase over the multiplats.

exclusives are good because they contribute to only one systems overall library, but since Wiis library is way worse, the exclusives it has aren't close to being enough to put it over the other 2 consoles let alone the PC.

Since he mentioned everything except exclusives, I think it's pretty safe to say that he had an idea.

Ok... And out of those games, the Wii has way more games I would consider playing.

It's competing because it's fun. that's all it needs to be, and it's succeeding very well
