The Wii is a strong contender for worst console ever.

First off let's talk games.

• The majority of new IPs on the Wii have been pretty lackluster (even from nintendo) and there's an over dependency (once again) on Mario and other older IPs.
• The wii lacks 3rd party support on a next level than even the GC and 64. Just look at all the amazing titles the Wii is missing.
• Most of the time at best the wii has 3 worthwhile games a year, I mean, does anyone even own 40 Wii games? I can't think of 40 games I'd get on the Wii if I got a new one today, infact this year I can only think of two games that look worthwhile however this year alone I can easily think of 15 games I would get on the other platforms.

• The wii is overpriced, it's a slightly more powerful gamecube but yet it's close to the cost of an xbox arcade.
• Motion controls aren't for everyone and the lack of classic controller compatibility in most games is quite surprising to say the least. This basically alienates people who want to play nintendo games waggle free.
• As mentioned earlier the Wii's hardware is only slightly better than the game cube's this results in a lack of multiplats, and some very last gen looking games. While graphics aren't everything they are certainly appealing and many gamers today would like a certain level of visuals.
• Lastly the wii lacks the functionality of that is present in the other consoles. Though it recently got netflix so I'll give it that.

Anyone agree? I really regret purchasing a wii this gen, and if I could go back I'd easily just purchase another 360. It may not be the worst console ever but it's a strong contender for it.

I cant think of 40 games I would want to play on the other consoles let alone own (unless I can throw PC games in there).

There are substantially worse consoles out there that history has brought on us since the start of videogaming. Just because you have only seen the Wii does not somehow make it the worst console. Many others have come before and failed miserably.

i'm not interested in the old N franchises but for those that are there are a pile of outstanding games on the wii.

How can you say that? The Wii had more quality core First Party titles in a shorter period of time then the GCN had in it's life time. Maybe every more then the N64 in it's lifetime.

True, but it was a failure in sales and cause the fall of one of the big ones, so even if the Wii has a lackluster library, i cannot be considered the worst console.

The Wii has more third party support then the Gamecube or Nintendo 64 ever had, problem is 90% of it is shovelware. Seriously have any of you ever went into a game store that carried Wii games in a dump bin? Nintendo allows anything to be released on their console, they have no standards anymore.

It's a strong contender if you haven't been gaming for a significant amount of time. There were far, far worse consoles released.

Not really...The Pippen, Vectrex, 5200, CDi, Virtual Boy had an abysmal selection in comparison. You may not like the games on it, but the Wii does have quite a few worthy titles.
