1. That doesn't change that you failed to prove that the Wii is mostly played by moms and gradmas (that was our original discussion).
2. The Wii is a strange console. Yeah, its low price and innovative contols could appeal casual gamers, but it also could stop them for buying it. It is no secret that most "casual" gamers aren't interested in things like gameplay, ,etc, but in what's cool and looks good. We all know that the Wii graphics are no match for the 360/PS3, that's why I think the Wii is more "hardcore" than the 360/PS3, because it's mainly focused on gamplay, not in graphics. Also, the "chilidsh" games, like Mario Galaxy, aren't casual-oriented. A Casual would say: "Mario is sooo childish" or "no match for Halo 3 online" or "look the graphics, they are cheap". A hardcore gamer knows the quality of those games, and that that doesn't depends on graphics.
EDIT: Good point of gamecubepad: all the old good N-fans (like me) that have been with Ninty all this years. There can't be more hardcore gamers than they.
Of course, everything I said is just speculation, but that could be used to debate if the Wii is that "casual-oriented only".
Alright by your rules non of us can prove anything. But i already agreed with gamecubepad who did what you didn't and explained to me reasons...(yada yada).
Oh and i didnt understand a thing you said in "2". lol

Of course we can't prove anything, and that's the problem. That's why I don't understand how people can say "Wii is only for kids, casuals etc" or "all who play Halo 3 are stupid teens" or "the PS3 lacks good games" etc. All are so opinion-based...
Ah, and my second point was that casuals aren't interested in gameplay, but a lot more in graphics. A hardcore look forward to good gameplay. A casual can be easily impressed by nice graphics (for example, see how many copies of Lair were sold). That's why I think the Wii is more "hardcore" (or at least so hardcore) as any other console. Because it is focused on gameplay. Of course, that's only my oipinion.
It is quite unlikely that MS and sony would launch a high-end for it's time console again. The wii is utterly destroying everything despite being the worst system by a country mile for a traditional gamer. And unfortunately even software is selling on the wii.MS and sony are left crying and they probably know now that targeting the high-end side is just not worth it.
Huge development costs, more prone to hardware failure due to complicated hardware whereas nintendo sells a repakaged gamecube with an astronomical price tag.Despite being 10 times more powerful, the xbox 360 goes for the same price, has beter games but still get's it's ass handed big time in sales.
Once sony and MS come out with their gimmicky console the PC will also find itself in a stange position.
Go nintendo yay!

Good. No video game system should cost $500-$600. Nintendo cares about affordability for us, the consumer.

HAHAH
nintendo cares about money. the easiest way to make money is to screw the users and use last generation hardware to lower the price. if you have seen both microsoft and nintendo have taken vastly different stances this gen than last because they did terrible last gen.
sure it's affordable, but don't delude yourself that nintendo is some kind of non-profit mother theresa organization who loves every single one of it's clients.
[QUOTE="Spybot_9"][QUOTE="Kez1984"]That's unlikely to happen.Only the devs making exclusive PC games will be left on the PC and most probably the devs making multiplats(most of them nowadays) will prolly abandon the PC cuz they would have to make a game from the ground up for the PC to not be considered a joke due to the enormous diference in hardware capabilities.Good, hopefully we wont have to put up with overrated games with gameplay we played a decade ago as well as having multiplats dumb down our pc games.
Go wii!

Making a high-budget PC exclusive then would be more risky as well.I mean if crysis had flopped horribly in sales for some reason, they could still port the engine on the console and have a chance of recovering the cost.
Kez is not even worth responding to. That comment was either born of ignorance or the desire to flamebait. A little of both probably.
You are not one to talk either.
Developers are ignoring the wii becasue they have a level of dersire to push the envelope of gaming and also the fact that games do sell well on 360 and PS3.However sony and microsoft would have none of it as they want wii hardware sales.Once all consoles are gimmicky and only PC is high-end many(not all) passionate devs will probably surrender to the market demand.I bet all the Hermits would love for your silly dream to come true. If Wii took out the rest of Console gaming then the PC wouldn't have the PS3/360 holding it down.
Bottom line is this. You couldn't even form a list of genres, franchies, games, or series that the Wii has haed a negitive affect on. Could you make a list that the 360/PS3 has had a negitive affect on? Um hell yes.

magiciandude
What the hell? How can the PC be affected by the Wii sales, when PC is cleary outselling all consoles? Seriously, wtf? Are you suggesting that Operating Systems will be downgraded, such as XP to ME? Don't forget that PC's aren't just used for gaming.
Wii affecting PC gaming
Now that's a laugh.
You didnt get the point dude.PC may not have many high-end games if all consoles are a joke like the wii.Obviously the PC hardware or OS or something wont be downgraded.Well, when I first read about the Wii and DS, I thought they were both bad pieces of gimmicky hardware that would never sell. My logic tells me that selling second-rate hardware with some sort of gimmick(how about 3d glasses, snap!) would not sell well next gen... this is the same logic that was confounded by this generations sales, so what do I know?
Kidding aside, I don't think the Wii will have as huge an influence on hardware as it will on marketing.

I don't think Nintendo is marketing towards the gamers this generation as their primary market.
The Wii is being targeted at John and Jane Q. Middleclass.
If the 360 and the PS3 were struggling to break the 10 million units sold plateau then I would agree that there would be no benefit to go high end next generation but as the prices of the 360 and the PS3 continue to come down and hit that sub 200 pricepoint where most consoles are sold I think we will see them combine for well over 100 million consoles between the two, while Wii will make huge strides selling to the family crowd which had no interest in gaming consoles last generation.
Nintendo saw its userbase drop every generation from NES to Gamecube and it was clear that targeting their original base was not working so they opted to go in another direction.
