I agree with this. Since i have a gaming PC, PS3 and X360 pales in comparison to the Wii that's why i only have a Wii for my console gaming.except it works best as a secondary system. pair it with something else and the large number of high scoring exclusives can shine.
CaseyWegner
This much is obviously true. They have the worst library by far, I'd go as far as saying it's one of the worst libraries of any main console ever. It's an underpowered, lame, waggle fest with no games and an audience of none gaming octogenarians and casuals.
Look at Modern Warfare 3 as an example, the fastest selling game of all time. On 36 it has sold a total of about 11 million copies. The PS3 has around 9 million. Considering it is such a high grossing game and the Wii has a considerably higher install base, you would expect the Wii to at least match its competitors. Nope. Then surely it at least sold half what its competing systems did right? Nope, the Wii version of Modern Warfare 3 sold a measly 360 thousand. :|

[QUOTE="super600"]It is time to face facts. The Wii just isn't a very good system. In fact, it is a bad system, a horrendous system. Can't say I agree with what I personally found on the system. Is this a troll thread or am I dreaming?

The Wii is worse than its competitors in literally every possible way. This is a fact. It has the worst library. For example just look at the most recent Gamespot Game of The Year awards. Of the 11 GOTY nominations, only one is available on the Wii. Not only is there only a single exclusive Wii game on the list, which is pathetic enough, but there is only one game that is even playable on the Wii. This isn't just restricted to this year. According to Metacritic the 360 has 43 titles that have received an average score of 9 or above. The PS3 is close behind with 39. How many does the Wii have? 14 :|. Obviously this is large part due to the inferiority of the Wii's architecture and hardware. It simply can't handle the quality games being released on the other systems.
Sheep like to say that the lack of major multiplats doesn't matter. That apparently they have the highest number of "quality exclusives". While people constantly bash Activision for releasing the same game over and over again, Nintendo gets a free pass. They have been developing the exact same set of 3 or 4 games for over twenty years now. Does no one ever get tired of jumping on the same enemy's head over and over again in Mario, the same enemy they've been bouncing on since the original? Or seeing the same story told in Zelda, again, the exact same incredible "Save the princess" epic Nintendo came up with in the original?
Now, sheep like to proclaim that their system of choice has the best sales, which is true to an extent. But I have to ask, what is the point of selling over 80 million units when you can't move software off the shelves? Games don't sell on Wii. Look at Modern Warfare 3 as an example, the fastest selling game of all time. On 36 it has sold a total of about 11 million copies. The PS3 has around 9 million. Admittedly Nintendo games like Mario and Wii Fit sell impressively well, though this is only because of their massive appeal with little boys and their grandmas. I guess I should correct the statement I made earlier. Real games don't sell on Wii.
Everything about the Wii is worse. Its online, its hardware, its controller, its UI, the library, even the sales. How and why do Nintendo fanboys put up with such nonsense? Do they simply ignore all of these problems? They can and should have better than this. Nintendo has no excuse.

I'll agree that the hardware and online is worse compared to other systems, but for me personally I don't care. The COD gameson the Wii have excellent online and even Brawl is enjoyable online when you play 1 on 1 matches against other players.
Personally, I've never had any issues finding games to play on the Wii. I got mine about a year ago, so I can go back and enjoy many of the older games that I missed from the early years. Alot of the Wii's games fly under the radar and barely get any press. Outside of Nintendo published games, many Wii titles simply don't get the exposure they deserve.
Modern Warfare 3 is an excellent example. All the posters, ads, and other promotional material did not bother to acknowledge a Wii version. Every store ad that I saw published showed the PS3 and 360 versions, but did not bother showing off the Wii version. If anyone deserves blame for that, its Activision. MW3 would have seen better sales had it been promoted, but the bulk of the adverstiving focused on the 360 and PS3 versions. By the way, I should note one other thing. The PC version also did badly in sales.
Here's the thing, the Wii can produce quality games if effort is put into them. Most of Nintendo's offerings proved that and some third-party games like Tatsunko vs Capcom, Sonic Colors, Monster Hunter Tri, and the Wii COD games were all titles that had effort put into them and they sold well. The problem is that most third-party developers are content to do half-assed or half-finished games onto the Wii and then release better versions on other systems.
I'm going to be honest, I am happy that Goldeneye Reloaded bombed on the PS3 and 360. The reason is because I felt that Wii owners weren't rewarded for buying Goldeneye and were basically told to go screw off. Let me make this clear, I don't mind Goldeneye going to other systems. What angered me was the feeling that I was a beta tester for a game that got an enhanced version on other systems a year later. Where was the enhanced version for Wii owners? I don't buy the whole "well, we can't compete with Nintendo's titles so we won't bother." mindset that third party developers have. But there are so many quality 3rd party games, in which the developer put significant effort into the game and they still bombed horribly in sales. Just look at Madworld, Zack and Wiki, Muramasa, No More Heroes, red Steel 2, etc. Can you blame them for giving up? The system isn't designed for core gaming, and that is where it fails.I don't know the TC or any of his theads, so I'd have to agree.
Wii is by far the WORST Nintendo console out of it's 5 popular successful consoles in the company's history.

Look at Goldeneye Reloaded, it was relased on two consoles where "core gamers." are the main audience and it sold worse then the Wii version.
Those games you listed are like what Okami was on the PS2. They are great games, but they lack the mass market appeal to sell great on any system. Even on the PS3 and 360, No More Heroes only managed to sell 16,000(PS3) and 15,000(360) copies on the first week of Japan. Now, the Wii version only managed to sell 10,000 unit in its first week, but its not a massive increase on two machines that are marketed as machines for "core gamers."
Now, the 360 may be understandable, but as for the PS3. You would have to imgaine that sales should have been better.
And that's my point, none of those games would have sold in huge numbers on any system. The Wii alone is not to blame.
Honestly, do you think any of those games would have done any better on the 360 or PS3? Look at Goldeneye Reloaded, it was relased on two consoles where "core gamers." are the main audience and it sold worse then the Wii version.
Those games you listed are like what Okami was on the PS2. They are great games, but they lack the mass market appeal to sell great on any system. Even on the PS3 and 360, No More Heroes only managed to sell 16,000(PS3) and 15,000(360) copies on the first week of Japan. Now, the Wii version only managed to sell 10,000 unit in its first week, but its not a massive increase on two machines that are marketed as machines for "core gamers."

kbfloyd approves this post.
Completely agreed.
There is a reason why I bought a 360 and PS3 earlier this gen but never the Wii.
It has some good exclusives but I don't rate them any higher than 360 or PS3 exclusives.
Not to mention the terrible multiplats or a lot of them not releasing at all.
Awful online
Awful graphics
Wii store is good
Classic controller is good
The DS is where Nintendo really hit it off this gen, true hardcore sheep know that's where the best of Nintendo is this gen.
The Wii is undoubtedly the worst Nintendo console.
 good post TC. You hit the nail on the head. And  at all the butthurt post in this thread hating on the TC for telling it like it is.[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"]PC/PS3 is best combo.except it works best as a secondary system. pair it with something else and the large number of high scoring exclusives can shine.

hard to say. there's a lot of overlap.

Take all the multiplats out and only count the PC/PS3 exclusives and it is still the best.[QUOTE="CaseyWegner"][QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"] PC/PS3 is best combo.AmazonTreeBoa
